Logs for Ceolmhor

22-Feb-18
This was a really enjoyable cache, which fully deserves the favorite point I'm giving it. I also enjoyed showing photos of it to several people on our Adriatic cruise who have shown an interest in geocaching. Thanks for a great hide. Smile

20-Feb-18
No luck for me today. I found the exact spot, according to the spoiler photo, but there was no cache there. I looked all around, in the hope that it had been misplaced nearby, but I didn't find it. Luckily, I found the nearby Port of Kotor cache, or I might have left Montenegro empty-handed, as the weather wasn't the best for climbing to the Chapel.

07-Nov-17
Found this cache on a walk around the downtown and waterfront area. I found 5 of 5, and had a really nice time. Thanks for your caches. I added Hong Kong (and Macao) to my country list with this visit.

I enjoyed this cache, as it's in a very busy place, and yet there's enough going on here that people really don't pay much attention to what you're doing. I felt comfortable both retrieving and replacing the cache. Thanks for a nice hide. Smile

07-May-16
Saw both monuments. Thanks for a nice cache to round out our visit. Left a pathtag. Smile

10-Jan-15
We got to within about 100 feet of the station, but weren't allowed to land. We did a Zodiak tour of Paradise Bay, though. The wildlife and lichen viewing was spectacular. Thanks for telling us the story of this place.

04-Jan-15
Thanks for this very enjoyable, but challenging, cache. I had to outwait many smoking muggles, passers-by, and tango-infatuated photographers. And that was only to get the cache. Putting it back required waiting for even better conditions. Eventually, though, everything was right, and I returned the cache to its proper location, though not without some difficulty. This definitely earned the favorite point I'm giving it. Smile

17-Sep-13
Actually, I already felt stupid, so this cache did no further damage. Wink I enjoyed this pretty and interesting object, though. Thanks for the cache. Message sent. Smile

18-Aug-13
I decided to stop for a few geocaches on my way home from an autocross at Front Range Airport today. I found 7 for 7, and enjoyed being out here with a nice wind and the suggestion of a storm in the distance. Thanks to all for the hides. Smile

11-May-13
I awarded my self a pleasant, one-hour geo-outing after a day of autocross racing at Front Range Airport. Found 8 of 9. Thanks for the cache. Smile

20-Mar-13
I found the many crosswalks, and located the cache without difficulty. Traded PTs (thanks, quartpotpobblebonk). I actually checked out this cache last night, to be sure I could find it quickly this morning, because I'm using it for a special purpose. Last year, when we went to Abu Dhabi, I strong-armed a cabby into taking me to a geocache on the way to the airport for our flights back to Denver. That allowed me to set my current personal record for distance between two caches done on the same day at 7822 miles. However, the convenient placement of this cache (thanks, pwags), combined with the convenient placement of the International Date Line (thanks, er..., whoever) should allow me to increase that to a bit over 8800 miles on this longest of all days. Smile Have you noticed, BTW, that geocachers keep more statistics than (country-specific cultural reference alert) even baseball fans? TFTC. Smile All TBs are gone, BTW. Per Groundspeak policy, CO should move the lost ones to location Unknown. Later: the second cache, near Denver International Airport, is here.

19-Mar-13
Yesterday, I looked around here, and decided I knew where the cache should be (thanks to the hint), but a smoker-muggle set up shop very nearby, and I had to move on. Today, I went right to the spot. L PT. TFTC. Smile

No luck today, although there seem to be relatively few ways of hiding a cache near my GZ. I don't know if the cache is gone, or my imagination is just failing me. Again. Smile

17-Mar-13
No joy today. I found lots of wood chips, but very little inspiration.

Nice hide in a nice, quiet, muggle-free location. TFTC. Smile

A nice hide, and a nice bonus after watching the nearby F1 race. Big Grin. TFTC.

Yes, it's most certainly art, but I don't think you actually doubted that. Smile

I naturally think of waves here, but a range of more abstract interpretations is also certainly possible. IAC, thanks for showing it to us.

16-Mar-13
I'm just as happy not to have been here on the day that arch fell, but someone is lucky enough to still be telling a great story! Smile IAC, thanks for an interesting earthcache. Message sent.

15-Mar-13
It's disappointing that there aren't 12 (or 11, 10, etc.), but encouraging to know (and see) that replacements are being formed, and very interesting to learn how. TFTC. Message sent, and I'll post a photo on return from this trip. Smile

Looked a while without success, then had to branch out a bit. TFTC. L mushrooms TB & PT.

I had a few minutes to enjoy the sea spray here while waiting for our take-out food to be ready at 12 Rocks Pub. What a beautiful spot, and it's especially nice in late afternoon on this windy day. L Evil Micro GC & PT. TFTC. Smile

I enjoyed this site, took some good photos, and found that it even has an earthcache explaining how this sort of geological structure occurs. What could be better? TFTC. Smile Message sent. I'll post my photo on return from this trip.

