At first,I was confused more than bemusedWhich I now know was a ruse To defuse any state of peruse-alSo let me then describe my sideBy juggling a rhymeIn a log that I write set backwards in timeYou see it wasn't todayThat I wrote what I wroteIn the note that is stored near the fork Of the oak.* Two steps up was all it took but some might still require a toot.**Getting ahead now though I amAs staring in consternation first had plansUntil suddenly it all made sense And I knew then wherein to commenceAll I had to do now was sit and waitFor a day my compadres could go out and playThen the day came And we all got excited To see if we could somehow go find itWe Counted and counted till our fingers ran outI offered some toes but they started to poutI offered some suggestions To the table and skyPerhaps we could ask a past finders adviceThis helped us immensely And it was reassuring to learnBetween us we couldn't tell a half from a thirdSo I already wrote aboutWhat happened beforeTo repeat it again here would be such a boreThankfully then we hadn't parked farSo we all started walking back to the carIt's about then I saw to my horrorBirds attacking a poor little possumOf course then we ran over to stop itAs I shouted frantically to get off itWe rang many numbersFor the wildlife officeBut they mostly ignored us Except to record usSadly this event had marked usAs indeed it did scar usSo we decided to call it a dayAnd make this the last one to play.Thank you, I thinkFor the puzzling sinkOf time this caused usMade slightly nauseous By the cute little critterThat just wanted dinner.*Not an oak**Tool of our trade. Apologies for cringe prose.

On a day out on the southern half of the coast, this was the second one we stopped at for the day after some co maintenance was done up on buderim.Parked somewhere near two twenty nine and walked back. Campari59 and sunshine58 were onto It with the little geotrail, whereas I, oblivious, went to the beach and stomped across. Their access was much easier.Found after a while when I strayed from the mob and struck out for one on its lonesome. Success! Thanks aidencoxy11 for showing me this beautiful stretch of beach with a geocache!Find number 5557.

I had put together a very small list of caches to find for a days relaxed geouting and this was one of those select few that made the grade. Not long into searching sunshine58 declared needing the loo and so she fled the scene with campari59 in a dash for the closest facilities. This left me to scour the wilderness at my leisure.Of course I discovered the sneaky little blighter eventually, but it took a good long while of staring at trees first. Then suddenly it was right there in front of me! Thanks SamPhelan and Harrison for the sneaky geocache hide.

Next up on our mini geouting along the coast was to here...ish.There wasn't so much parking available so we ended up shunting further down the road than expected. No matter, this gave us great access to two caches! First I led campari59 to the beach and the beautiful beachside banksia. Then back to civilization and then to this final. Bringing back two more sets of eyes I was sure to find success this time. Turns out I put my hand on it almost immediately upon arrival. Holy moly. How did that happen. Last time I was here soo long.No matter, bonus signed we all skedaddled back to wherever it is we were going.Realistically my two geocomrades will never do the adlab itself so I'm glad to at least bring them to this final for it and explain the story of the adlab and the therefore themed hide. They seemed most impressed. Thanks Duppers for a fun and informative adventure lab with an equally arresting final gz.

This was the start of our caching day and when you have the cache owner with you, it's sure to be alright. Seeing that it required a little tlc we stopped in here for a look. Couldn't find the original or any part at all. Gardeners must have done a good job. We all put our noggins together to see what we could come up with when sunshine58 presented us our options. Eventually discovered somewhere within a few metres of before but discreetly placed now in the seating area. Cache sits vertically. Thanks sunshine58 for hiding a cache here, I think we both had a dnf here before so it's nice to finally claim a find here. Difficulty should be upped and hint probably changed. This is find number 5556

Long have I read of the cache with the funny name so when it was suggested as a cooling off spot post hike I was most interested.Unfortunately two sets of eyes couldn't spy the tiny prize anywhere on at near or around the sign in question.Great spot to "have" to return to though. Thanks anyway for showing me another beautiful place!

Well this is an interesting conundrum. It's definitely seen better days as now it requires social activity to also accomplish. Well, I guess one can also simply widen the search systematically in a radius of several kilometres. Luckily it was a hot day and after a short hike we came to frolick in the cool waters nearby, which instigated conversation down this puzzling route.Made my way to the projected gz where I went around and around in ever widening circles till my hair desired pulling and teeth began gnashing.Eventually discovered the prize a mere forty something metres from where I was assured it might well be. Criminey that took a while.Recorded some numbers for co interest.Another replacers photos helped somewhat. thank you!

