Logs for PomFrog

23-Jun-15
Easy find after a short but beautiful stroll. Absolutely love this area.

Nice little cache

Took a bit of time and a read of past logs. This cache needs a new container as it is broken and there has been ingress of water and insects !!!

Found it, removed the log book, but didn't have a writing implement. Doh! Wow, that's a strong sucker!!! Beautiful view, but not quite my furthest North.

28-Feb-15
Found with SportGirl, Fin and Sabrina after Fins 3rd Birthday party.

15-Feb-15
Well, what a disappointment. Realised on the morning we leave Darwin that there are 3 trackables recently dropped near to the airport. I decided, on the way to catch our plane, that we could do a straight swap for 3 in my possession, but on finding the GZ there was absolutely nothing but the log book. Seems like nothing is safe here, so I will not leave any TBs. I feel sorry for anyone who has lost a TB here!

Find with the whole family on a trip from Sydney. Straightforward find after looking at the other possible place first. I love the view from here TFTC

Find with the whole family on a trip from Sydney. Straightforward find by our 3 year old. TFTC

Near home so found with friends

31-Jan-15
First find with the whole family. My first thought was, it can't be there, but a quick grab and we had it.

28-Jan-15
Nice spot, but container needs attention.

Easy find. Solved the puzzle, but didn't need it as I read the hint and had seen the location from the highway! Took the mini compass and left some interesting marbles.

Yahoo, my first STF! Great spot and easily found once I had the correct side of the road. I love these old highways that are now little used but used to be the main arteries.

21-Jan-15
My first find on Lismore on a business trip!

Nice quick find. Went straight there and used stock standard diversion to disguise my activity from the busy road. TFTC

Like many before, went back to first place I looked and lo and behold!!!

Nice one, and much appreciated name as I am the Pom half of PomFrog (My wife being French). Found exactly where I first looked, but still took me 5 minutes Wink v.nice

Intriguing, but anomalous. Funnily enough I was in the area to investigate the adjacent structure!

Thought this would be straightforward as I know what I am looking for, but it wasn't to be! Spent 20 minutes looking but no luck. Was considering a bit of dismantling, but thought this would be too high!!

Devilish, but I wasn't going to give up after making a wrong turn off the Bruxner highway. This was the longest I have taken in a long time!!!

Five minutes of bewilderment followed by enlightenment! TFTC

09-Jan-15
Another lunchtime cache hunt with ChunkDeluxe. First of the day and went straight to it despite the GPS going haywire +-300m?? Left a pair of clogs and took the Whistle TB

Found easily but not quite where expected. Another lunchtime cache hunt with ChunkDeluxe

Thanks for the straightforward multi with a good hide. Tried to make the first stage more complicated than it was, but soon realised that the co-ordinates were unlikely, although I have to say my caching buddy Chunkdeluxe made the same mistake.

At the second location I declared, "found it" straight away and sauntered back to the car with a smug look on my face. Chunks followed me thinking I had it in hand. I thought he had given up .... after a couple of quizzical looks at each other, Chunks then went back to the right spot and I said "yep, thats it" ... only to find I was wrong, but within a few seconds he had it in hand. All's well that ends well!!!!!

Straightforward find and good lesson for Chunkdeluxe who must be nearing double figures on his find next. TFTC.

07-Jan-15
Easy find on way back from a meeting TFTC

06-Jan-15
Quick lunchtime find with my mate, ChunkDeluxe. TFTC

2nd lunchtime find for ChunkDeluxe and I . Nice quick one but still another great Cache from C62. TFTC

As per normal was about to give up when I thought .... maybe its over here!!! Took a pair of clogs and left my heart. Well that sounded a bit strange, meant to say took clogs TB and left Mon Coeur TB.

05-Jan-15
Wow, didn't want to let this beat me. This GC is only a couple of hundred metres from my office so chunk deluxe and I decided to have a look during our lunch break. We donned our 'hidden in plain sight' camouflage ( reflective jackets ) and pretended to be surveying the area. Absolutely no luck, and went back to the office very frustrated. As home time was beckoning, I suddenly had a light bulb moment and rushed back to the GZ, finding the cache straightaway. The tools were found almost as quickly, but not before a drive past holler of ... "Keep looking!" Who was that man in the Subaru? This made me worry about my cunning plan of pretending to be a road engineer Wink Chunk Deluxe turned up 2 minutes later and solved the rest of the puzzle. I was so excited that I forgot to leave the planned TB. I will go back at a quieter time to leave something trackables. Nice work C62. I think I will look up a few more of your devilish GCs. TFTC.

04-Jan-15
Nice work. Was a bit busy the first time I looked today, so left thinking I knew where to find it. On my way home stopped and went straight to the find. TFTC.

Easy to find ... TFTC

03-Jan-15
Quick find, but only because I was thinking out of the box. Made my day, TFTC. This has to be one of my favourites, simple but elegant.

There was no room on the log sheet, so I added a new piece of paper. Probably needs sorting soon.

Found a couple of days ago (Friday 2nd Jan 2015) Poor condition! I am wondering if
I found an old cache that had gone missing. The magnet was missing and the contents were very wet. This needs replacing if it is the cache.

02-Jan-15
First attempt with kids in tow failed for me and the Flying Vulcan. Went back 10 mins later fir another look and found straightaway. FV said he had looked in the same place earlier, but not well enough!! Swapped a TB and wrote in the log. The log book bag is a little damaged and will need replacing soon considering the environment.

Struggled a bit to find after reading earlier logs and getting my East and West mixed up ... Doh! SportGirl left a crocodile for the next unsuspecting visitor!

Walked past this so many times before, but finally stopped and checked it out. 'SportGirl' left a baby snake to scare the next finder!!!!

A bit of help from Mr Google but it was a nice little challenge. Somehow went straight to it. Tftc

Amazing view

Been to this one a few times today, for various reasons!! Nice snake eggs found amongst the trees!!!!

30-Dec-14
First find for our three and a half year old daughter. The box is damaged and there is only a pad inside .. No trackables. Still she enjoyed the hunt and it was a simple find.

Well we managed to find the 1st cache after a bit of searching. As usual we were about to give up when there it was! We made a note of the coords but had to leave so we will be back for the one that got away!

Spent a while looking but also wanted to watch for Platypi with the geokidz. Didn't give this the usual effort so DNF. Great spot, I will be back.

02-Dec-14
Left a trackable

TNLN thanks

First find for my mate, ChunkDeluxe TNLN

01-Nov-14
Thanks for the cache, showed my 3 year old for the first time, she now wants to find more pirate treasure

03-Jul-12
Great location, I have always liked the views from this side, but the culvert was an interesting surprise. Took a TB, and will replace with another TB on my next trip this way. TFTC.

31-May-12
Forgot to log a visit from 'mon coeur' when I was at this great spot earlier.
