51 E.N.F.O.R.C.E.E.R.S picked up around 500kg from around the Whangarei Aquatic Centre.360kg of rubbish and approximately 140kg of recycling and salvage.Whangarei aquatic center wanted to host a clean up around their facility and reached out to us. We based ourselves around the back of the facility where the old car park used to be. Slowly more and more people came out of the woodwork and soon we had used up all of our highvis vests. We spread out directly around the facility, along the boardwalk, around the mangroves, down the roads, and even over to Hatea Drive across the bridge. The F.O.R.C.E. team stuck around the main area to help sort out the items as they were brought back to help get the volunteers back out. Kori the penguin also turned up to help clean up around the building. Some interesting finds today were a mattress, bike frame, lots a of car parts including a steering wheel and two wheels, steaming pot, toilet brush holder, pair of boots, a kids floatation ring full of air, liscence plates and a live Australian winged weta. 3 shopping trolleys, planks of wood, sheets of metal, and some pallets.Next clean up will be on January 11th at 10am on Owhiwa Road, Parua Bay.

I found the nearby furniture fascinating. Wow what a zombie tree too.
What an event! We appreciated the effort the whole team went to to help get this organised. The weather was itself and wanted to attend in full form of new zealand for our visitors.Glad to be back in dunedin where the Megas began 12 years ago.See you at the block party. Thank you all.
Great to get another cache up here. Soon needed a bit of a sleep, so this road was perfect.
A few favorites drew us to this with short time. Fun hide, nice camo
While training it was handy for a quick find. Definitely need a CITO around here
Amazed this location is still as suitable as it is. Very open but great to tick another oldy off the list. Will need to have warmer weather to do the last 2000 cache.

While it was raining sideways we had some great shelter with the tree line. Great to see so many eager to get the area cleaned up and in the weather too.
A lovely blustery day for a field event. Good thing there was shelter nearby.

Wish you all could have been here.Until next time. Check out my log for photos and how the event went.
Event is still all go. Food getting ready, round door installed, treasure on show, sign up, welcome stones placed. Brisket slow cooking.
All is still well at this stage. Event will still be on for any who would like to come by.Understand the need for those who have canceled to remove any risk and to ensure around upcoming responsibilities.Catch you at another event later on.
Happy International Hobbit Day. I hosted the Geocaching event for the day and it was a flop and a success.Karen caught one of the tummy bugs that's been going around. The responsible thing to do was to inform those who were to attend.Attendees dropped like flies as many had other plans that getting sick would throw a huge spanner in the works.Completely understandable. We did get to have one guest who decided to take a chance. Logan and I still haven't had it, so who knows yet. Touch wood.I had gone shopping yesterday to stock up on the items needed, cleaned the house, and got the treasure and decorations ready. The dinner was set at 6.30, so a little improved planning and unlike last time (I was running about like a headless chook), everything lined up perfectly and dinner was ready promptly at 6.31.This didn't stop our 90cm ish Hobbit however, he needed his dinner sooner. Had happily chipped away at a plate of assorted food, and gorged himself on a few grapes. We now have plenty to feed ourselves this coming week ready to go too. Ah well, seconds anyone?! Don't mind if I do
At this stage, the event is still on.Karen was down with a stomach bug, that seems to be going around, yesterday afternoon. It's finished for her now.Logan and myself are fine currently.Just wanting to let you know so that you can make your mind up. If by chance I go down during the day, I will make another announcement asap. Touch wood.
Yesterday we talked up with Kamo Community Inc / Te Kamo Connect with their clean up Te Kamo day. At our station 21 E.N.F.O.R.C.E.E.R.s (Enthusiastic Neighbors For Our Real Clean Environment Eradicating Rubbish)picked up around 540kg from around Te Kamo village530kg of rubbish and approximately 10kg of recycling. We headed in to Te Kamo main car park to set up under one of the port wine magnolias, then heated over to meet the rest of the team at 9am. A huge group of the committed community members came together to clean up and look after the village centre. We spread out up and down the roads and alleyways looking for loose litter. Some of the team got stuck into the upper car park behind the Kamo Hotel cleaning up the smashed glass and gravel mess while some wandered a bit further. With only Nick being the only one of the team able to attend, it was great to have our regulars assisting with set up and pack down. Thank you all for the assistance this Some interesting finds today were a whole can of CRC, down pipe, 180min parking sign, 4 chairs, 80c, chisel, McDonalds monopoly tickets, wooden skittle, 6 bras, and 1 syringe.Next clean up will be posted on the events section and sent out through our email. Sign up here: www.force.org.nz We were given 3 spot prizes to give away to some attendees which were thankfully recieved. From the Kamo Inc post."A MASSIVE thank you to the volunteers who turned out today to help with the Te Kamo Village Clean Up and make it such a success - your efforts made a huge impact! Huge thanks to Nick and the For Our Real Clean Environment team for joining in the efforts, Helen from Citycare Property for pitching in and taking care of all the green waste, Jo from Tiakina Whangarei for running the trap giveaway (50 more rat traps out in the community!)Also got to thank again Wash Rite Northland, Duracrete Products, Greenfingers Growing Mixes Ltd, and Hammer Hardware Kamo for their amazing contributions to the initiative. So grateful to these amazing local businesses for their support! We plan to do this next year, learnt a lot from this one, so hopefully will be even bigger and better Many many photos to come! (Keep an eye on their page to see)CheersThe team at Kamo Community Inc."

Looking forward to tomorrow. We have a pantry full of potatoes, brisket, veges, breads and butter and other foods.Which should be a good base for the meal. I hear we also have a rotisserie chicken.Would appreciate any contributions for our shared meal. Note what you will bring and I won't need to over cook for the afternoon.
