Logs for Ina aus Wien

On my last day in Melbourne, I had lunch close by and as we still had some time before, we took a little detour to find the answers to this virtual cache. After a bit of looking around, the marker was found and the answers written down.

Thanks for the virtual cache!

Did this virtual cache on one of my last days in Australia. Headed here for lunch anyway with a (muggle) friend. I could convince her to make a short stop to get the answers. Took us a little bit though to find the marker. But after finding it, the questions finally made sense Smile

Thanks for this one!

Once again, not really easy for somebody grown up in Europe. At least I could identify one of the landmarks at that spot. The other one was identified by my friend and her husband, who grew up in Melbourne could help me with the song.
Good team work.

Thanks for this challenge!

Well, I wasn't really planning on doing that cache while visiting the botanical garden. But as it turned out, I really loved it there and decided to spend the afternoon here as well and so had plenty time to do this multi virtual.
I have to admit, I had some slight disadvantages, especially concerning the children's books. I guess we just have different stuff in Austria and / or Europe.
I really enjoyed the walk through the gardens and learning a bit more about them.

Thanks for this nice virtual cache! Logging with permission.

Another artsy virtual cache I came across while exploring Melbourne. Had to do a bit of research as I had no clue whatsoever about the sculpture. But luckily, it is prominent enough to get back some search results.

Thanks for the virtual cache!

Ooops, almost forgot to log this cache as I went caching without any GPSr that day and so no reminder to log it.
Anyway, took a trip to Philipp Island that day, with a bus, to see the Penguin Parade that everybody was telling me about. Unfortunately, everything was scheduled and not any time to go caching. But I decided to skip the Koala park and go for this cache instead. I actually didn't think I would find it when I looked at the difficulty rating. But I actually did. YEAH. Luckily, I've seen this type of cache before. So when I saw it, I knew it would be the cache.
Too bad I didn't have time for the whole series. Well, at least one cache found on that trip.

Thanks for the cache!

Took a day trip by bus to see the Great Ocean Road. I was already afraid that I wouldn't find a single cache as we had a very tough schedule and I had to stick to the group. Anyway. I managed to sneak off here and go for the cache without anybody noticing. Thanks to the hint, the box was located easily enough and I could rejoin the group soon afterwards.

Thanks for this big box in an interesting forest!

Luckily, we had some more time at this spot and so I managed to visit all the stages and answer the questions. Not even the beginning rain could stop me anymore. This is a very interesting location and interesting story as well. Really liked it here.

Thanks for this nice earth cache!

This was our last stop, and once again, I had a bit of time to find the answers to the earth cache.

Thanks for the permission to log and thanks for this earth cache!

As I was staying in Sandringham, this was pretty much the beginning and end point of every day. Always muggly here, even when it's raining. So I had to wait for the right moment. I guess that moment was when it was already dark and raining. Not too many people around. Took me a while to locate the box though. And what a big box it is - I like that Smile

Thanks for this big cache!

But of course we had a bit of "alone time" at the Apostles and so I could easily find the answers, get plenty pictures AND enjoy the view.

This really is a special place!

I'm not an AC/DC Fan, but when I heard about the AC/DC Lane in Melbourne, I knew I had to go there. Just to make my friends back in Austria jealous Wink

Even though it was raining, there were still a few muggles around, so it took me some time to locate the cache. I could have sworn I already looked at exactly that spot when I finally found the box Smile

Thanks for the cache!

Well, the satellites were not my best friends that day, lots of irritation. I blame the rain.

Anyway, after reading logs and looking at pictures, I finally found the right location and it was a quick grab.

Thanks for the cache!

I came across this earth cache while strolling through Melbourne. Very nice. I didn't even notice some of the fossils at first. Next step was identifying them. Not that easy a task when you are not familiar with these fossils.
But I guess I managed somehow.

While strolling through Melbourne on a rather rainy day, I also came across this cache. Thanks to the hint, the cache was found rather quickly. And now I even know about Mary MacKillop - let's see who I can impress with that knowledge back in Austria.

Thanks for the cache and greetings from Austria,

Ina aus Wien

I'm not really familiar with that movie so I had no clue at first what it could be. I'll have to admit that I had to use google to find the right one.

