Logs for FlauschBaerenBande

We stopped at this cache on our Surfers Paradise tour. At first we were a little puzzled on where to look and also what the hint could mean but after the Mrs. had spotted it everything made sense. A very nice location and ad nice hiding spot. Thanks and greetings from Austria!

When we approached the coordinates we didn't really see the war memorial but found the cache instead. Coordinates are very accurate. Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

Yay! It seems like this is the only available cache on Russell Island at the moment. We tried to find the other three but had no luck. This one we could find very quickly. It's still in good shape and not damp. The place itself is also nice. We had just bought a postcard in the post office before with that headstone and didn't really know what it was until we saw that place. Very nice. Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

Just to confirm the 4 DNFs before: This cache seems to be gone. This area of the bush has been burned down and there was no sign of a container what so ever. We didn't poke in every hole (possibility of snakes hiding everywhere) but this location definitely needs to be checked. Thanks for hiding the initial box though!

We tried to find this cache on our two day visit to Russell Island. Although we immediately found the sign as described we couldn't locate the cache container. We climbed on the sign, looked at every possible hole but didn't find it. We were either too blind or it's gone. If the owner reads this, we have a few pictures were we think the cache was located. Maybe you can contact us. Cheers and thanks for initially hiding the box!

Tried to find this one on our two day visit to Russell Island. Although there were some pretty obvious spots we couldn't find the container. We strongly believe it's gone missing. Thanks for the initial hide though.

We chose this cache as our 600th find. We took our cousin with us - she hadn't previously heard about geocaching and was eager to hear about it. It was also her who spotted the niftily hidden box first.
Thanks for this cache and greetings from Austria! We left the TB inside since it just came from Europe and wants to stay in Australia and where going back to Europe soon.

We did a guided Fraser tour and were happy to see that we stopped right at Lake McKenzie so we could do this Earthcache. We asked our tour guide so we could answer the questions and took a picture in the pouring rain. At least we were nearly alone at the lake at that time. Smile Thanks for this cache and yay for the STF! Smile

After visiting Australia Zoo we stopped at this nice place to get the cache. Before we started to search a man came along and told us where we had to look. It was the right place anyway but it seems this friendly guy had met some other geocachers before. Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

Visited the zoo today and quickly got the cache after the zoo closed. We used this nice box to set our wedding geocoin on the way since we're currently on honeymoon. Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

We found this cache on our way home from Australia Zoo. It was already dark and also raining so we made a run in the park and after some careful searching with our flashlight we found the box. Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

Stopped on our way to Australia Zoo to get this cache. What a great cache container, we don't see these very often in Europe. We chose this spot to set one of our Geocoins free. In our hurry we totally forgot to discover all the trackable we didn't take with us.

IN: FlauschBaerenBande's Alpine Geocoin, Mouse Class A TB
OUT: Ambulance TB, "Orland River (ME)" Red Jeep Travel Bug

Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria

Found this cache on our way to Australia Zoo. This is really the definition of a drive-by cache. We could almost get it without leaving the car. Wink Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria.

P.S.: No trade but we tossed out a rotten cigarette (since the cache is a little moist inside)

Ah, you gotta love these parks. Stopped here after visiting Australia Zoo and were astonished to find out that we were actually the 6th cachers to find this little box. Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

Well, we came to Brisbane just yesterday and the first thing we managed to do is having our car getting towed. So today we went to the impound but arrived there half an hour early so we decided to get this cache. The coordinates were super accurate, we were exactly at GZ with 3m accuracy so we didn't have to search very long. Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

We met up with an old friend in Brisbane for a coffee and a little chitchat. After that we decided to take him with us for a small geocache hunt. After we arrived at this cache we quickly noticed that Saturday is the day for getting this cache since the nearby museum is closed and so searching the area can be done without much interruption. Well, we then looked for quite some time, checked the obvious places but weren't successful, when finally Arig Nacious spottet the well hidden box. So it totally paid off to bring him along Wink. Thanks for hiding this cache and greetings from Austria!

We came to this cache from Chopsticks Bridge. On our way we saw 3 wedding parties. Must have been wedding weekend in Brisbane. Wink
When we arrived at Little Miss Know It All's hiding spot together with Arig Nacious, the coords were a little bit jumpy at first. But after searching the premises, Mrs. FlauschBaer had the right intention and grabbed the box.
Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

Went on a small caching tour with Arig Nacious. He recommended we have a look at Chopsticks Bridge (can't remember the real name Wink) so we headed out there. That bridge is really a nice construction and adds much to Brisbane's skyline.
The coords for the cache were pretty accurate, so we quickly spotted the little bugger.
Thanks for hiding this one and greetings from Austria!

