The Zisterzienserkloster (trappist abbey) of Herrenalb (in the Black Forest, Baden-Wuerttemberg / Southern Germany) was founded in 1149. It was plundered in 1525 during „Bauernkrieg“ (countrymen’s revolution) and destroyed by Swedish Forces in 1642 during the „30 years war“. Finally it was closed in 1649.

In „Amethyst-Welt“ in Maissau / Lower Austria there is the biggest uncovered gallery of amethyst of the world! There are other well-known findings in South America and Australia. But in Maissau there is a worldwide rarity: a unique appearance of tape (?) amethyst. In Amethyst World you can visit a show gallery and on the treasure seeker‘s field you can search your personal amethyst.

At www.amethystwelt.at you can download the pdf-folder under „Allgemeine Info’s“ where you can read on page 2 under item 2 that this is the world’s biggest uncovered amethyst gallery („Der weltweit grösste freigelegte Amethystgang“).

Usually, we do not take the GPS with us when we go fishing at a lake only 10 minutes from our home (Baden-Wuerttemberg / Southern Germany). Yesterday it was our first try to get a picture with both together: fish and GPS. We caught two pikes and, after taking the pictures, released them back to the lake.

The 9th meridian (9. Laengengrad) is in Gueglingen (Baden-Wuerttemberg / Southern Germany). There is a ceramics relief to show the meridian crossing the countries from North to South. http://www.gueglingen.de/wDeutsch/tourismus/stadtrundgang/plaetze/o37.php

Found this bell in Schwarzach (Baden-Wuerttemberg / Southern Germany). I do not know if this is a Freedom Bell but it is a very big one! Its weight is nearly 10 tons and its height is 2 1/2 meters. It is one of Germany's biggest bells. The first ringing was on New Year's Eve 2000 when the New Millenium was celebrated.

This is Wildpark Schwarzach in Baden-Wuerttemberg / Southern Germany. They have European and exotic animals like ponies, zebras, stags and mufflons and many more.
