Logs for The_Lings

29-May-16
Thanks for this. Was an easy find. Surprised it hasn't been muggled. Great for the kids.

A nice close cache on a sleepy Sunday arvo. Thanks.

22-May-16
Nice quick one while visiting the rocking horse. Thanks

05-Jan-14
Found the little box in the first place I looked. The coordinates were indeed spot on. I had to grab it in a gap in foot traffic and replace it just as quickly so I didn't sign the log. Perfect location and a neat little hide. Thanks.

18-Jul-13
Found it on a trip to the pirate playground with all the kids, my bro and Flic. Great way to wind down after a drive from the Sunshine Coast. Thanks

15-Jul-13
Found this on a pleasant morning walk with the oldest boy. I see from the comments that the keys aren't the cache but they are still there. What is that container? Thanks for the cache while we were on holidays.

29-Sep-12
Found this with the whole family while on a trip up to visit friends. Thanks!

08-Dec-11
Daddy Ling found this in the dark just after 9PM. A nice sized cache but it looks a little empty. Perfectly positioned for business travelling. Needed to get 1 in Christchurch.

Lost charger for tablet in my travel. Able to sync my find now finally.

Found it! I came past once with my cars gpsr running flat and tried to find it..... Way off! Much better this time. Nice quiet spot with a natural seat to sign the log on. TNLN. Thanks

10-Nov-11
Found it! Yay. Great camo. I am wondering if it's in its correct spot though. Co-ords are right but it seems a little low. Perhaps it has fallen?

Nice sized cache... might have to bring the kids back for this one. Got a little lost when incorrectly put the wrong co-ords in my GPS. When I double checked I realized my mistake. Strangely I got all the clues right though. Can't help big fingers. TNLN. Thanks for an awesome walk around this end of the park.

It wasn't until I was walking back to my car that I realized why the name..... Might have to lift my head occasionally. Wink

Awesome camo and perfect hide. A lovely lunch break find. Thanks

01-Nov-11
Found by Dad and 3 of the kids. The posted co-ords were a bit off. Nice hide. Thanks

Found on the way to Melbourne Cup party.
Took card, left ball.

Found today! Young boy dropped the cache once he saw what he had in his hands and young girl held her nose for fear of the smell. TNLN Saw Kangaroos!

Thanks Bubblz

4th today. Funny about that. Awesome camo. Thanks Bubblz for a great day and a great cache.

Geomum found this after a little hunt while waiting for a wedding reception to start. Nice easy find. TFTC

24-Apr-11
Find 2 of 3 for the day in our post Easter luch walk.

Used to live around here and never knew there was a boardwalk.... This is what I love about geocaching.

The logbook is really running low on space to write and the blackberry bushes grabbed us at every opportunity.

Nice hide though.

Thanks Rigger64

Find 1 of 3 for the day.

Decided to go and walk off Easter lunch.

A bit of mucking around with our numbers but we found it... Nice hide.

TFTC piggysue

Find 3 of 3 in our Post Easter lunch geo-tour of Somerville.

GPS co-ords are a little off which had us second guessing ourselves for a while.
Nearly took off home for desserts but managed to find it and sign it after thinking more about the name.

A nice park for the kids close... no muggles around today.

Thanks Ryan.J.E

22-Apr-11
Found by the Geokids while dad drove them around.

Parked around here many times... who knew there was a cache here... We do now!

TNLN

Thanks gruffpuppy

So we kept on going...2nd for the day. Nice place to pull over.

Geokids once again found it quickly although they thought the clue was a little biased toward 6ft tall people.

Swapped in a Monkey torch and took our plastic fish ring. Also left trackable - Finally found a suitable place.

Thanks again gruffpuppy.

A nice walk from LGH pulling a 20+kg tool case. Was in town for the day for work and couldn't resist the opportunity to log a cache while here. A nice hiding spot and some great shade to wait for a taxi under. Thanks Dirty Girl Tas.

We've been talking about this one all the way home and still to our guests who came past tonight.

This was an awesome location. No wonder it's on so many people favourite's list.

We made a few false starts at it, but eventually found the "easier" way in.

Took the self guided tour after knocking and getting no answer - AMAZING!

This is a definate Must See!

Mum Ling had the GPS and a head start but 6 y.o Ike Ling found it first. I think we were too busy looking around at the amazing construction.

I want to know more about the history of this place. Anybody have any links?

TNLN.

Thanks so much for this cache BushwalkingBandit.

So we thought we would do this in the morning before lunch... and drag the Parents of Mrs along for the walk.

Starting with Dad-Ling on a mis-guided adventure down to the private jetty and along the small wall ledge and over some lucky (and very rich) persons brand new boat house and jetty... Lovely to see but sent the rest of the Lings back up the ill for some shade. When Dad Ling returned the rest of the team had found the Green door (Der! - so obvious) and had wondered a few metres before returning and needing the push to keep going. Dad Ling did have the print-out in hand so knew to keep going.

Amazed at how close the Sorento - Queenscliff ferry runs along the shore-line. The views of the bay between Sorento and Portsea were Amazing! The houses and properties... Un-nervingly BIG! We can't believe some people have houses like these... just for their holidays. Wink So Envious.

We followed all the way points and appeared to be on track until we came to the last and needed to know the colour.... Well, it was a difficult call, but when the GPS wanted us to go into the building site we thought it was game over. A real pity. Dad Ling decided to re-check the colour choice and we were within metres of the prize... could it be?

Quick hunt around and had it in hand. Was worried about all the muggles going to the beach, but there was a perfect break in traffic for us to fill the log book and re-hide the cache.

