Logs for PhayerClan

Great spot, very windy today! Campers looked like they were going to be blown away! Loved all teh dozers, especially Tinky Winky.
Nice big cache, well hidden but fairly easily found. Log book dry as toast. Thanks for warning about prickly ground cover!
Alas after scrambling around this way and that all we found was a very smelly dead possum. Suspect the GPS was sending us on a wild goose chase. We really need a little help from a clue as we don't have the best GPS around.
Good cache. Seals not a problem today, just a few lazing by the waterline. Muggles more of a problem!

Quick, easy find. Sadly log book very soggy and we didn't have time to stay and dry it out.

With all the possible hiding spots it seemed almost unbelievable we randomly sat down in the right spot, followed the clue instructions and there it was. Cool. As in neat AND as in blowing a gale, low cloud and freezing cool!
Thanks for the photo from GZ of Mt Ngaruhoe, we would not have even known the summit was there at all with the low visibility up there today.

Very sad to report did not find this one. So many muggles, so many rocks, so many ledges...had to reluctantly move on as weather closing in.
Awesome cheeky hiding spot! Absolutely crawling with muggles but they were so busy taking photos and reading the boards and getting ready to start the crossing that they didn't seem to even notice what we were up to. Loved this one!

Jeepers this is a tricky one when you don't have the "blues clue" with you. Didn't help that both our GPS's had it placed 7-10m away. Maybe the terraced terrain interfered. I see from other logs that we are not the only ones to mis-search in similar place. Pays to take the clue with you!!!!
All in good nick. Nice quiet walk after the bustle of all the tour buses at the caves. Thanks for the cache.

Alas not a single kiwi-themed thing in the cache. Great idea, wish I'd read the info beforehand and brought something appropriate to leave. But pretty cool that it is such a large cache laying so close to so many people coming and going, all blissfully unaware of its existence. Unfortunately the clue was of no use at all as flowering is over, and both our GPS's were giving random readings under the thick tree cover so we ended up grid-searching about 20x20m. Almost gave up, turned to head out and there it was!
An easy walk with lots of fabulous rock features and the very specific clue sure helped with the find. We were there in the daytime but apparently this is a popular night-time walk and we thought this spectacular limestone cave area would be perfect for dropping off a glow-in-the dark coin we picked up in the Coromandel bush.

Cache intact and in good nick which makes a nice change. Some of the original hippy-ish goodies described are even still there, including the "pendant in the shape of a suspicious green leafed plant". Perhaps the sting contained in the man-made & natural features which had to be negotiated has protected the cache from being interfered with!

Quick & easy find, cache in great nick. Nice little leg stretch to the first lookout. Sure was busy today though, counted over 50 cars at the bottom!

[^] Easy family walk flanked by abundant bird life. Great little spot for the cache. In good condition; contents all dry. Lovely way to spend an afternoon!

The 4th cache on our loop walk/overnight stay at The Pinnacles. Always a great family overnighter and finding the caches this time added a bit of extra fun!
Lid is still broken and was half-full of water.

Great cache in a great spot! First time we have been up here when it was not blowing a gale! magic!
Great start to our family Pinnacles adventure. Nicely hidden and the bonus of a treasure to retrieve for taking on our next adventure.

Found it, best one we have seen yet as newbies. Thanks Butterfly Lady.
Did a cycle round trip of this, Jim's Place & Tokoroa Rural Power. Great little circuit.

Surprise! There was a slimy slug in the cache! Lid was closed tight, wonder how that got there?
