Found with 3KidsCaching. Took: geocoin. Left: Pink Teddy and Canadian Friendship bracelet.
TFTC - gorgeous spot.

Found with 3KidsCaching and some new cachers. The 6 kids loved the playground, and thoroughly enjoyed finding the cache.

The cache listing says the Trackable "Oompah Loompah" should have been in this cache but there was nothing there.

Nice entry to Goulburn. Found with 3KidsCaching (it's school holidays again...). TFTC. Left "I'm Racing" Geocoin.

TFTC. It was nice to wander in such a beautiful park. The fountain is one you don't find very often: the kids were very impressed. Found with 3KidsCaching. TNLN.

01-Oct-08
This was our 2nd visit to this site, and thank goodness for 3KidsTravelling who finally found the cache - slightly further on from where we had been looking on our last visit and at the start of this one. Yay for the kids! I must admit I was somewhat nervous here though -not so much about the drop off the rocks, but because we are at the start of snake season, and the obvious places to look are all great snake hidey-holes. Luckily we saw no snakes, but it is certainly the time of year to be cautious.

Finally we went there - oh what a gorgeous walk. I had truly not expected such a splendid walk and view. Took 3KidsCaching and they got to see plenty of birdlife in the wetlands, including a nesting pelican and some black swans. Thanks for such a beautiful cache location.

Visited this one with 3KidsCaching. Should have paid more attention to the Google maps before we went in ... managed to pick the 'interesting' roads through the pine forest - the one that had the huge slippery, waterfilled bog holes and then the one that was all sharp rocks that had huge potential to be very unfriendly to the aging tyres. And then ended up on an exposed rock surface come road that had quite large drop offs/climbs - lucky we had the heavy duty 4wd, but not quite the type of thing to take other people's children on without having mentioned to anyone that we would be out there - there were visions in our heads of becoming slightly stuck in that Forest of Fear...

Still, we saw the world's most interesting pine tree half way down the sharp rock road (see the picture) - how did it ever manage to grow like that?

Finally we found that truly amazing ghostly forest - how amazing is that in the midst of all the normal gum trees.

Followed the GPS on a winding approach to the cache and it took the kids a little while to actually find it. I don't think I would like to have come in here by night - there were some scary rock drops that could have caught us unawares.

But then I would not like to have come in here by night at all. I for one could certainly not get away from that eery feeling. The kids wanted to know why it was called the forest of fear, and I had to tell them that it was the pine forest: nothing grows underneath and the native forest nearby is scared of it. They quickly noticed how quiet it was with no birds or wildlife.

Anyhow, it was a great spot. TFTC TNLN

Visited this one again - this time with 3KidsCaching. It made a nice easy finish to a day of caching. It was still well camouflaged this time - unlike last time we were here.

Took: TB Canadian Friendship bracelet
TB Yen Coin

Will get some ks and photos on these.

Left: Punk Zippy, who has had a lovely few weeks travelling around with us.

Such a perfect view on such a perfect day. 3KidsCaching enjoyed this one, and of course had a play with the human clock. We enjoyed leaving a new trackable here. Barry the Flatback Turtle should enjoy watching the local wildlife.

Took 3KidsCaching out for the day - they loved it and we all had fun - 3 new caching addicts...lol

It took them a little while to find the cache but once they had, it was all systems go.

We have been wanting to visit here again, and to place some new trackables into the cache. Decided to do a swap.

Thanks again - such a handy cache!

Took: Gertie Bear and TravelBug
Left: Brian's Yellow Porsche and World Diabetes Day Geocoin.

Went with 3KidsCaching and let them play in the trees. There are some interesting roadworks happening here - it is going to be interesting to see what happens to the intersection - could be going to straighten it out or maybe put in a roundabout.

This cache was out in the open when I found it. I placed it behind the tree, but there is not much camouflage available for it.

Also, there were no trackables in the cache.

Nice drive by cache though - just right on a working day in working clothes - easy cache on the way to Canberra.