TNLN SLoads!

In-laws may be the newest converts to Geocaching?

Cache was damp and log book was wet.

Thanks for your amazing work pprass

Found it... Lots of muggles around but we found a gap in traffic.

Great views of Queenscliff today and a ship passing through the heads.

Great little spot for a cache.

TN Left the Kookaburra kookaburra on the old gum tree travel bug.

Awesome hide!

Really enjoyed the view. Kids didn't complain doing the climb - BONUS!

Took figure, left sticker.

Found the cache just before lunch... Well actually, the little Lings found it.

Really enjoyed the walk. Great views.
Took sticker and left bouncy ball.

Very water logged and very little paper left. All paper is now wet. Removed excess water from the container.
Could use some attention.

TFTC Geofreak

A nice and easy find. Our 3rd for the day.

Took pen and bubbles, left figure and puzzle.

Was water logged and has no paper left. Unfortunately we didn't have any paper to leave behind.

TFTC Jack0.

Love the local history tours.

Nice place. The kids want to come back on a Sunday so they can ride the train.

We told them we will do the trains next time we're in the area so we can find the other 2 cache's at Musk and Bullarto.

Thanks for bringing us here Feathertop.

Finally found it! Only took 4 visits and a new GPS.

Not exactly sure what we were looking for, but Very Clever.

Thanks Team Ladava

Found this cache. Kids got to see a waterfall.

Lovely place with great facilities close at hand. Will definately be back here. Thanks for leading us here Dr. Klig.

What an awsome cache!

While the grandparents looked after the Little Lings at the perfectly positioned playground, Mrs and I took off like a shot to get all our clues.

Such great clues which made us see more of the springs than we would have.

When we saw the longer walk section Mrs (who is 21 weeks pregnant) decided she would sit that part out. I made the 30min walk in 12mins and was back before 30mins elapsed. (I wonder if I'm good or that is the round-trip time) Wink

Final Co-ords in hand, met up with Mrs and Little Lings and found the Cache.

Pulled out our first Trackable too... Kookaburra.

TN(else) LN.

Thanks for the great tour of the springs and the incentive to go on a decent walk juzmac.

05-Jan-11
Found this after our climb to the summit. We camped in the crater for 3 days.

Met Sol de Lune the previous day where he told us of his unsuccesful search.

Found this after 5 mins of running up and down. Really nice spot.

With hindsight there is an easy way and a hard way. We of course did it the hard way.

Thanks Maccamob!

04-Jan-11
Found it and played the Mexican stand-off with Sol De Lune for a while, before finally having a chat about other caches in the area.

A nice easy find... the first for our new GPS... Good boy.

We are camping in the Giant. Great place just BYO water.

Took the "Moo-ve me along" geo-coin.

TN(else) LN. Thanks for the cache so close to our camping location Phetlern.

Bees Galore! They led the way.

This was The Lings 3rd cache for the day. Found it with the Seymour family.

We came at it from the East side to avoid the bees.

A nice find for the kids who then moved to the playground further around Lake Sambell while Daddy Seymour tried for a spot of fishing - Caught nothing.

TNLN SL TFTC

The Ling family found this one at the old nut house with the Seymour family. 2nd for the day.

Not sure if we should say this, but we've been here a few times before... before we knew about geocaching.

Might have to come back for the ghost tour soon.

Thanks for the cache.

This was actually the first time Mummy Ling found the cache first. She was so proud.

Found this Cache with some (hopefully) new converts to Geocaching.

Great view and safe location for the kids off the road. A nice easy find for us newbies.

L - Shampoo & Conditioner sachets

Nice walk and climb over the barbed wire.

Quite quiet behind the barrier. I think we could probably solve all the states power issues by putting some turbines out there.... It was blowing a gale.

Any seekers watch out on the "road" in close to GZ. Very muddy atm with a chance for small vehicles to get bogged. Plenty of room to park around the area without having to negotiate the mud though.

TNLN

Thanks Next! for the Cache

Daddy Ling went back today and after some hand-holding by Diane from Team Crackers, located the cache almost instantly.

After locating it have realized we made it harder than it needed to be and were in the right location the entire time.

Mother Ling thinks she may have been trying to be too stealthy when searching.

Great cache! Thanks Team Crackers!

Hi guys,

After weeks (sad but true) of travelling back and forth to this site and numerous emails with Team Crackers we are going to swallow our pride and admit they we could not find this one.

Mummy Ling and Daddy Ling have made group visit with the KidLings (who love the park) and also separately to no avail.

We hope others have more luck.

Daddy Ling went for a drive this evening and found the cache @ 20:30.

Nice hide lkgtjm. Struggled a little at first so went to Deep Tree 2. Found it, so with confidence went back and found this one

Log was full on one side so have started on the other.

Daddy Ling located this @ 20:15 (29/1/10).

Initially went to find Deep Tree but struggled so moved on.

After finding this cache was filled with confidence and went back to Deep Tree and located it too.

TFTC lkgtjm and the tour of the area.

Nice and Peaceful, not a car in sight.

Found @ 8:45 with Bubblzdee

Kids loved this treasure hunt!

Hope we haven't set an unreal expectation with this being our 2nd for the day and all time.

Took a Recorder and left a necklace

What an unreal cache! So Big!

Happy Australia Day to everyone!

Started the celebrations early by having the kids wake Bubblzdee early in the morning...

Subsequently we found our very first cache at 8:20AM

Great spot. Been there before but never knew about geocaching. Here's to more surprises.
