Logs for goomacache

03-Nov-24
I finally got around to drop off Spikey. Already when I picked him up I knew where I would drop him. This was probably our very first cache we found as we live close by. I will keep watching your travels.

30-Aug-24
It was getting dark last night so I hurried around the cemetery and took pictures of the required graves. At camp, which was a very interesting location, I figured out GZ. And I had the same reaction as someone else down the log. I should have done this before going on the lookout. TFTC

This is so frustrating. I can see it but I'm short. There are people in the yard next door. So my step ladder would be too suspicious. Maybe I have to come back on a weekend

Once I finally got it open I realised I had left my pen in the car. I managed to put the date and name on the log with the end of one of the burned sticks around. I thought that was quite fitting for such an ancient place. TFTC

Thanks to the hint it was quicker than I thought it would be when I saw what I'm dealing with. TFTC

This is so clever, never seen that before. However coordinates point to the sign. It's other side. TFTC

Quick find. TFTC

That wasn't as bad as I thought. Being height challenged I walked along to where the gap at the bottom is more and went under. TFTC

I had more problems opening the compartment than finding the box. Shows that I was never into sophisticated lunch boxes. TFTC

Why didn't I read the hint. TFTC

I have to start reading hints again. This took way too long because coordinates are a bit off. TFTC

I only got the hint in one of the logs when I saw it. Hint is still O. TFTC

Easy find after stalking through the grass. TFTC

That took a bit with my phone taking me in zig zag. But got there eventually. On the way back I found donkey orchids. TFTC

Could just about get it. Had to be so careful not to drop it when replacing. TFTC

This would have been much quicker with right coordinates. Don't CO check the satellite picture. A hint in another log helped. TFTC

Quick find. TFTC

I jumped the ditch and now I have a wet shoe. TFTC

Clever hide. TFTC

Checked a few options on the way but was quickly spotted. TFTC

Quick find. TFTC

I don't know why I didn't read the hint. However at GZ there is only a hole in the pipe. The hide is next to a tree. They seem to be doing upgrades with gravel piles everywhere. So maybe that hide will go to the tip soon. TFTC

My phone wanted me to go on but my Geo feeling told me to check that perfect hide. TFTC

28-Aug-24
I looked in the trees. They have so many holes. Then I checked the comments again. Apparently the coordinates are pretty good. So I stood there and looked. And then I saw it. TFTC

After working out the coordinates I looked at the satellite picture. That was unexpected, normally it would be somewhere at the edges, but not this time. I did a lot of trying other places before I went for it. But first try a winner. The coordinates are pretty spot on, just need to trust them. TFTC

I almost walked away as the pointer is right on the pipeline and the cache is not. I'm always wondering why CO don't use satellite picture to confirm location in a situation like this. It's about 3m off. TFTC

This was such a tragedy. RIP. TFTC

A quick grab thanks to the hint. Even though it's Dad looking after the kids. The log is full. Squeezed a GC above the print. TFTC

Height is off. Even me being short I don't think anybody's chest is there. Ingredient noted. TFTC

Of course the last one I checked. Ingredient noted. TFTC

The container was out in the open, but it was obvious where it was meant to be, so put it back. Ingredient noted. TFTC

Quick find. Noted ingredient. TFTC

Found the cache, but as everyone before was saying the ingredients are missing. So I am hoping to guess them once I have all the other ones. TFTC

What a cutie. The log is kind of full, but there are pages with empty lines. I went on page 3. TFTC

I parked down the hill and walked the last 100 m. The lid is now pretty much non existent. The log had dried off though and was easy to sign. I tried to make a roof with some flat rocks, hopefully it survives a bit longer. TFTC

What a lovely memorial for a very young man. TFTC

Quick find once I had the right tree. TFTC

I don't know why that took me so long. TFTC

Found it in the bush. Not a screw top container anymore. If anyone is wondering if they could access this without driving through the cemetery. There is a gap in the fence very close to GZ and you could easily drive on the track around. TFTC

Quick find. If the official black stump is the one that was used for surveying Queensland that is in Blackall, QLD. I was there 1/3 into my tour on 29.06. I'm almost back home now. TFTC

This cache is not accessible as the access road is closed for the public. There's a new memorial close to the highway

I didn't take the phone. I thought what can be so hard. A stump just before the second cross path and I had approximate direction. Little did I know just how many stumps there are. After checking probably twenty I saw the one with the rock on top from about 10 m . That must be it. That mega bison is cool. First I've seen. TFTC

How do you find THAT pile of rocks in all the rocks. And I didn't even take the phone because in trees it's useless for accuracy. TFTC

Checked a lot of trap doors before I got the right one. TFTC

Quick find. TFTC
