this hill-figure can be seen at the road between Jena and Stadtroda in thuringia, germany.
it's carved in red sandsone and shows a squatting human.

this is the "Westschule" in Jena, thuringia, germany.
it was my first scool and I visited it for 2 years.
the scool was opened by Herrmann Winzer in 1904.
he began to instruct handicapped children in special classes and put thereby the foundation-stone for the Jenaer auxiliary school.

this great place at the surrounding hills of boras, sveden, was our overnight-place for one day. but we were not alone there!!!
in only some hours came a lot of couples to this place ... to enjoy the view...

the Cistercian nunnery at Gudhem (sveden, west götaland)was founded about 1160.

today you can visit the ruins together with the exhibition in the fascinating newly-built museum.
the cistercienser-nunnery gudhem is also known by the book
"The Knight Templar" by Jan Guillou.

... and as we stood before the sundial at N 52° 55.631 E 009° 15.087, we remembered in such a way:
15 years before we still were in the shade (so that a sundial does'nt work) behind that Berlin wall N 52° 54.888 E 009° 15.128.
in the former country GDR we lived in Jena, and that is the city, in which the company "intershop" was created - in a garage! today it is well known also in the united states.

this is the oldest!planetaria.
it was built by carl zeiss in jena, thuringia, gemany.
it's not a planetaria for visit.
that is an internal planetarium of Carl Zeiss Jena. it is the research results is tested not publicly accessible here. the planetarium gives it since the establishment already to the company.
it's in use today...

I found this small fill dam.
The fill dam was never filled with water yet.
He has only a very small influx.
This building is very strange, but a correct fill dam is.

Found it in t´he south of England, crossing the river stour. This bridge takes bikes and motorbikes over.
was very nice staying on the bridge while peter was moving it.....

This ís a little Ferry in Germany. The Ferry is on river "Havel". It´s a spacial Ferry. In german "Kettenfähre". The Ferry is now working.

"This bridge, over the river Gard, is 275 metres (900 feet) long and 49 metres (160 feet) high. It was part of an aqueduct nearly 50 kilometres (30 miles) long which supplied Nimes with water. On its first level it carries a road and at the top of the third level, a water conduit, which is 1.8 metres (6 feet) high and 1.2 metres (4 feet) wide and has a gradient of 0.4 per cent. The three levels were built in dressed stone without mortar. The projecting blocks supported the scaffolding during construction."

Chronologie
40 - 60 Voraussichtliche Bauperiode, wobei die Bauzeit für den gesamten Aquädukt ungefähr 15 Jahre, für den Pont du Gard ca. 5 Jahre dauerte. Der Aquädukt wurde unter den Kaisern Claudius und Nero erbaut.
1743 - 1745 Die unteren Bögen werden von Henri Pitot erweitert, um eine Straßenbrücke anzubauen.
1843 - 1850 Restaurierung durch die Architekten Questel und Laisné aufgrund der Einflußnahme von Prosper Mérimée.
6. Dezember 1985 Zum Weltkulturerbe der UNESCO hinzugefügt.