What a great spot! This is definitely my favorite of the erosional features we saw along the Great Ocean Road, and I appreciated very much the explanation of how it formed. Message sent. I've also uploaded my photo. Unfortunately my camera is also my GPS (I use an iPhone), so I had no way to include it in the photo. TFTC. Smile

A nice view, indeed, from the cache, even though it's not so impressive from the car. L Signal, Slug travelers, PT. TFTC. Smile

14-Mar-13
This was a very enjoyable hunt, and gets a favorite point for a clever container and hide, and for a pleasant setting. TFTC. Smile

Looked and looked, but had no joy here. I suspect I'm making it harder than it should be. Sad

13-Mar-13
I'm not sure what the problem is with the DNFs here. I went right to the spot, and found the cache with great ease. Cache is in good shape. L Annabelle and Green Cat TBs, dipped several others that are traveling with me, and left a pathtag. Thanks for the cache and the beautiful scenery.

12-Mar-13
I enjoyed the hunt here. This is a particularly well-placed cache, in that it allows hunting in a very high-muggle area with little likelihood of being closely observed. TFTC.

I enjoyed both the sculpture and the explanation of the local geology and flooding. Thanks for the cache. Smile

Thanks for a very enjoyable earthcache in a beautiful spot. And, of course, for the geology lesson. Your earthcache motivated me to come up here on my rest day in Queenstown after the Milford Track, and my son and 3yo grandson came along for the ride. Message sent. Smile

06-Mar-13
We looked for quite a while without success, and then were properly embarrassed when we read the hint and went right to the cache. Thanks for giving us a cache to find as we prepare to start the Milford Track in the morning. Found with xanthobacter.

This one took some looking. We overlooked the first waypoint on the first pass, found the coordinates off on the second and needed the hint, and again missed seeing the final on our first pass. We still had a very good time. TFTC. Found with xanthobacter. L compass TB.

Thanks for hiding a cache where we could grab it on our way out to the Milford Track. You also showed us a beautiful photo opportunity we otherwise wouldn't have discovered. Smile

Some days, you just get lucky. We had no idea we would be near a geocache here, but we stopped to change bus driverNdola the way to Te Anau for the Milford Track, and noticed this nearby cache. Found by xanthobacter as I looked at a similar location nearby. TFTC. Smile

04-Mar-13
I didn't see anything Frisbee-related here, but it's a very nice park. We (xanthobacter and I) had to hunt a while here, and I eventually gave up and read the hint. That narrowed our search down a bit, and we soon found the cache. I took the three travelers that were in the cache, all of which have goals I can help with. And I left three travelers that would like to visit the South Island. Also dipped a bunch more travelers that are just dropping by. TFTc. Smile

I enjoyed this earthcache, in its beautiful setting. Message sent, TFTC.

Thanks for another nice cache in this beautiful park and setting. L Smiley TB & PT, T Chemie TB. Smile

Wow! What an amazing tree! We had no trouble finding the cache, but I'll have to admit that I read the hint, after reading yur description and concluding it was a problem to find. I wish I had first tried it without the hint, as I think we would have found it. Found with xanthobacter, a new cacher who has discovered geocache on this visit to New Zealand. TFTC. The log is very full, and I had no replacement with me.

This one took lots of patience, as we had to outwait muggles at both ends of the visit, and some searching was required for the cache, as well. Nice hide. T Slug TB, L Pythagoras GC & PT. TFTC. Smile

03-Mar-13
On our last geo-outing on the North Island, xanthobacter and I enjoyed this cache. We're not sure we correctly figured out where all three crewmen sat or stood, but we did find the cache easily enough, and appreciated the history. L PT. TFTC. Smile

We looked quite a while for this, but had no success. Hope it's still there somewhere, but I'm not optimistic.

Found this on our second try, with a bit of help from the kind cache owner. I had copied the questions onto paper, and made an error in the note I wrote for question B. We enjoyed this nice field puzzle, which was xanthobacter's first puzzle, and it helped in our quest to do as many cache types as possible during our visit to New Zealand (5 so far). This is a nice hide. T GC, L 4 travelers and a pathtag. TFTC. Smile

01-Mar-13
No luck today, though I really thought we were looking in the right place. I'm going to send a message to the CO and see what help we might be able to get. I'm from Colorado, in the US, and was caching with a brand new cacher, xanthobacter, from Georgia in the US. We're here for the Ironman, and will be here for two more days.

We (xanthobacter and I) had a great time with this enjoyable trek. It's a beautiful park, with a game that allows us to explore and experience the park to its best advantage. And we might have gotten some exercise along the way, too. Wink And thanks for giving us a chance to log a Wherigo on our vacation trip to New Zealand, where we're watching our children (xanthobacter's daughter and my son, who are married to each other) compete in the Ironman before we set off for the Milford Track. Smile

28-Feb-13
Nice hide. Log is dry, but has been wet, and is swollen and crumbly. Pieces came off as I handled it. TFTC. great view! Smile

[No joy today.] I thought this would be in the tree to the south, but I searched there for quite a while, then searched the bench and the other tree. Then I gave up and read the hint, which seems to make it clear that it's on the left side of the bench, as that's the only thing that has a constant left side no matter which direction you come from. So I searched there really carefully again, but still couldn't find it. Could be gone, or could just be me, as usual. Sad