What an original idea this is for a field puzzle.I'd of course seen the eagle eye trio on my map for many a year now, for some reason or other I was just never in the neighborhood to have a peruse. When geobuddy AtTheLakeHouse put the call out to climb mount wappa with possible collateral, I have to admit at first I seemed quite nonchalant.Never having been in the area, I was oblivious to it's beautiful waterfall and pretty surrounds, so it took a little log reading to be assured of a great morning out. I really liked lake wappa, not at all what I was visualising. It took a moment at first to think what we were doing there, then suddenly I just saw the red burr clear as day and knew we were here solely for my benefit. Atlh having of course already visited this area multiple times on the hunt.I felt very grateful and humbled to have been brought along on this final journey then to the actual gz.We managed with not too much bushbashing at all, which is always nice. Thank you Thorny_Devil for creating this fun and unique mystery puzzle in a beautiful location. And thank you AtTheLakeHouse for inviting me along!

I reckon it must have been sometime around midday ish on day two on the water that we came up on this gz.It was a whole lot of fun throwing ourselves through lantana and assorted spiky shrubberies to get to and away from all of the tangles.Love it.This puzzle was actually pretty fun once I'd stared at it long enough to guess what I might have to do.Turns out squinting real hard does help.Whatdyaknow.Thanks 4ando for putting in so many long hours crafting this helmet of adventure for us sad addicted geocachers. This is another of those combinations that set the geocacher frothing.Good times. Here's a random sample for good luck. Oh wow that's a whole lotta unloved

I like these puzzles. So much I made one similar myself! Except I didn't just give the words needed to find away, oh no. I got everybody learning about marsupials to discover the word to search first. Like what do you call a group of cockatoos? Uh oh, a cockatoo's not a marsupial. Oh well, they're mostly marsupials at any rate. Thanks 4ando for the stimulating puzzle and bringing about a memorable weekend out on Somerset.

This was a fun puzzle that with a whole lotta zoom action I managed to solve quite neatly. Huzzah! Our TBU Sue party member was tasked with retrieval here and her slight stature required reinforcements by way of Flutterberyl to help with the log signing. Thanks 4ando for the fun puzzle and interesting d/t.The fifteenth time I've found this combination and grnd total of 5560.

What a fun puzzle this one is!Something a little different that everyone can solve.Thirteens a great number too. Unlucky for some, lucky for others indifferent to the rest.I'd like to say gz was one that I arrived at but alas it was not to be.In fact it just light have been out of reach for one team member who sent out the sos for another to join and complete signing duties. What a shemozzle this all is.Thanks for the entertainment! This is find number 5566 !

Found by the pirates. One both or all. Who knows at this point. Although I suspect it was solo. The wind was low, (relatively) with the hair in our faces, snacks assigned, morale all over the place and a hot sun beating down.. What could possibly go wrong? I solved this puzzle Thanks 4ando for the maximum effort!Yo ho ho this is find number 5555. !

I've always had a soft spot for star wars, having grown up with the original trilogy on regularly. It's amusing now to muse on the state of things.Once upon a time We dreamt of Lucas making a sequel or another trilogy. Then it happened. Then another trilogy, of course to round things off.Now we have so many related tv shows I can barely keep up.This cache was found while I was in sight. I was so close, almost there. Found first. Dagnavit. Something like that. Cheers !

This was another long solved puzzle that's sat there in the pile waiting for hunting. When direction was inquired by geomate Flutterberyl as to a day out I threw a couple of suggestions out, both coincidentally water based adventures, either the maroochy rivers assortment of solved puzzles or somersets mostly solved geoart.Somerset clearly won out. I can't recall now but perhaps geocachingtoolbox was involved somehow. This is find number 5573But only the sixth time I've ever come across this particular combination. Possibly signed as the pirates. Or each of us separately. Thanks 4ando.May the force be with you.

