Logs for Uncle Beebs

Beautiful walk with my mini-assistants and nice history associated with the wrecks just offshore. The close proximity of these caches is perfect for those of smaller stature and shorter attention spans!

This is my first Earthcache so I spent over an hour hanging around to ensure I got everything right as well as enjoying the lovely view. Witnessing the spectacle of the tourist hordes jostling for position around the chair was almost as amusing as the cache itself.

Went on a last minute hunt with my young assistants. Although it was a soggy day finding the cache was worth the wet shoes and pants. No lorikeets in sight but heard plenty of screeching from the surrounding trees.

This was a very interesting location despite the rainy weather. I was surprised to see the walking/running/cycling path, must return in the future and check it out.

We spent a good 30 min digging around (with a little bit of caution after seeing the snake picture!) with some fellow cachers without any luck. Unfortunately, a downpour drove us back to the car empty-handed.

After a long break from Geocaching I was spurred into action by my trusty assistants (and the owner of a geocoin who was unhappy that I had hoarded their coin for so long). Nice cache in a great park, we will be back!

The family and I have enjoyed the view many times but this is the first chance we had to get this cache. Unfortunately, it was guarded by an elite squad of commando mozzies who proceeded to attack as soon as we drew close to the location. The kids ran off after picking through the swag and left me to fend for myself and try to find an open space in the log (needs an update or fresh pages!).

Found this one before enjoying some pizza on Racecourse Rd. The log book is definitely in need of replacement!

This was a fun cache to find with the kids. Plenty of muggles enjoying a Sunday afternoon bbq but the girls were in stealth mode for the find.
We left a NY Mets patch that I found in Guangzhou, China

I seem to be chasing BuzzBumble around on caches around our hotel but without their luck. It was too dark to find this one, I'll have to return next time in the light.
I gave this one a pretty thorough look but couldn't come up with the goods. Maybe next time.
This cache was a nice walk from the airport hotel after breakfast. I agree that there should be more geocoin banks in the world and ammo boxes are simply the best container to store these things.

After a hard week crossing the Simpson Desert I was happy to get to "Big Red" and nab this cache.

Picked up this cache on my way through the Simpson Desert. Interesting place although the water was way too hot for a dip when we stopped over at midday.

Found this cache just before admiring the sunset over Alice. I also took the opportunity to introduce my fellow travel companions to geocaching since I would be bothering them to stop several times along our drive to Bridsville over the coming week.

Enjoyed finding this one the day before departing on our drive across the Simpson Desert. The staff did not seem to mind a stranger on the bench as they proceeded to close up for the day.

This cache is near muggle central but provides a welcome break after a jog around the Botanical Garden. A little strategic shoe-lace tying provided the necessary cover to grab the cache. TFTC!

Found this one during my morning jog. I'm amazed that such a large cache in a relatively open location has not been muggled. Next time I'll bring the kids to swap some swag and play in the nearby playground.

Great little cache location and a lovely walk with the kids after visiting my sister-in-law's place. There was a frenzy of trading loot from the cache by the gang of treasure hunters but we eventually settled on the appropriate swag for each before building sand castles at the beach.

Happy Bday Dad!
I brought my two daughters along for the walk from our place just up the way on McBurney St. While enjoying the walk we spotted a beautiful snake sunning itself, birds and lizards including the amphibious one that makes its home in the stream along the trail.
In: keychain, expandable frog and liberty geocoin that keeps "teleporting" back to France.

Celebrated the US Day of Independance with a return and sucessful find at the Big Field. A slew of muggles around but the oppressive heat had them all looking at their shoes dreaming of A/C elsewhere. After a long while I have also dropped off the Magellan Squad shield coin ("Taking down muggles one at a time!") in a very appropriate place.

I thought that a rainy evening might be a good time for this cache but there were still some persistent muggles about. The location seems easy enough so I'll return at a better time.

My office is about 1 km from here so it was convenient to check it out after work. Excellent location, I'm very glad that they established this memorial prior to tearing down the old prison. IN: Kansas Sunshine Geocoin, OUT: Aussie keychain. TFTC!
