Logs for You, Me and Sou

06-Jun-11
A great way to spend my brother's birthday, found this actually by accident ~ and thanks to the sharp eyes of our fellow geocacher Katie of 'katie and mike' ... we were actually standing watching amazing bubbles across the marina ... whoops! is that a clue Smile

Thanks for drawing our attention to this cache - Found it yesterday (with daughter) and came back with 2 Daughters and Niece today!! You, Me and Sou consisted of Me (Erin) with Steph and Rhiannon (and Katie of Katie_and_Mike, is my niece).
Very refreshing water, will fill water bottles every time I go past now I know its here Smile
Learnt a few things about the area too - Our first EARTHCACHE!!!
Thanks for the cache - TNLN

(Hope Katie gets back online soon to log her visit)

Really very clever!
Thanks for the cache, and for reminding everyone to look after these lovely trees.

A lovely day for a drive . . . so went to drop off two Travel Bugs and take the ones here for a short rip, but sadly didn't realise the muggle problem until I came home to find out why the TB's were not there. (Left 'Femmes je vous aime" and Jikji)
I hope someone comes along soon - please take the TBs to a safer location Smile Can the next person please leave a mesage for the muggles xplaining what the cache is and to hopefully, return any missing items.
Nice walk from here to the Miller reserve, limestone path all the way now.

I didn't finds the cache as my GPS is being very weird at the moment and made no sense at all! (only found Anzac Bridge nearby thru simple clues and spot) However, I would like to say, this is an absolute gem of a spot and I ma thrilled to have had a walk around here with Sou, the geo-dog. Lots of birds and a fantail in particular kept me company most of the way around. I will happily come back when I get the GPS working (didn't find it by clue).

Another one along our way home, but GPS with flat batteries wasn't any help Smile Tried finding it by clue only but either better hidden or not in the way we thought . . . We will be back! (Lovely spot tho - thanks for showing it to us)

"You" of You, Me and Sou found this one . . . we were interested to see this memorial especially considering Jacka was a (2nd?) cousin to Wayne - the sharp eyed cache recoverer of the day!

Had a look on the evening of the 15th, but was already dark when we passed so didn't get very far. GPS not helpful . . . Had a much more thorough look on the afternoon of the 19th but although we searched very thoroughly according to the clue we had no luck at all. Have discovered this place was terribly littered, we picked up a bit as we went but it would take hours for someone to clear it all, and its not just wind blown - Come on NZers, be a tidy Kiwi! We will have another go with fresh batteries in the GPS.

The "You" of You, Me and Sou found this one, took a pic of him at one of the memorials. Thanks for directing us to this pretty little memorial Park that we drive past so often and have never thought to stop at Smile (No dags allowed though, so Sou didn't get a sniff around)

The 'You' part of You, Me and Sou found his first one Smile
We love walking around this lake and have taken many photos from the ground as well as up in the Bird Watching tower. . . great spot for a cache. Added a photo of one of the birds you may see around here - a blue Heron. One of Henley Lake's most graceful treasures.

Found the "Love" TB too

Well done Lansdowne Keas! Great cache, although lots of pruning and tidying up is happening GZ seems quite safe Smile Need to work on Sou's nose for sniffing out caches but she is learning! Took out Jikji TB to send further on its trip and left Colorado 2006 Geocoin. TFTC

(There was an interesting mix-up with the TB/Geocoin . . . all straight now - I love a good puzzle! - edited 19 March 10)

We found it according to the clue . . . cache seems to be all in order, and plenty of paper in notebook Smile
2nd cache whilst having a bit of a stroll this afternoon, also found a gum moth cocoon on a gumbranch blown down by all the high winds a few days ago ... Enjoy the walking track and Yes! you can kayak on this lake.

We found it just as the clue suggested . . . a bit of wind damage to some of the trees at the Reserve, hope it doesn't spoil things for anyone. Took the Colorado Geocoin to send on its travel and left an "All Black" Coin. TFTC

Yay!! Our first Geocache Smile The intrepid explorers went in search and spread out amongst the beautiful bush . . . We had been there before but had no idea of the 'secret treasures' hidden in this little oasis of lush shade (it was such a hot day).
Took a euro coin (to send on its adventure) and left a Sunshine eraser.