It's a nice place but I doubt that I'll ever see the movie... well, maybe just the beginning to see what they did in the location Smile

The cache description was a total mystery to me. Well, I thought it might get better once I'm at the cache location. But still, big mystery. No wonder considering I grew up in Austria and we had our own tv series (if good or bad is up to discussion). Anyway, with the help of my Australian friends I managed to uncover the big mystery.

Art is not really my kind of thing, so I better not answer the question Wink

But what I do know is that this thing was very convenient as it was raining and I needed a dry place to take notes and take a picture Smile

My very first view of Melbourne. Very nice. As it was only a short walk from my hosts' place, this was one of the first impressions I got of Melbourne and I instantly fell in love with this city.

Also, I learned a bit of history here as well - it's an earth cache after all Smile

Very nice place here, I'll come here again if I ever get another chance to visit Melbourne.

I solved this one as part of the master of mystery cache in Vienna a while ago. Well, to be a exact, I had it solved by a geo-friend as I never see anything in these pictures. I never thought I'll ever be able to physically visit the cache. So I almost forgot that I've got this one solved when my company sent me to Australia.

On a very rainy weekend, I finally took off for this cache. Needless to say, no muggles around anywhere. Still, it took me AGES to locate the cache. I knew I wouldn't have a chance to come back and look again. I was already very soaked when I FINALLY found the cache!!! What a relief Smile

Great tricky cache!

Thank you very much!

Very impressive bridge. Of course, I've seen it on plenty pictures before, but it's completely different when you stand in front of it/under it/ besides.
This earth cache helped me in learning a bit about the history of the bridge as well - that's what I love about earth caches. I did the "field study" in pouring rain, as you can see clearly in the pictures as well Smile

Thanks a lot for this informative earth cache!

Unfortunately, I had only time to look for this one in the series. It must be quite amazing doing the whole series on the bike. Very beautiful scenery, really enjoyed it.

Cache was found easily enough.

This is a very nice place indeed to watch the sunset. My timing was right, and after finding the cache, I enjoyed the sunset.

Thanks for the cache and greetings from Austria,

Very nice train station. While I was there, somebody had their wedding pictures taken. and I could look for the cache without any muggles noticing me. Box was found quickly.

Thanks for the cache and greetings from Austria,

Loved this letterbox.
I actually came across it while looking for some munzees nearby. I enjoyed the walk and wasn't at all sure if I am on the right way. But in the end, I found the great cache, the munzee and the letterbox. Great hideout. Really loved it.

Thanks for the therapeutic threesome, very therapeutic indeed Smile

Usually, it takes me forever to find caches like this. But I guess I was lucky with this one. Only took me a couple of minutes. Searched while pretending to be interested in the machinery.

Thanks for the cache and greetings from Austria,

When I came here, I had to wait for some muggles to go away. So I enjoyed the beautiful scenery from up there before making some attempts to find it. After what seemed like forever, I finally found the box. Needless to say, I was too blind to see it right away.

Thanks for the cache and the view!

I had a very strong suspicion about the hiding place of this one. But my GPSr told me to go further down the lane. And so I did and inspected just about everything. Only to come back to the place that I first thought the cache would be in. And yup, there it was. Hiding away, waiting to be found.

Thanks for this cache and for showing this lane - wouldn't have gone there without it. Btw, visited Melbourne a couple weeks later and some of the graffiti lanes were just breathtaking.

Took me a while to find this one. GPSr was all over the place, not really telling me where to take a closer look. Only after looking at the pictures, I got an idea of where to look. Et voilĂ , the cache was mine Smile
Even though it was quite muggly, nobody seemed to notice me.

Nice one!

Thanks for the cache!

I was here before, but as it was dark, I didn't spend much time looking for it. Coming back at daytime, it was only a matter of seconds to locate it. Took some patience though to wait for the right moment. Really busy intersection Smile

Did this one on my tour through Perth CBD, but only came to the final after some other caches. Well, I was expecting to look for the little one forever and still not find it. But I was lucky this time. Had it in my hands with the very first try. YEAH.

After telling my colleague about geocaching, he was very keen on finding one himself. So we went out on our lunch break to find his first geocache. This one was close enough. At first, he thought he could do it without GPSr at all. But soon he found out that it might be helpful Smile
Well, I let him do the searching and eventually he found the cache. Made him very proud. Putting it back seemed to be bit of a problem for him so I helped him. Cache is back in its place where we found it.

