Logs for Atpaw

Pounced this one just a few minutes before I had to leave Sabakitty's place and head back to work in Novacastria.
Pretty quick and easy find, even if we had to be mindful of some people in their car watching the sunset not far from GZ.
Thanks! Atpaw 'n Sabakitty

Introducing SabaKitty to geocaching. After two failed attempts at finding nearby caches, we tried this one as a last resort... Got it without too much fuss! Left the swapping to Saba.
Thanks!

*grins* What's weird is that the last time I went mountainbiking around that area, about a month ago, it occured to me how it'd be a neat place for a cache.
Someone had to do it!

The furries strike again. Three of us this time, with a pleasant walk through the parks to the west, along the shoreline, to the cache site.
Lots of interesting old structures too. I'm quite disappointed that Newcastle doesn't have many places like the cache site, with old machinery and the like - what few there are have been barricaded off or removed entirely.
Cheers!

Lupie and Atpaw padding around Sydney again. This one was a fun find, galavanting around the Gardens after locating West of the Summit.
Lupie took the little wooden mouse and left wolf stickers.
Cheers!

This was a pretty tricky find.. All the urban canyons had my poor GPS12 confused to all heck, even out in the open! The last 50 metres of walking was done by extrapolation of our course due to loss of signal, before my GPS gave up in frustration.
Nevertheless, it wasn't too hard to find (with the help of the clue!)
Thanks!

Second geocache for the day, after knocking over Sugar Sugar nearby. For some reason, riding my mountainbike up Mt. Sugarloaf seemed like a good idea a few days ago.
I do wonder about all the 4x4 drivers who were using the access road. The road's as flat and smooth and 'decent' as it gets without actually putting tar on it. A 2WD vehicle should have no trouble.
Regardless... Looked all over the place for this one, ignoring the view for the time being. Was just about to give up, walking back to my mountainbike nearby, when I spotted the cache. Hah!
Left CD, took water balloons to shower my less-adventurous friends with.
Thanks, Bronze!

Nice easy find after a "nice" hard climb up Mt. Sugarloaf on my mountainbike.
The rock pointed out in the logbook's an interesting one. Spotted it on the way in.
Left a little tiger plush toy, and took the waterproof pouch - the sky looked rather grumbly at the time, very humid and threatening. It could have been a lifesaver for my camera, if it started to rain!
Cheers,
Atpaw

Yeah, I'll prolly shuffle along. Might even try to drag some of my regular 'helpers' too.

Second cache for the day after finding Giba, with Lupie still in tow.
This one took a bit of finding, and some very "creative" tourist-esque photos of each other to form an elaborate muggle-confusion-shield to keep our activities more covert.
Verrry nicely hidden. Thanks from Lupie and Atpaw! Lupie left some wolf stickers for folks to take home if they wish, too!
Then, it was off to Oh Darling. Well. And lunch.

Third and last one for the day, with Lupie.
Found this one without too much trouble. Again, more crazy tourist-photo-esque antics to confuse the mundane hoardes passing by.
Thanks!

First cache for the day, with Lupie in tow.. Actually, Lupie spotted this one first. Very well hidden!
Thanks!
And then it was off to the Darling Harbour to find Harbourside.......
Thanks!

Despite still not being able to walk after running training (got roped into joining my workplace's City 2 Surf corporate team, argh!), I decided to grin and bear the pain, and take two of the usual crew geocaching once more.
This one's the first for the day. Pretty easy find... And a very nice view. Thanks!

Second up for the day (first was Over Hill, Under Hill)... This is very bizarre. We tried for this cache a few weeks ago but aborted because of the time and other factors... Came back today without changing the co-ords in the GPS, and it's pointing us about 500-1000 metres from where it was suggesting the cache to be last time, on the opposite side of the road. What the heck? Found it easily at the "new" point.
Unfortunately the jar was flooded when we opened it up... Logbook is intact, but some of the swaps are a little soggy. Drained it all out 'n tried to dry things off a bit before replacing it all. No swaps, but Seph took a photo of me with the camera provided.

I concur with CJB; the cache is gone without a trace - a lot of new rubbish, debris, and a 3 metre wide swathe of trampled grass aside.
Perhaps it's time for me to make my first cache (nearby, just somewhat better hidden)...

Introducing another furry friend to geocaching. After a failed attempt at 'Giba' due to our merry group going down the wrong penisula, we left the third of our number back at home and made a mad dash on foot to 'The Crow' in the hope that we'd find it and make it back before the ominously looming storm!
Found the cache without too much trouble. No swaps for me, but Lupie left a sheet of Wolf stickers and took a 1 Lira coin.
Thanks for the neat urban cache!

Yes, it's in a very highly travelled area, but I suspect it might be intact - it's fairly well hidden. I'll take a look after work on Monday.

Always look twice.
With a very tight clock running as I needed to catch a train home to Newcastle in little more than an hour, I managed to find the cache (after half an hour of stealthy searching), drop off the travelbug Roverandom after taking him to Luna Park (that's kinda like the moon...), signed the logbook. No swaps.
Mission Accomplished! Good luck, Roverandom!

Hurrah, we found it! (With a little hint from Mix76) Took the travelbug (Roverandom) and a GameBoy, left a noisy plush toy lion to help SteelRat find the cache, since the toddler wasn't even in the cache anymore, letalone making noise!
Not sure what to say, Mix76. Maybe someone found it and didn't log? The guys were pretty elated at finding the cache today after about two hours of scouring the area yesterday with no luck at all. Apparently there were two whales visible from the bluff today, but we were too busy staring at our shoes and making sure nobody spotted us.
Thanks again, Mix76. Nicely done!

Didn't need a GPS for this one. We're in the centre of the frame. Top left: Atpaw, Top right: Daniel, Bottom left: Dane, Bottom Right: Shaun. Photo credit: Henry, who was too lazy to do the first two caches today (something about 'studying for an exam'). Terrain difficulty should be closer to 4, as it was an ordeal getting a carpark!

I suspect this cache may have been destroyed. Checked all around quite thoroughly (including the site The Bronze has photographed, and even in the nearby drain access!) as I had half an hour up my sleeve after work, but to no avail. :/ Will have another look during lunch tomorrow, but I fear the worst.
Only took three attempts, a firm prod from Mix76 to put me back in the right direction, much headscratching, and confusion, and most of all LUCK (my second attempt disrupted the hiding spot enough that the cache was finally visible on the third, later in the arvo!). Fortunately, no mosquito swarms! Some very neat sketches done by the others. Thanks, Mix76!

The closest cache to my house, and the last visit (prior to mine) was apparently on my birthday, so how could I not resist making this my first attempt at geocaching. Didn't find it the first time and had to enlist the help of a nearer friend's internet access to read the clues more carefully rather than simply punching in the coords 'n heading off. Heh.
Very accessible for mountainbikers, too, which is a bonus. Took a nifty lil' Godzilla toy, left a Lotus keyring. Left a pen for the logbook, too, since there wasn't one. Thanks for setting up the cache! Very fun!