This puzzle was among the last I solved prior to our camping adventure at lake Somerset. With a small nudge from a geomate, a slap to the forehead moment brought sense to the situation and the puzzle was soon solved. Our fearless captain hunted this one down for her crew while they were gallivanting off elsewhere. Thanks 4ando for the mystery geocache! This is find number 5578And the twenty third time I've found this combination! POh wow this cache hasn't been found since last July. A whole lotta unloved.

Another solved on puzzle from the pile . A little research found me the alphabet required.Found by team pirate. Or The pirates. Or pirate pilates. Pirate pilots. I was probably gallivanting off over there somewhere.Typical.Takk 4ando

This cache was highly entertaining! For so many reasons. First the puzzle was solveable and enjoyable some time back. Then I was assigned retrieval duties to this one and so readily assented and off I trotted. Second one on my solved puzzle list I amusingly watched my numbers tick down until I realized the inevitable. Looked up and there it was taunting me. Sometime later we were all gathered together again and barreled back over to gz here. Fitting that number one is tethered in just such a way as to provide a memorable retrieval. Our captain alighted for the wade and sign which kept us entertainingly oaring ourselves in place as best possible. If any of the entire series was offered up as a recall, this one would most definitely be up there. Fantastic work, congratulations and thank you to everyone involved.

This was found by us first I think when we moored the boat at this next peninsula.A short walk with tbusue over to here while Flutterberyl was on a distant hill also chasing puzzles. Found quickly thanks to the tether telltale.Thank you for the puzzle and cache!

This was the second solved puzzle I stomped to on our first day on the lake.Looking at it now It boggles the mind how I reached a solution, however I'm certain it involved much googling of theme related searches.Thankfully the hide was much easier to find hanging around like it was. Reachable by this team member.Danke 4ando.

I think it was at this cache that the cap was missing and the logbook inside the open ziplock bag was a sudden gross mush.We added some more logpaper in a new a ziplock bag,Then put it in then shoved in the rest as cover/lid. but it still needs a lid, if the next finders could bring along a soft drink bottle cap. The puzzle was an easy and fun solve sometime back. Possibly during a lockdown.Good times. Thanks 4ando for such an epic undertaking.

This was the last one to find before going back to the boat. I love the old random bits of farm machinery that's just lying around nearby. This was a fun puzzle to solve. Staring real hard actually helpedThank you for creating this awesome series that would have taken many a long nights rest away. Know it was worth it, every geocacher loves having a (soon-to-be) yellow helmet over somerset.

Another solved puzzle found by one two or all of our merry band of adventurers.A fun solve. The at at walkers are awesome.Reminds me of those two spinoff tales.Hhmm. What were they again..?That's it! Caravan of courage!Something about endor. mission to mebe. It's been awhile. Those ewoks were great. Thanks for all the nostalgic reminisces star wars evokes.*Random light speeder sound*

I can't quite recall where I was for the signing of this solved puzzle. Surely I was there to help.In some capacity. It all got a bit confusing.Somewhere right near the start. We decided it best to go along for the ride. After all, it was a lovely day out on the water. The boat was a bit slow, but you get that.It did its job admirably and that's all one can ask really. The word team also has me in it! Arigato !

Knowing what I was looking for made a big difference. It made the search a lot faster for one.Having borrowed a kayak and launched from the spit a few years back I knew what I was in for.Thankfully the lantana was most ferocious in the south portion of the lake and that's where I'd made my handful of finds before. Not that I didn't encounter head high lantana at the mid section of the lake, because we certainly did. This puzzle was also solved quickly akd added to the pileGracias 4ando!

Another puzzle solved a few years ago then it's sat in the solved puzzle folder till now. Found by us, solved by one or all with various names attached, or not. Hopefully all had dates but who knows in the grand scheme of things what happened. This was day one. The whole weekend entailed.Thank you 4ando for creating this series that drew us in like a magnet.Ninth time I've found this combination.

This puzzle was a fun early solve. I even recall the film scene of this in my head. I walked to here after a debacle over yonder. Singing out to the girls didn't get me anywhere but happy. So I kept moseying on then. Thanks 4ando for the puzzle and cache! This is find number 5552 !

This was the last solved puzzle piece I was tasked with retrieving while out on Lake Somerset.A cool gz I could see from afar and knew where I had to be. It was only much later I heard tales of a snake in a stump. Crikey. Luckily this one was clear. Then I stomped off towards yonder. Thanks 4ando for the fun easy puzzle and good weathered hide at gz.