My apologies to all for not logging this sooner: major technical problems has meant no computer access till now.

We found this cache on a quiet afternoon drive home from Canberra, and yes, we took PunkZippy for a drive. He had been enjoying all the kangaroos around there but was finding it a bit noisy, so on the quiet afternoon when we were there he was happy to accompany 2DogsTravelling.

Took PunkZippy.

Lovely spot to stop and stretch the doggy legs. Glad there has been no rain recently, though.

I have retrieved the World Diabetes Day geocoin from the cache. Was planning to swap in another geocoin, but managed to leave them at home!

Just a note: there are supposed to be 3 other trackables in this cache, but there was only the World Diabetes Day one. The others have all moved on somewhere, sometime.

Thanks for the cache!

What a lovely view Flash has.

A very nice spot that I have driven by for years thinking I really should stop one day and have a look. Now that I am a geocacher, I have the reason and I am very glad I did. The early spring blossoms were peeping out, and the sheep on the hillside were looking quite content.

Thanks for prompting me to finally stop and check out this lovely spot. And to learn a little more about Flash.

By golly, what a busy day it was.

All those muggle truckers and car drivers speeding on by. I had to look very nonchalant trying to discover the cache, return to the car with it and then put it back again. Maybe it is the roadworks at Coolac and everyone was using a bypass, but this road was incredibly busy on a Friday afternoon.

Still, the Cootamundra Wattle is in full bloom at this time of year, so maybe I just looked like a silly tourist with a camera...lol

The current log 'books' seem a little damp - maybe the film canister is not completely weatherproof any more - now that there has been a fall of rain.

Anyhow, nice reminder of where the name comes from.

Thanks for the cache. TNLN

I love a nice drive by! It was easy to find - and those warning signs certainly look serious. Two fly-by's while I filled in the log - a busy morning into Canberra airport. A nice stop on a quick trip in/out of Canberra.

Took : Trackable: Yellow porsche
Took: Trackable: Barry the Flatback Turtle

Left: Trackable: Bushies Screwdriver
Left: Geocoin: spin coin "What Goes Around"

TFTC - woof woof

Just a note though: There was no Caterpillar travel bug there.

Yee hah - found this one! Now we know what the caches around here are like so we can go and find more. Have taken the beautiful spinning coin and will move it on its way very soon.

2Dogs were replaced by 2Boys for the day - great fun all round.

Thanks for the cache. Took: Trackable spinning Geocoin, Left Nothing

This was the 3rd cache we found today (and there was one we could not find - will have to look again another day). Very well camouflaged (I had looked earlier in the day and did not see it where it was eventually found). Swapped the 2 Dogs for 2 Boys for the day : their eyesight was much better than mine, obviously.
Took the Screwdriver and will get it on its way within a few days. Have nothing to leave yet, however we hope to have something to put in there later in the week.

Thanks for the cache!

Thank goodness the container was orange, or we would never have found it! It was our 2nd find of 3 for the day. We had a muggle reading his paper in the car with headphones on, but he paid us absolutely no attention so we continued and wrote in the log.

Our first geocaching exercise and what a way to start. We are now addicts. I think maybe we have entered these gates now..... the road is paved with good intentions.....lol

Great place for a quick break on a long trip. Have crossed across here many times over the years and now have a great excuse to stop and let the dogs have a quick run.

Signed the log, took nothing. Visited with Grasshopper. Thanks for the experience.

Our second cache, and we had to follow the GPS along the tracks. 2 Dogs could not exit the vehicle because of the horrible 3star bindis. Lots of things in the cache.

Thanks for the cache, Took nothing, signed the log. Visited with Grasshopper.

It was just on sunset, and we were all getting tired, with a long way to go before we could get home. Had a really quick look amongst the timber, but the cache did not leap out. It was blowing a really cold wind from the Antarctic, so decided to leave those tempting TBs there, and returned to the warm cars and kept on travelling east. Looking forward to having a bit more time to look next time through.