We went to Palm Cove this afternoon for a little stroll and dinner in the evening and decided to look for this cache. At first we went blindly to the header coordinates since we didn't read the description. Turned around and went to the new location and couldn't find it at first. After some shopping in the nearby supermarket we read the logs and got some additional hints that lead us to the cache. Thanks for this one, but as others suggested - please update the coordinates and maybe add a little description for what cache size to look. Cheers and greetings from Austria!

This cache is just 200 meters away from our holiday resort so it was a must-find the first time we got down to the beach. We found it pretty quickly and tried to cover it up a little more since it was sticking out pretty obviously. Thanks for hiding this cache, our first one in QLD and greetings from Austria!

12-Sep-10
Our last cache in South Australia before moving on to Queensland. We returned to Mawson Lakes, the place where we had lived before to do this Wherigo cache (and therefore get another cache type in SA after Traditional, Multi, Puzzle, Event, Webcam and Virtual).
When we arrived it was already dark which was maybe a good thing since people didn't really see us walking up an down the square for I guess 20 minutes or so. By then we had finally solved the maze and got the final coordinates. We wondered that they were pretty far away from the maze but proceeded anyway. The part that followed next wasn't so great. It was pretty dark and we first had to gain access to the location. When we finally managed to find a way, we quickly saw that we were not alone. Lots of mosquitoes and also lots of spiders. Huge spiders (at least for us Europeans). I guess they looked like huntsman spiders but who knows. Anyway, we looked some time for the box and then decided to read some logs since we were clueless. One of the last logs helped us a lot and so we finally managed to get the box and sign the log.
Thanks for this Wherigo, the maze was real fun. We didn't agree that much on the final - some nice suburban place would have been okay as well, but that's of course a matter of opinion.
Greetings from Austria to the calumphing_four whom we were lucky to meet in person at the Nano Event.

This was the last stop on our tour with our new found friends FLIPPER&CO, The Tardis Trio and Team Scoobster. Actually a sad moment since we had to part but we'll definitely keep the memories of our caching in south Australia. Thanks for the great time, thanks for the great caches, also for this one of course - we'll take all the good ideas and memories back to Austria. And maybe we'll be back as well some day - bringing along more Mozartkugeln (Mozart balls). Smile

We approached from the wrong side but quickly saw that this couldn't be right since there weren't many possibilities to hide something. We were successful on the other side though. Smile
Found that one together with FLIPPER&CO, The Tardis Trio and Team Scoobster. Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

We met at this cache with our new friends FLIPPER&CO, Team Scoobster and The Tardis Trio to continue our caching trip from yesterday. When we arrived they had already gotten the box so they could point out the direction for us. Nevertheless coordinates were so accurate that we didn't really need any hints. Thanks for this nice cache at a very unusual sculpture and greetings from Austria!

This one hasn't been found in quite some time so I guess it was time for us to change that. After finding a possibility to cross the creek Mr. Tardis Uno was the one to retrieve it.
Found that one together with FLIPPER&CO, The Tardis Trio and Team Scoobster. Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

Well, nature's creations are the finest, at least for this little cache. We've seen similar ones before so we had an idea, when approaching ground zero. It turned out to be a good idea and the cache was ours.
Found that one together with FLIPPER&CO, The Tardis Trio and Team Scoobster. Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

This one's got some pretty nice view. Since we were busy taking pictures the others did already find the box and we just came in time to sign the log. That's the pleasure of group caching. Smile
Found that one together with FLIPPER&CO, The Tardis Trio and Team Scoobster. Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

When we were approaching the cache there was actually some BMXing going on so we had to be careful not to be spotted while retrieving the cache and not to be overrun by a bike. Both went well so we could find the little box.
Found that one together with FLIPPER&CO, The Tardis Trio and Team Scoobster. Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

Aaah, caching in the woods in the middle of houses. A really nice experience with a worthy final. Very cool container. Found that one together with FLIPPER&CO, The Tardis Trio and Team Scoobster. Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

As FLIPPER&CO already mentioned we thought this would be the ideal cache for our honeymoon. We were right and so it was us who were able to find this nifty little box. Very nice idea, gotta remember that one.
Found that one together with FLIPPER&CO, The Tardis Trio and Team Scoobster. Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

P.S.: I'll be back! Wink

We couldn't even get to that one in time when the others had already found it. Nice little box. Found that one together with FLIPPER&CO, The Tardis Trio and Team Scoobster. Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

