Logs for purplesand

Thanks for the cache

Found the latest additions to Popmac's Mint Trail early August. Apologise for the late log but things got in the way. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip out to this part of the country and thank you Popmac for your effort.

Pleased to report that I located Miss Muffet on 10 June and the spider was where I had expected to find it in the first place. The log is rather narrow so I signed it with the date and the initials PS. Thank you Popmac for laying such a wonderful set of caches and may your liking for peppermint sweets never fail and may be we can look forward to some more trails.

Found it on a day made for caching. TFTC

Found on a lovely day for caching - also found a wasp's nest - lucky me.

Popmac I truly enjoy your caches. Even the obvious needs effort. Please take this message as a thank you for the other caches I found today. The weather was fantastic, locals extremely friendly and there was not too much mud about.

Quick find on a beautiful day. TFTC SL

Found this well-hidden cache, began to wonder if I was going to extract it. Log is wet. TFTC

Found the next one in the line. TFTC.

Found on 26/4/16 a nice, easy cache. Have always been on he wrong side of the tracks before. Card7ff*boy the log needs attending to. The present one is in tatters. I left a temporary sheet but it will not fit into the container. Haven't found a cache for yours for a long time - nice to know you are still around.

Found today - after second visit. The hedge has been well cut, so the cache is very bare. Sorry, but could not avoid attracting the attention of the lady mowing the grass at Lavender Fields. The car parked on the grass verge was a dead give away. She want to know if we had the owner's permission to search his hedgerow - I said we were on public property and explained what we were doing - permission would never have been obtainable as the owner lives in Australia. Thanks Just-Lookin for another pleasant cache.

If only I could make myself believe the GPS instead of thinking I know best and that the cache should be in a certain place. I would not have had to have two goes at this one - but there are benefits in everything - bought some beautiful pears and feijoas on the back roads so it was a win-win situation. Thank you Just Lookin for the cache.

Thank you haydn.seek for showing me this tranquil place - tranquil probably because it was Sunday and school was out. An easy find, but stayed a long time listening to a tui intent on practising every song he/she knew.

Steep banks and very long grass play havoc with old limbs but another of this wonderful collection found. I think I enjoy reading the information more than the finding. Thank you Seagnoid for all your efforts.

Found this cache on Tuesday 19 April. Know exactly where it is. Could just touch it with finger tips but could not grasp it. Will next finder please return the cache where it is more accessible. Just loved that little church. I remember meeting someone in Fiji who had been on a Retreat at this place. No wonder they raved about it - the peace and serenity were palpable. When next down this highway I will sign the log.

At long last a chance to walk over to this cache - The visit was fraught with problems. Arriving at GZ the GPS decided to pack up on me. However working on the premise that the floods do get quite high I set my sights high and there it was. Next problem, the only pen I had with me refused to write on the log paper. On the next possible opportunity I shall return and make myself legal. Thank you for the cache edvern, it was a very pleasant find on a beautiful day.

Thank you for an easy find on a glorious day. The hint was spot on. Had not been down this road for years - brought back memories of golfing trips.

Another beautiful Tuesday and, hopefully, the final time we traverse this particular road. Only a few more to find and the chain is completed. Found the parking a bit hairy at times, the place was alive with ginormous logging trucks. However, the grass was not long enough to impede progress and the cache easy to locate once at GZ. Thank you tommygun9 for the effort you have put in laying this chain and for the information provided.

Finally found this one - you are so right about the force. Never mind mission completed and cache replaced, with force. Sl Thanks again Tommygun9

A peaceful spot with far too many 'Do Not' signs - Cache was an easy find and I assume someone from the surrounding dwellings would have been watching me. Unfortunately the plums are now just a memory. TFTC SL Replaced cache as it was found.

Cache is small, road is narrow, logging trucks large and husband getting threatening. All finished I am happy I shall not come this way again. Thanks for all your efforts Tommygun9

Think I must be getting near the completion of the Manawatu Rail series. Thank you Seagnoid for the effort you have made and the information you have provided, it has all made interesting reading. The cache was easy to find. A shame the surrounding area is being used as a rubbish dump. Would have done some friendly 'rubbish out', if the brambles had not proved so inhospitable.

