Up in Heathcote for the long weekend staying in my caravan on the in-laws property. This cache was only 1.1km down the road...an easy find on a fresh Sunday morning. My daughter has gotten many of the caches in the area...but not this one...chalk one up for Dad! TFTC.

Down at the Island for a long weekend and popped out for a few caches. Spent quite some time looking and taking note of prior finder's notes, but still could not find in the end.

Down at the Island for a long weekend and popped out for a few caches. I had to stay low underneath for a while whilst muggles walked above me, with geo-daughter keeping watch until the coast was clear. TFTC.

Searched farther afield and finally found this one last week. My DZ co-ords had me 4-5 metres away next to the seats. TFTC

Had another good look for Rocky today but still can't find...Buzzies are a menace to humanity.

So yeah....FACE-PALM....finally found it, cunningly disguised as I had suspected it might be all along....my hints to add to some prior:
1) Trust the GZ coords
2) Can be reached by a reasonably sized adult ie. no climbing required
3) Don't be like me and drop stuff in your eye as you're looking up
TFTC.... Next stop.... Rocky....

After being disappointed at not finding Seaberry not far away this one I thought would be a sure thing. I was wrong. Despite suspicious looking tree in obvious location, all I came away with was ripped shorts from the damn barbed wire. I blame the thongs - not my usual footwear of choice for cachi G.
During an Easter stay on PI I had a look for this cache and despite 1) assurances from a local man tending his grand kids that his geo-son found it a year ago and 2) the obvious trampling in reeds besides the walkway and 3) spending 30 minutes getting wet and muddy looking in what would appear to be the obvious sub-walkway location this cache beat me today. GZ location was jumping around a bit on the phone so maybe was off. Better luck next time if there is one.

Day two of our three day scout hike on French Island brought us up to The Pinnacles for lunch. We'd camped at the Fairhaven camp-site the previous night and had an eventful morning, going down the wrong track a couple of times and spotting two koalas before eventually finding our way to the Pinnacles. A quick find and log book was in hand. From the Pinnacles we headed to the Bayview Chickory Farm where we camped overnight and enjoyed the hospitality of locals Lois and Keith Aire's. Thursday we hiked back to the ferry and all too soon we were home. Despite being advised the island was one of the most snake infested areas of the state, no snakes availed themselves of our company during our hike. We were almost disappointed. Head to French Island - its a beautiful and remote part of Victoria.

Last year I wrote a note about this cache (see 19/1/2018 below) and vowed to come back here on my third annual family holiday at the nearby Eildon Riverside Holiday Park (aka Bluegums) in Jan 2019.
So here I finally am on a total fire ban day with a forecast top of 42 but got out in the morning before the heat really took hold. Brought Ceba the wonder dog for company (as it's state forest on this side of Eildon-Jamison Rd) as the usual geokids were too buggered from the heat of the previous day. Temperature was about 32C at this point but was a fairly nice walk due to the good forest canopy providing dappled shade the whole way. Watch out for the march flies (which I first met on my "Avro" walk not far back down the road last year), and be prepared for footwear and socks to be covered in bindis - the big ones.
After an approx. 1.3km walk we came to the clearing and within a minute or so the well preserved cache was in hand in good condition. Last found in June 2018 by team Red Killa who I've seen on several other cache logs in the Eildon area.
So finally I can say I've found this cache. Next one on my wish list for another day (geodog is pooped for today) is at the summit of nearby Mt Torbreck. TFTC Clever Monkey. Twiggy&Co(and dog).

Out for a quick spin after dinner to find a few caches - first time with the wife and dog along. Soon had cache in hand - took picture of the damn with geodaughters head in frame. TFTC. Twiggy&Co.

Out for a quick spin after dinner to find a few caches - first time with the wife and dog along. Per previous comments 1) GZ coords had us a few mtrs askew but 2) the tall husband short wife comment brought us the bounty. TFTC. Twiggy&Co.
Out for a quick spin after dinner to find a few caches - first time with the wife and dog along. Took a little while to find even with the assistance of prior comments but they were spot on - take the long way around. And although obvious, beware trying to walk along the reed covered wall in thongs - it's been less than a month since my last blood donation but I donated skin and blood in my fervent haste tonight. According to geodaughter1, the surprised look on my face was only upstaged by the look on my wife's face as she hopelessly tried to catch me. TFTC. Twiggy&Co.

In Eildon on our annual holiday for the third year running and finally got out with the geokids for some caching. Did one on Skyline Rd 2 yrs ago so out to find a few more up this way. Took the geocruiser up this short little track and soon had cache in hand. TFTC.
Despite earlier dnf comments thought I'd give it a go - unfortunately to no avail. Recent chainsaw cuts in fallen branches suggest muggles may have been in the immediate vicinity of GZ collecting firewood. If if wasn't for the rapidly escalating arguments between the geokids who stayed in the car I may have persevered a while longer.

Been camping in this area for three years at Easter and Cup Day and found a number of other caches around but never knew of this one even though we've been up to this lookout countless times. So we're out doing a spot of 4x4ing with friends late in the afternoon when we found this one in an easy spot. A fabulous view as always. TFTC.

Had a look for this one on my way into the office this morning. This is such a busy laneway with many morning commuters using it as a shortcut. I've often used in the afternoon on the way home but never before in the morning - and I never shall again as the smell of urine pervaded the air. Gave up after a fruitless half hour. Might come back for another go sometime.
