Got to within 50ft but the terrain got too dangerous. I think there's been a landslide recently and the path has gone.

A quick easy find after a day visiting Abel Tasman.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
Upon approaching the cache site my 11 year old pulled out a black bin liner pronouncing 'I've found it'. It was within a meter of the actual cache and looked legit as it contained a black sealed tin with the word 'radioactive' on the outside. Bizarrely he was scared to open it so I did and emptied the contents onto the beach. Inside were a selection of syringes, a double backed spoon and the usual addicts parafanalia. I carefully returned the contents and resealed them inside the can, inside the bag. Having nowhere to dispose of this I left them on the rocks below GZ so they would not again be confused with the actual cache.
Please advise kids not to open this! Perhaps the cache owner will know if there is somewhere safe to dispose of this trash? Sadly, I'm a tourist in NZ and had no idea.

Found this when we visited the crater lake completely by accident! We weren't even caching today! The cache was out in the open on a possum trail to the left of the viewing platform. We replaced into the bush close by as it looked like this was where it should go.
The log book is sodden and cannot take ink. We took a photo of inside of lid as proof of find. It does need maintenance I'm afraid. There were no trackables inside.
Went on down to kerosene creek for a swim after-Wowsers!

Sorry to say we didn't find this today. We are staying in Kuranui cottage directly opposite the site so if the owner wants to email specifically where it's hidde I can go and check if it's still there or gone walkabout again. Here for next 2 days.