I'm sure this is a lovely place especially in summer. I can imagine how busy it gets here.

Thanks for the cache!

Headed for this cache on my very first evening in Perth. But it was already dark and I didn't have a flashlight with me and it was a very long day... so no find for me.
But as it was close to my hotel, I made a second attempt and found it immediately. The box is a bit tricky, I'm glad it had instructions on how to open it Smile

Thanks for the cache!

Had a wonderful day in Rockingham, watching dolphins, penguins, sea lions and much other wildlife. Even had a dip in the indian ocean. But still, I didn't feel like returning to Perth yet. So I looked at my phone for nearby caches and saw this accumulation of caches around Lake Richmond. As it was getting late already, I didn't expect to finish the whole roundtrip, but wanted to get a tast of the lake anyway.

Turned out, this was a very beautiful spot and I enjoyed the walk very much. Even though it was getting dark already, I didn't want to turn back and head to the car. So I went on and had to find the last caches in the dark with my torchlight.

While doing the roundtrip, I also "stumbled" upon this cache. Couldn't walk past it without not at least giving it a try. Oh well, what can I say?? It took me forever and I almost gave up on this one, as I just couldn't find it. I was all over the place. Luckily, nobody was around and watched me.
I was one happy Ina, when I finally found that cache Smile Great container!

Thank you very much for this extraordinary cache!

Well, it took me ages, I was close to giving up. And all the time, I was asking myself "what's the obvious spot?" Well, I finally found the hideout. Very very sneaky.

Thanks for this challenge and most of all: thanks for this cache in a really beautiful location!

I am especially happy about finding the final, even though I missed two caches. This big box is a great reward for doing the whole trail.

Thank you very much for this great roundtrip around Lake Richmond. Without the caches, I would have never even seen this beautiful spot Smile

It will deserves another favourite point!

Between stop 4 and stop 5, I took a longer break at the lookout tower and enjoyed the sunset. Really beautiful. But this also meant, that I had to continue in the dark. I wasn't sure if I'd find another one at all. But as soon as I was at the coordinates for stop 5, I already saw the cache. What a relief. I hate looking for caches in the darkness as I'm usually not lucky finding them.

Well, no luck on this one for me. Looked at a lot of spots, but all I got was scratches from the bushes. I probably missed something very obvious.

No luck on this one, as the previous cachers. Wasn't disabled when I started looking and not as many DNFs yet. So gave it a try but had to give up. Well, figured out the final even without that missing number.

Stop 6 took me ages to find. It shouldn't have been that difficult. But it's easy to say that once you found the cache. I was just so keen on getting the number for the bonus cache that I just didn't give up until I finally found it Smile

I was already wondering about the folded paper in the logbook, but after reading the previous log, it all makes sense now Smile
But I have to admit that I unfolded that page again and signed there as I didn't know it was a log. Sorry about that.

For Stop 3, I first had the wrong coordinates in my GPSr (was manually transferring them from my phone), and they were leading me away from the path. Knew that this couldn't be right, so better doublechecked. Once at the right coordinates, it was an easy find.

Thank you very much for this great roundtrip around Lake Richmond. Without the caches, I would have never even seen this beautiful spot Smile

I made a trip down to Rockingham today and did the shoal water safari. Great fun. Seen dolphins, sea lions, penguins, pelicans and lots of other wildlife. After spending some time on penguin island, I decided to go for this cache and have one last look onto penguin island and seal island. Lovely spot with greats view.
Took the beach way option and enjoyed walking through the waves and getting my feet wet Smile

Cache was spotted easily enough. Unfortunately, it got a bit wet inside. Tried to remove as much water as possible. The logbook is still dry though thanks to the plastic bag.

Afterwards, I put on my bathing suit and went for a little splash in the indian ocean for the first time. Weather was just too lovely. Sunshine all the way.

Thanks for this very lovely cache at a beautiful location!

Ina aus Wien, Austria

No luck on this one for me as well. Looked under, but no sign of a cache. There are a lot of seagull nests nearby and the seagulls get very aggressive when someone comes near their nests.

Anyway, the island was well worth the visit, enjoyed my time there. Also went past seal island by boat and admired the local inhabitants Smile

Very lovely spot here. Enjoyed my time here. At first I had my doubts if I would actually find this cache. But when I got to GZ, it only took me a few looks to locate this rather big container.

Thanks for the cache!