This is the first cache we found on day one of our many a musing mini mis adventures mystery tour on Lake Somerset. After dining ourselves on all the green dots on the menu as an entree, we were ready to gorge ourselves on the main course with all the blue jigsaw pieces liberally scattered about.Mooring nearby, I stalked towards gz here for a quick find for the crew. This is find number 5550 !Thanks 4ando for the entertainment!

Dropped by here yesterday for a good long hunt in the scrub with campari59. My luck with caches on the range.

31-Oct-24
After our "August" debacle earlier . We came up the range for some scones and seeing as we were parked nearby I couldn't help but show campari59 (formerly muggle aunt) another hide by the same co.Her reaction was priceless.

Well..I managed to get the coords for the final but the first step upset and angered my company so much I figured it best we went off in search of other less precarious positions to place me instead. Will have to come back one day to complete. Who knows when that'll be. Took a while for the heart to pump normally again, that's for sure.

A fun tree to climb.Of the three names added to the log today, realistically only I will one day log a find here.....no doubt in a couple a years. Something to work towards I guess.

30-Oct-24
This was the first cache for the day today and it already started with a debacle. Actually it was the second cache found, or signed rather.. for as soon as we arrived we split up. Mum went towards the traffic box for some calculations, I went towards a tree to climb where I attracted the attention of the third member of our team today to gauge on her phone how far I was from the hide (my geomap had suddenly decided it wanted to be in feet and miles today as well)Mum wasn't having much fun number crunching so we came over to see what's up. Round and round we went and conferred with each other over the table again. Hmm. Which one is out.Turns out I could just tweak the number needed to gather success and then we were off to gz. Where we of course made it a great deal longer and harder than necessary. Good times.Eventually found what we were looking for and no dogs were heard barking the whole time.Go us.Back in the car to who knows. Thanks spiderwebbs4 for the I like traffic lights multi cache! Looking at the gallery pic now, it's different to today, they've added more clouds! .

This was the third geocache i found today. An I like traffic lights multi that had us pulling hairs, a three year unfound (recently replaced) I like traffic lights mystery cache and this blue frowny traditional.I also autographed two challenge caches It might be years before I can actually log. It's the small things. So happy to have found this cache at this awesome lookout we had to ourselves today. Found immediately where I was looking last time. Avenged! Thanks Liz and Bruce for hiding a cache at this great spot for one eighteen something years ago!

This is one of those awkward to get to caches if you aren't in a car to stop suddenly.I've passed it many times in the bus and plotted my attack. Came within cooee not so long ago while walking the nearby great walk but I was carrying weight and it was in the opposite direction and I was tired.Considered getting off at flaxton and checking out this barn they got going at the same time. But then campari59 put the call out for a geoouting up the range and sunshine58 and I jumped onboard.I was tasked with the geohunt for this one, an awkward long grass hill bushbash. Luckily it's been there that long there's a geo trail (or people have dumped enough rubbish near gz). Found soon enough due to being a little exposed. And inside was full of water. The logbook was totally wet through. Signed as best I could. More like through the paper. Definitely needs a new log/tlc/a maintenance run.Funnily enough this cache has an attribute that helps qualify for another cache I've signed. Thank you Mzilikazi for hiding a geocache up here with two views.

We were right in the middle of a great day out on the range with mum (sunshine58) and the former muggle aunt (campari59) clearing a good handful of caches that have been a bit awkward to get to in the past. We were now heading south towards Mary cairncross and this was the second lookout cache I insisted we stop a moment at. (Along this road at least ) A great piknik stone gazebo with two large tables but no bbq!? A nice flat grassy patch nearby added a pleasant touch to the rolling view in front of us.Mum found this one first while we were jumping around like mad fools looking elsewhere. I discovered a rufous fantail nest in the roof, little fella just sitting there watching us. Took a moment to get the tiny thing unwound then rewound. Possibly signed as SSC. Thanks konie for hiding a cache at this terrific place for one over seventeen years back!