Coming from Children's Forest we decided to take this one as well. We quickly found it and on the way back we watched someone learning how to drive on a nearby parking area. We were not overrun so I guess passing that driving exam shouldn't be a problem. Smile
Found that one together with FLIPPER&CO, The Tardis Trio and Team Scoobster. Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

Now that's an interesting location. I guess the drain had pretty much action in the last weeks with all the heavy rainfalls. The cache however was unaffected and we could quickly retrieve it. Found that one together with FLIPPER&CO, The Tardis Trio and Team Scoobster. Thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

We love virtual caches. Probably because there are not so many around in Europe but they just give you stunning insights on things. Just like this one. What a great idea. Found it together with The Tardis Trio, Team Scoobster and FLIPPER&CO. Thanks for "hiding" and greetings from Austria.

This cache definitely deserves a higher difficulty rating. Together with FLIPPER&CO, The Tardis Trio and Team Scoobster we were about to give up when Team Scoobster met some other cachers who gave us the right clues. Very nifty hidden box, thanks for that one!

Coming from today's Nano Event this cache seemed like the right one to do. Thank god we're not vertically challenged so it didn't give us too much of a headache. Thanks to FLIPPER&CO, The Tardis Trio and Team Scoobster for the nice company!

Found it together with its owners. The coordinates are super-accurate and the container is just great. We've seen similar ones but never any made with such detail. Thank you very much for showing - we'll remember that one for sure!

We actually got this cache while being on a tour through Adelaide with its owners. Very nice place to hide, we're sure the employees find it funny to watch people crawling around at their doorstep. Big Grin

Warned by previous logs we watched out for smelly stuff but were lucky not to step into any. After some pedestrians had passed we were able to look in detail and could soon find it. Nice box. Thanks to The Tardis Trio, FLIPPER&CO and Team Scoobster for the nice company.

What a nice and nifty puzzle. But with the help of FLIPPER&CO this one was solved quite fast. The cache is placed at a very nice location, thanks for showing us and greetings from Austria!

That's one bold cache. We especially like these because so many people walk past them every day without noticing. Thanks to The Tardis Trio, Team Scoobster and FLIPPER&CO for joining us on this one. Greetings from Austria!

As FLIPPER&CO and The Tardis Trio had already described below it took us some approaches to get to the cache. From various hooks and strings (including dental floss) we needed to find the right combination to be able to get to the box. To actually get to it we used our approved method on creating one giant fuzzy bear, which did the trick. And after some pretty nifty faching, Mrs. FlauschBaer got the box. Thanks for the nice experience!
Team Scoobster already got the cache so we're pretty sure they enjoyed watching us on this one.

This cache is great at night. We got our own private concert from all the frogs and possibly other animals around the lakes. Thanks for hiding this one and greetings from Austria!

Found this one together with Team Scoobster, The Tardis Trio and FLIPPER&CO. We hadn't even fully arrived at the coordinates when they had already gotten the cache out of its hiding place. Nice spot, thanks for hiding and greetings from Austria!

Okay, now that was a hard one. We've never seen such a hiding place before (since they probably don't exist in Austria) so we would have never found it without the help of FLIPPER&CO, The Tardis Trio and Team Scoobster. Thanks for showing us another great hiding spot Freddo!

Well this will certainly be an event we'll never forget. It all started out quite spontaneously since we've been in Adelaide for our honeymoon but then noticed that there was an event we could actually attend. We thought "well, let's meet some Aussie cachers and see how nice they are" and we were not disappointed. So many friendly people, so many great stories, pathtags, geocoins, travelbugs. What more could you expect?
After the event FLIPPER&CO, The Tardis Trio and Team Scoobster took us on a caching tour throughout Adelaide that lasted till late afternoon and ended with dinner so again - thanks for all the nice memories that we'll never forget!

We're currently on honeymoon in Australia. But if European cachers are also welcome we'll join you for breakfast (if we can defeat the jetlag Wink).

This one had fooled us for some time. We did understand the hint and looked at the right spot but seemed to have missed a few times. Mrs. FlauschBaer finally found it and we could leave the secret agent alley. Team Scoobster, The Tardis Trio and FLIPPER&CO were with us. Thanks for hiding!

This was a quick one. With the help of Gayle & Mark we were able to get this one very quickly. As Austrians it's nice to see that a catholic church in the heart of Adelaide got its own cache now. Thank you very much for hiding!

Now that one took us some time. Together with Team Scoobster, The Tardis Trio and FLIPPER&CO we checked every possible hiding place in the vicinity of the coordinates and were about to give up, when the cache suddenly did appear. We're sure we've looked there before. Smile
