Logs for i, dax
02-Oct-21
Thought I should make an appearance, at this my 4th Mega, since it was just up the road. Spent 2 days out n about with Shonkie, Unie & Crossie. Was lovely catching up with some of the older cachers I have known over the last 17 years, tho sad that others couldn't get here due to border restrictions.
Only spent a brief amount of time around GZ tho it looked to be well organised and run (I shoulda bought one of the beanies). Well done

Joined Shonkie, Unie & Crossie for part of their Millicent Mega 2021. Good thing I did as the boys needed to be shown how it was done. Cute hide, thanks for the cache

A bit late logging (18/05) but it was great coming back to my old home, 15 years on (pre-geocaching). Enjoyed the event and staying around for a few extra days to catch up with old friends. Much thanks to the Organising Committee

A bit late logging (18/7), but I was definitely there. Was good to see so many new teams there.
Thanks to all those who helped organise another successful event

A bit late logging (18/7), but I definitely removed rubbish that crossed my path. The shonky vehichle became our mobile bin for three days.

A bit late logging (18/7), but I definitely ate dinner there. I had to, I was hungry. Great camaraderie. Was good that everyone else got to eat too
02-May-16
I, I, I, i, dax will be there for my once a year cache. Will team up with Shonky Logic and the rest of the Shonky clan (possibly minus the smurf). One unpowered site will do me finely, thanks
I will attend (my order can be added to Shonky Logics)
Adult 4: Pumpkin soup, Roast Beef, Apple Pudding

A bit late logging (18/7/16), but did my part in removing my share of refuse
Catching up on logging past Events (18/7/16), but was since it was just up the road, there was no way I was going to miss this one. Was also part of the Organising Committee.
Well organised by the McKees (and other helpers). I enjoyed it so much I went again the following year.

Found on my way home (south) after the Magical Mundulla JLWE. Took a little while to find it, but eventually came up with the goods. Logged a tad late - 18/7/16. Thanks Biggo

Catching up on some old logs (18/7/16), but I feasted with the best of them that night

I will attend ...after all, it's just up the road.
An unpowered site to put up my tent please.

Found this as a quick drive by on my way home from the Cleve JLWE (logged 18/7/16 - yes, two years late!)
Found this one on the way home from the Cleve JLWE and subsequent tour of Eyre Pen. I thoroughly enjoyed the walk thro the gorge to GZ. The further I walked, the more water I found flowing after recent heavy rain. An absolute delight in an arid environment. I enjoyed the gorge so much that I walked all the way to the far fence (even tho I was running short of time).
Would give you a Favourite point, Canyonero, but am unable as I am not a GC Member. Thanks so much (logged 18/7/16 - yes, two years late!)

Found this one as a drive by on my way home from the Cleve JLWE and subsequent Eyre Pen. holiday (logged 18/7/16 - yes, two years late!)
There was certainly something fishy about this spot. I really enjoyed the unexpected monument. Found the cache on the way home from the Cleve JLWE and subsequent tour of Eyre Pen. Yes, I realise that was over two years ago. My how time flies - logged 18/7/16)

Found it during a lovely drive of the southern EP and introducing friends to the joy of Geocaching; the boys were getting the hang of it by this time. It was a superb location (logged 18/7/16 - yes, two years late!)
Found during a lovely drive of the southern EP and introducing friends to the joy of Geocaching. We beared left and came across a superb location. Logged 18/7/16 - yes, two years late! (pity it appears to be inactive)

Nice drive by between Venus Bay and Elliston, post Cleve LWE event. Sadly the bakery wasn't open today (and may not be for a while)
Thanks Liz and Bruce. Missed seeing you at Cleve

In fair weather, this would be a lovely spot to just sit and ponder life. But for me, it was race back to the car to sign the log out of the rain and incessant wind, then a mad dash back to replace it. TFTC
Made it to GZ before reading the full description. With strong gusty wind, and a bit of rain thrown into the mix, I figured discretion was the better part of valor and opted not to retrieve the cache. But thanks for bringing me to a top spot

Found on my way to Pt Labatt to see Alex's cousins. The old cache had water in it and the contents sodden, so I put it back as a cover for the new one.
I enjoyed the view of Baird Bay from here. The serenity stands in marked contrast to the rugged grandeur of Pt Labatt. TFTC

Took a while to find this one. In the process, I found a corroded 20c piece lying in the dirt, a cigarette butt (yuk) and a legless lizard (yay)
Afterwards, followed the path thro the gate to find the monument, but was soon turned back by water. That night, I read more about James Baird in the Calca book - a fascinating, tho tragic, story.
Thanks for opening a little more of this country up to me

Looked around GZ for a bit, but couldn't find anything where a magnet might prove useful. Time was agin me, so I quickly moved on
Found during my West Coast Odyssey (post Cleve LWE). Neat little hide. After a bit of searching, it turned out to be in the most obvious place. TFTC

The Astra got within 350m of GZ, but it was a walk from there. Wouldn't have attempted this track if it weren't for the cache. So much white, it's great! TFTC

'Twas another great June Long Weekend Event. As always, the event was easy going and relaxed. It was great catching up with old friends and meeting a few new ones...
Thanks to McKee and all the organisers for bringing it all together. From what I saw, it went off without a hitch.
I also enjoyed the location (even tho it was over a 1000km from home). The event was also a great start to a week exploring the Eyre Peninsula

Found with shonkylogic during the Cleve JLWE while his wife and daughter went fishing. Go figure ! (logged 18/7/16 - yes, two years late!)
Found with shonkylogic on day 2 of the JLWE. He had been here the previous day, so had a fair idea where it was. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time to sign the log . Cute squirrel! Thanks Redmond
Found it during the "find" day of the JLWE. I love little heritage spots like this - pity there are not more signs of the old school. TFTC
With shonkylogic, we flew by and went past as we continued to find caches on day 2 of the JLWE
Stopped to enjoy the views as part of day 2 of the JLWE, and find a real cache while we were here. Thanks Carinya
Found during a short detour during the JLWE. I had gone fishing in this creek just after finishing uni, some 30 years ago, so this cache brought back some great memories. Thanks DrGeni
Found with shonkylogic during a short detour from the Cleve JLWE. Catching up on old logs. I can't believe two years have now passed (logged 18/7/16)
Stopped to pick up an event cache during the JLWE and was pleasantly surprised to find a real cache as well
Thanks McKee
Thanks McKee
Found this one on the Sunday night after the JLWE Dinner. I particularly enjoyed following the eyes. There was a pair right by my tent for the weekend, so I had a direct, tho creepy, connection to the ghost, metaphorically speaking, of course [xx(]. Thanks McKee
Found as part of the JLWE with shonkylogic. Missed out on getting a FTF by a matter of minutes , due to our desire to get sherbies from a nearby temporary cache . Thanks Firesafe
Found during the JLWE
I enjoyed the walk in amongst the sheoaks, and the views of the Reservoir. The whole weir was an interesting place to visit and one of the highlights of the weekend. Thanks Tweety2

Found this one with shonkylogic as we stopped to hide our first cache for the JLWE. Sadly our temp cache was muggled ... by the local council who decided to empty one of their rubbish bins after 6 months !
