Logs for The Wombles

02-Oct-16
My favourite character in the entire series. Dropped a geocoin travelling from the US. Thanks for placing

22-Aug-16
I made a special trip here from our cruise ship the Disney Fantasy as I have always wanted to visit a Mayan temple.

It is an amazing location next to the blue waters of the Caribbean if a little hot for my comfort.

Photo enclosed and thanks for setting.

A nice classic geocache. A good sized container in the middle of nowhere and a nice location. Lots of mud and water around it. As I found the cache, church bells started to ring. A nice experience. Thanks for placing

An easy find at this one. Thanks for placing.

Found the cache quickly Smile. Thanks for hiding.

A quick find to complete the ones that were available today. Thanks for placing

My GPS led me around the garden and had to resort to the hint (my coordinates enclosed). Having said that, the hint was excellent and the cache soon found.

This is a lovely garden which would be better still on a sunny summer day. Unfortunately I visited on a drizzly overcast Autumn / winter day, but it was still a nice place to be.

I hope the nearby building which overlook this garden doesn't spoil it.

Thanks for placing.

This is such a special cache that it has its own parking space and tours. I visited from the UK today, this was my main objective. I loved the cache and particularly the stick-O-flage! Met MUS. good to meet you.

Thanks for retaining the cache.

17-Jan-12
Found this morning on my way into work. We completed a diagonal 1/1 to 5/5 last weekend, having decided that we would try to complete the D/T matrix this year. This is on public view in our profile.

A nice idea and much appreciated so thanks for setting this one up.

Plaque is away for cleaning so cache is temporarily unavailable.

Quick find on my way to work. Thanks.

The area has been boarded up and filled with scaffolding to enable the front of the church to be cleaned. This looks like a big job - so far they've only done the very top of the building but it does look much better for it. I can't see if the cache is still present since that area has various building materials - I expect it will need to be replaced after the work is completed.

The church is still accessible during the work and as ever well worth a visit. Please don't try to access the cache but if you do visit then please post a note to say how far the cleaning has gone down the building? I'll check/replace the cache once it's all finished.

A quick find at an interesting location. The kids liked the lightship and the harbour was quiet in this area. Thanks for the cache.

We visited this spot after an afternoon at the science centre which the kids loved. The Bay area was an interesting visit, a first for us. Found by a younger Womble. Thanks.

Found two nanos much to the amusement of the kids. Enjoyed walking through the area, thanks for bringing us here.

What a fantastic place for a cache and great place to stop. We had a wonderful day here (again!) despite having to visit "It's a Small World". Brought along the TB "Pooh" which wants to visit the Disney Parks around the world - well this was certainly a good start. Thanks for an excellent location.

Greetings from the UK, nice to see our Cuckoo Cache meeting cachers from and wide. Hoep you have a great event.

19-Sep-05

Visited at lunchtime with "The Haigies" to replace the camobag and add a few toys. I watched as Steve hunted the cache - quite a good sport in it's own right!

William Wordsworth on Westminster Bridge, London, England

This is the very spot that Wordsworth composed "Westminster Bridge" (the following). It is now commemorated with a plate.

Earth has not anything to show more fair:
Dull would he be of soul who could pass by
A sight so touching in its majesty:
This City now doth, like a garment, wear
The beauty of the morning; silent, bare,
Ships, towers, domes, theatres, and temples lie
Open unto the fields, and to the sky;
All bright and glittering in the smokeless air.
Never did sun more beautifully steep
In his first splendour, valley, rock, or hill;
Ne'er saw I, never felt, a calm so deep!
The river glideth at his own sweet will:
Dear God! the very houses seem asleep;
And all that mighty heart is lying still!

I took two photos, the first of plate and GPS, the second of the modern view from the bridge whcih is rather different to 1802. It now shows the London Eye, the largest observation wheel in the world (which we had just "flown".

Delighted to see this cache appear and use an excellent theme; hope it is successful.

Unfortunately it'll be a while before we can visit since we live in the UK and our trips aren't that frequent.

Good luck with it.

Searched for some time and was about to leave as the light was fading when Nicky spotted a likely niche. Good location.

Unfortunately the box was very wet inside and the log book may be unrecoverable. We dried everything as best we could and put it back in a new (dry) sealed bag.

We took an Australia pin and left a London pin.

We are on holiday from England and really enjoying the city.

Second people to find this cache today! Good location, enjoyed the hunt. It wasn't too busy when we were looking just before 6pm so not too many prying eyes.

We took the Sydney pin and left one from London. We're here on holiday from the UK so this was our first Australian cache.