This is the first time I have stopped at this small park - never really realised that it was a park. Cute cache and quite easy to locate - a little hard on the very old back. The log is looking the worse for wear and needs some attention.

Just love these Skindo type caches. Easy find - thanks Tommygun9

Must admit that this cache is the only one of Manawatu Rail I have not enjoyed. Finally found it, only a few more to complete the list. Thank you Seagnoid for a very imformative set of caches.

Another from the Manawatu Rail found. Log signed and cache carefully replaced. Thank you Seagnoid

An enjoyable day caching and an easy find. Signed log and replaced cache safely

Revisited on the same day as Chewy Mint- Peppermint. Remembering my promise to my self to wonder "why" - I soon found out why and now wonder why I make my life so difficult. Thank you once again Popmac for your caches - I look forward to you setting lots more. TFTC SL

Back once again to complete the caches on this dusty road. Popmac I really appreciate the effort you put into your caches. Being still quite new to the caching game I often overlook the obvious - and this is one of them. I now remember to ask the question "Why". Thank you once again.

Success with the second time of searching. The stream was not a raging torrent, as last time, and the exercise left safer. Managed to snag a finger which bled profusely. Finding the cache was an Eureka moment. But I was unable to sign the log as it is full up and needs replacing - I see the previous finder has made the same comment, but I was unprepared to substitute the log - sorry about that. TFTC - unable to sign log.

Popmac, it wasn't my head you used to do the measuring. The finding was relatively easy the rest of the exercise was more of a problem - I did have a solution, remove 6ft tall husband from car. Thank you once again for an interesting cache.

Lovely day for caching and visiting this particular part of Waikanae. Sorting out the right tree was tricky as my gps was jumping, but having got that right, the cache was soon in hand. Thankyou for the cache.

Easy find and a very pleasant walk - trust me to pick the wrong side of the stream. Was surprised at the large family of pukekohe, all of whom greatly resented being disturbed. Thanks for the cache. SL

Have not been able to visit this park area for a while now. What a difference, The plantings have grown and the bird life plentiful. Met up with Huhugrub and partner - nice to meet the two of you. Found the cache - excellent clue. Signed log. Thanks for the cache.

Found this cache a week or so ago, on my way back from delivering my husband to the hospital for some running repairs. Have always been fascinated with the name. The residents were quite intrigued obviously wondering what an unattached female was doing - I think my car number is jotted down on several bits of paper. Easy cache down a very pretty road. Thanks

Second time of looking - must have been having a brain fade missing the cache the first time. It was extremely hot today so abandoned caching for the beach. Thank you for the cache. SL

Easy cache - someone went to a lot of trouble. Thank you very much, I really enjoy the Horowhenua countryisde

Lovely place, would like to live here. An easy cache once I'd uncrossed by wires. TFTC SL.

Clever cache. Thanks for your caches popmac, I really enjoy them

Only one more to go on this road. TFTC

And there it is the very last - on this road that is. Thank you Popmac

Second attempt at collecting caches in this area. Straightforward cache true to clue. TFTC

These caches get better - nicely concealed you have trained the snails to perfection. While hunting for these caches we were entertained by a cavalcade of old vehicles, how beautiful they were. TFTC

Last one for today have run out of time. TFTC

Popmac I just loved this one. The "standing and staring" bit paid off, although the bulls standing and staring on the other side of the wire were a little disconcerting. TFTC

First attempt to find this clue was unsuccessful, I think it was a bad day for fast traffic. However, this time I had success. Good cache tricksy hiding place. TFTC

Didn't think was as quick a find as others proclaim. I don't do gambolling anymore. Never did like bracken either. The cache was an easy find after the effort, it had been left in the open so the log had dried out. I hid it a little more but not much . It will be easy to find if you are looking. TFTC SL

The first time I hunted for this cache I was new at the game. Walls meant walls to me. This time with a bit of experience I looked at the wall and thought, "Now, where would I put it" - and all was revealed. I enjoy these caches out in the countryside. Thanks Just-Lookin for placing the cache.

I am sure I have found a cache in this area before. Must have been disabled. An easy find, but a very nice, huge rock. Thanks for the cache