Out on the range again with mum and an aunt.We were slowly winding our way down towards Mary Cairncross for some lunch but there were a few random spots we had to stop at first. This being one. Another great lookout spot. Thanks konie for choosing to hide a cache up here some seventeen odd years back and keeping it alive all this time for us to keep finding! This is(ish) find number 5568.

Long have I wondered how or rather when would be the day that I go for this cache.Passing in various busses and cars, always hurriedly going somewhere else.Well today I decided we should finally hunt it down. With my two geobuddies sunshine58 and campari59 out for the day, we first stopped at the big pineapple, then this awkward intersection.Parked below and scurried up the dirt path topside for a relatively long hunt on the bridge. Finally discovered We cursed the nano gods(factory) and scampered back to the car and onwards. Thanks witchdog and wallabywanderers for highlighting at least inadvertently this solomn memorial with a geocache.

Oh wow. I positively had to peel myself away from climbing this tree instantaneously upon arrival. It's just one of those trees. Big clear steps straight up. Holy moly. I would totally have hidden it way up there. But of course that's not where it is.Reading the hint before two words struck a chord and when we strolled on over It was the first place I reached. Huzzah! So what could have been a long hard hide turned out to be super quick. And on to the next one in this outta the way place. Thanks duppers for taking on this hot potato cache!

I love beach parties!!

The race was on from the car. Cept I was all over this one.I unfairly rounded on sunshine58 here in regards the host and it's dedicated interest in oxidation. Interesting to learn about this ted duffield chap from a couple a logs. Yval's was most interesting. Thanks konie for highlighting this tiny little park with a geocache.

Wow what fascinating reading that is.So much, I did some googling and found the exact text this is copied from and enjoyed going down the rabbit hole for a good while later. For anyone interested, the two pictures at the bottom of the description..Bottom image is of a "Bullock wagon loaded with logs in the Eudlo district, ca 1905."Second from bottom is"Bullock teams at Eumundi hauling wagons loaded with giant Kauri pine logs, ca 1915."It all starts to make sense how the Sunshine Coast was first settled. There was a lot of eye watering timber on the range that was felled and shot down the range to a rail line purposely setup to cart it away. Hence why Landsborough has a railway station and Caloundra does not. Some of the villages that sprung up then have adapted and evolved over time to become quaint tourist hamlets (like Maleny or Eudlo) while others that were purpose built have entirely vanished (like Mill Point at Boreen Point or Campbellville near Beerwah)I've added a pic of a notched stump I came across up on the range somewhere nearish mapleton, emblazoned with an L. And a 15/16 Brand I like to imagine was by Leichhardt on his way through once upon a time. My notes for the jigsaw says it took me five hours and seventeen minutes which i clearly have mind blanked for sanity. Oh. And reading everyone's logs, I dare say the past finder has replaced it a lot lower than usual unless everyone's being sarcastic in the logs. An easy quick fish spotted immediately upon arrival. Oh, cool little park! There's even a bbq and a cute little creek. Great use of an awkward spot. Thanks Dahumbug for the fascinating timber industry deep dive this puzzle brought about and showing me somewhere cool with historical context.

17-Oct-24
a long time back I saw this small power trail on eenie creek and was immediately intrigued. Not having a kayak I shelved the idea for a future foray.A few years later and a few coastal kayak cache capers done and dusted eenie creek again started to take prominence.A few nudges were implied to the now cache owner on a possible maintenance run before once again hunting down easier fodder. Then suddenly it was all happening. Someone spoke to someone else and all I had to do was make my way to the closest bus station to be picked up and whisked off to a new projected entry point. This was the first cache we found on our morning out on this beautiful creek.Wow, a whole lotta unloved.Thank you AtTheLakeHouse for adopting this cache as your own and keeping this awesome series alive for us all.

After kayaking eenie creek I was on cloud nine and half floated here and around all afternoon. My kayaking mate dropped me off at a long cache name with a tricky hide, from there I walked here!A quick find as I spied it with the eyes upon approach. Huzzah! Luckily no one was about, then I scampered on towards scouts. Thanks Thunderbird_1 for the geocache!

After such a fun kayak adventure on eenie creek all morning, my geomate AtTheLakeHouse dropped me off at another tricky gz then I walked as far as this gz before starting to walk back towards tewantin.A clever hide in plan sight that would easily deceive the passing muggle. Thanks for showing me here with a geocache!
