Logs for awphoto

06-Jul-23
Access to this cache is now blocked by a seriously locked gate. Apologies to those who have tried to get there this year. Robmc and I have it on watch regarding its maintenance as awphoto is no longer playing. Only saw a couple of messages on his account right now after going in to his account to archive it. Cheers, BettyBoo3747

Cache kindly replaced by Rhinogeo.

25-Oct-09
Alas, idiots with motorbikes and 4WDs have ruined this place. So it's archived.

17-Aug-09
Found it with robmc during a long rainless break on an otherwise wild, wet and windy day.
Great mossy covering on almost everything.
TNLN Thanks.

16-Aug-09
Replaced the logbook (at long last) in the rain and wind today. Thanks to robmc for the transportation.

Went for a wet walk up the hill with robmc and replaced the container although all was still dry. Despite the rain and wind the views were still great. The track remains "clear" but many scraped tree-trunks suggest that access by 4WD could be a little hairy! Thanks to robmc for the transportation.

Found with robmc and thoroughly enjoyed the drive up one of the few roads in the area I'd never previously travelled.
TNLNSL Thanks.

Clever camo in a sense.
Found with robmc heading home to Melbourne.
TFTC no bug bites.

Replaced the logbook (at long last) on a rainy day. Thanks to robmc for transportation.

Performed a general recon of mission status, updated radio frequency devices at GZ5, re-assigned personnel at GZ4 and updated the listing to reflect changes.
Thanks to robmc for transportation duties and strategic materials supply.

Found with robmc on a windy, rainy day. An amazing amount of uniformed service for the area and an amazing number of bricks to scan.
TNLN Thanks.

13-Jun-09
Due to vandalism of the trig point this cache is out of action for now.

14-Mar-08
Found it easily but have been on the road and unable to log for a while. A great expansive view indeed.
Dropped off a grumpy cow I've had for too long.
TNSL thanks.

29-Feb-08
Found with robmc. This one did take us a little while but it was due to poor searching by both of us rather than a hard hide. TNLNSL Thanks.

Found with robmc on a pleasant sunny day. TNLNSL Thanks.

Found with robmc on the way to Ballarat. Nice n easy.
Took a Grumpy Cow for a ride.
Thanks.

I set the stopwatch and off we went! Found with robmc.
A most enjoyable, expensive looking and technical cache indeed!
TNLNSL Thanks.

It's great to have a cache named in one's honour!!
Found with robmc and as he said, the apples were good this time. TNLNSL Thank-you.

Found with robmc in an unexpected little park hidden from the traffic. TNLNSL Thankyou.

Found with robmc after a nice little walk that got the heart going. TNLNSL Thanks.

Found with robmc after rewinding and heading off in a different direction. With a compass and GPS to guide us I thought the first direction given was about 20 degrees off course. Still it was the most fun cache for the day.
TNLNSL Thanks.

Not quite a drive-by but a bit of fun. Found with robmc on the Ballarat-Run. TNLNSL Thanks.

Found with robmc on the Ballarat-Run. TNLNSL Thanks.

A nice quick find with robmc. Thanks.

Found with robmc on a sunny day with a distinct lack of muggles about. TNLNSL Thanks.

Found with robmc on a nice sunny day. A good view and a challenging hide that took a bit of searching.
TNLNSL Thankyou.

Took a little break, took a seat and discovered a cache....
Found with robmc. TNLNSL Thanks.

Found with robmc under the watchful eyes of four magpies.
TNLNSL Thanks.

Even with the 4WD I couldn't make it a drive-by. Interesting and a bit of a challenge. TNLNSL Thanks.

05-Dec-07
Dropped by on my way past and left TFN's Golden Sand Dollar to resume it's travels.

29-Nov-07
A pleasant walk on a humid day with distant rain showers visible.
Very loud cicadas and a very interesting historical journey.

Took geocoin and left a winning scratchie! (yes, really)

Thanks TR

I'm sorry for the long delay in re-instating this cache but the latest from the DSE is that the post-fire road closure of a particular track will be permanent. Alas it is this track that leads to the most complicated and heavy waypoints. So recovery of apparatus by foot is the first step and so far that's only half done. Then the 2nd half of the whole set-up will have to be re-done. Alas this is still months away.

Rob, I received your phone message but couldn't understand the phone number. Hope the above explains the situation.

19-Oct-07
First to log but not find. Missed the first finders by just 1/2 an hour!
Kept an eye out for snakes as it was about 30 degrees today but didn't see any (no regent honeyeaters either).
Found easily and enjoyed a look at WP2.
TNLNSL Thanks.

08-Oct-07
Sorry for the delay. I lost the budgie but he/she flew back to me! Placed in this cache to encourage the journey to Melbourne then Inverlock.

07-Sep-07
A nice and easy find in a pleasant spot.
TNLNSL thanks.

23-Aug-07
Just a walk in the park, in the dark.
A great trail of flashes in the bush and a longer adventure than I had anticipated, spread over three nights before meetings in Benalla.
No calculator was harmed, or used, in the capture of this big 'un, just my own cunning special method.
Took a picnic rug, left book, pc game, mirror, fridge magnet, x3 mondos, spy ear, screwdriver, explorer badge, lizard, 2 music cds, land battle game, pen set, treasure fossil, tape measure, 2 "figures" and a genuine rhino(geo).
Now the cache is at least half full!
Thanks for a great nocturnal outing.

11-Aug-07
It was there when I checked in early July, but it's gone now.
I couldn't fing a good spot for the replacement I had on hand so I will have to come up with something clever for my next visit.

10-Aug-07
On my second look I located WP1, but had no GPS with me!
Back again about 6 months later with a GPS this time.
A clever and creative hide. TNLNSL thanks for another good one.

Found while waiting for the coast to clear at another cache in Wang.
TNLNSL thanks.

After 1.5 hours and another cache I returned to this area and the dope-smoking bmx-riding kids (who should have been in school (I think) had left for the video store!
Like a few others before (hint, hint) the GPS had me over 15m away so I used the clue to narrow down the search and the clever hide was found soon after.
Left my mark. Thanks for a clever cache.

Seen from afar so I hid it a bit better. A nice view and the wildflowers were just starting to come out.
TNLNSL thanks.

09-Aug-07
The fires are long gone and the road has been re-opened.

11-Jul-07
Having replaced this cache 3 times, I'm going to call it quits and archive it.

09-Jun-07
Found with Rob and Chewin' and took a little time to admire the views and the low cloud creeping out of the valleys.
TNLNSL Thanks.

An historically interesting area and I loved exploring the interesting geological formation close by.
TNLNSL TFTC

Found with Rob and Chewin' in the depths of the night.
Great fun was had following the "tracks".
TNLNSL
Thanks.

Found with Rob and Chewin' after a few adventures. Like others before the deer fence answer led us astray and nothing matched the location of supermans change-room spied in the distance.
Back on "track" and the cache was eventually found with the ol' "caching stick".
TNLNSL Thanks for an entertaining cache Terry_Jay.

My 1st GCA cache!
Found with Rob and Chewin' but alas we had not the time to explore the walking track.
Thanks.

A nice easy find. I must check out the locos next time I'm passing by.
