Logs for Chipshaker

Need to revist the cache to make sure it is still there - it was reasonably well hidden but the number of "can't find" postings is a worry. Might take me a little while to get up there so best to temporarily disable the listing

Thanks for all the feedback everybody - hoping to get up there this weekend for a bit of cache maintenance...and perhaps a minor relocate now that summer is on the way.

Cheers

Fantastic spot that we didn't know existed, despite living close by. Cache was a small medicine tube, not a peanut butter jar - did we find the right one?

Great spot - the beach was busy but the cache area nice and quiet

No amount of shoelace tying enabled us to find it. Beautiful spot sadly spoilt by a lot of litter. Signs this could be a drinking haunt for the local youth judging by the prevailing theme of stuff tossed over the fence

Dropped off the Black Peas and Black Pudding Travel Bug

Nice to see the Soldier back in action again - just down the road but a good way to kick off a summer of caching!

Wandered across for a Christmas Eve swim. A lovely spot

We live 5 minutes away from this cache and it was on a path I hadn't walked along before! Great hiding place and I love the camouflage

Very local for us but still a good excuse for a walk. We managed to squeeze an entry into the notebook but didn't have a spare one with us. I will drop a new one in this week.

Lovely spot and a great hiding place. Struggled to find what was under our noses! Will be revisiting at low tide to do the walk around the bay

Struggled to find the cache. The view was fantastic but it was tough going by the retaining wall and we didn't want the kids spending toolong by the roadside

Our first cache. Had a lot of fun searching

Took a while, despite the obvious place - sometimes it's harder to find what is right under your nose!

Fortunately, the tide was out....and so were a few crabs!

What a beautiful place - well worth the drive. Had to be a little bit careful though, seems a popular stopping off place for some of the tours

Found this one travelling back south. Great excuse to stretch our legs. Love the camouflage

Found it whilst holidaying nearby. Was tempted to use the jetty for a spot of fishing but decided it was too busy. Went from the jetty just further down at the Houhora Heads campsite and caught two big octopi!

Sorry, thought I'd posted this earlier but must have missed it off - we had a lot to post after an 8 day touring holiday. We had a fantastic walk to this cache and a lovely swim on the way back. A beautiful spot and well worth the walk.

Be warned, the cache looks close by from a certain part of the lake, but don't forget the directions/distances may be 'as the crow flies'

What a beautiful spot!
