29-Mar-14
Found this on the 1st day of a 2 day scout hike with our group. Nice hidey hole - The gun shots were a little off-putting though Smile Thought I'd brought more swag with me but couldn't find it, so TNLN and just signed the log.

Found this on the 1st day of a 2 day scout hike with our group. A little bush bash and was soon able to sign the log. Lovely spot!

Log to follow.

25-Mar-14
A fairly easy find in a lovely spot. We would never have known this area was there. Tried to look inconspicuous for the muggle watching from his back shed!

A great cache with a clever camouflage. Thanks TeamSenz! And what a cool tree nearby - very gnarly Smile I had to climb it, just because it was there!

Disabling until I check on cache.

06-Jan-14
A nice overcast day today - perfect for a walk to the beach and a spot of geocaching. Took Chukygrandma along for her first caching adventure Smile We may even get her hooked!

There's a fairly obvious geotrail to the cache if you're looking for it but nicely hidden.

Staying in the caravan park so went for a recon and spotted it earlier in the day. Decided to do a spot of night caching to sign the log as the area was muggle central. Being vertically challenged, Chukymum did her acrobatics in the dark to get the cache in hand.

A nice quick find after a lunch out in West Kempsey with family.

Loved the mosaic in the memorial - very nicely done.

Left Scotland Geocoin to send on its way.

Log sheets are fairly full - only a few spots left. Will need to be replaced soon.

Like everyone else, we were looking in all the wrong places at first. The accuracy on the GPS was 28m so we couldn't reallt get much help from that. We thought it might have been a sprinkler cache so we opened a few sprinklers. We then went across the road. We saw an out of place looking sprinkler, so of course, we tried opening the sprinkler, at first it looked suspiciously like a cache. It came out and we were hopeful. But water just shot out at Chukymum. So then we tried a different GPS. And it was accurate. It took us right next to the cache. Great idea!

Congrats to Chippyroo on FTF! (Such a surprise Smile

30-Oct-13
Found on the way to Scouts. It required long arms (Which we don't have) and thankfully was a nice quick find. Took novelty rubber, left Allan's cousin (The frog).

Great to put faces to cache names.

We were attending an event at the Equestrian Centre today so after it finished we wandered down to find this cache. A nice quick find, but I wish I'd read the advice of other cachers to take gloves! I braved it, stuck my hand in and retrieved the cache.

Loved the guardian!

Second time lucky! I (Chukymum) sat down and inconspicuously felt around the area behind me, trying to avoid Muggle stares. Within a short time, I felt a familiar shape and voila!

Glad to finally mark this one off - DNFs sit and mock me Sad

I (Chukymum) solved this puzzle a few weeks ago. It took ages to solve - there were too many options on the programme I used and I think I ended up confusing the issue Smile After confirmation from a fellow cacher that I was on the right track, I started from scratch and had the co-ords in no time. One of those der moments!

We were heading up to Cessnock today so finally had a chance to finish it off. Our GPS batteries decided to die as we got out of the car and after a frantic search for the spares, we admitted defeat and headed for a nearby supermarket to buy more! Back to the spot and after going around in circles for a while and checking for snakes every time we put our feet down, we soon spotted a likely looking hiding spot.

We took a couple of travel bugs to continue their journey.

Great cache - definitely deserves its rating!

This was a nice quick find once I rid myself of my preconceived idea of where it would be and believed the GPS Smile Gave a wry chuckle at the container.

2 piggies down, 1 to go before we can take down the Big Bad Wolf!

This was a clever hide! Chuck spotted where it would be based on the cache name as we were driving to GZ. We parked the car, he ran across and soon had the cache in hand. And a special thrill of signing a blank log (we could pretend we were FTF anyway lol!)

TFTC Cccritter - very clever!

A nice quick find - this time! This was our 3rd trip here looking for this one, after trip 2 we sought confirmation from the CO that we were looking in the right spot. Walked there for attempt 3, disturbed a lizard, avoided the yappy dog this time and in a reasonably short time had the cache in hand.

Seriously I could swear we have looked in that spot a dozen times before and it was NOT there! It obviously had its invisibility cloak on the other times!

TFTC TeamSenz and for your patience Smile

The hint certainly helped with this one! Searched for a while before we found it - I'm getting sick of spidery caches Smile Seem to have done quite a few lately!!

I don't know how many times we've been to the railway sheds and never noticed the community gardens! What a lovely spot. Nice quick find.

Left a geocoin to continue it's trip around Australia.

Great cache! Did you go for the "Yankin' ya chain" feel? (Making you walk right past it, then you turn and feel like an idiot) Well, I guess you can tell us in the school holidays?
I'm glad we walked along the pipeline with you guys right after your first find. If we hadn't, we would have hesitated to walk down to the pipeline.
Chukymum found it.

Before reading, please play depressing music.
Well... This is awkward.... We found it this afternoon... Only then to realise that it was archived (It wasn't archived then)
Chuk found it, Chukymum looked there but didn't notice the extra bark covering it.
We took nothing. Left stickers.
Well... I guess there's FTF... I guess we're LTF...

We were lucky enough to grab the parking spot right next to this one, and muggle activity wasn't too high. A quick search and the cache was in hand. Then off to burn some money in the nearby stores Smile

I knew from previous visits to this area that a lot of traffic goes past here, but never appreciated quite how much until we were trying to get a Muggle-free break to get to GZ!

Nice cache! A quick find but getting it out proved trickier than finding it. Eventually extracted it and signed the log.

We had a quick look for this a few weeks ago but were in a hurry going somewhere. And Chukymum had made a mistake with her calculations so we were searching in the wrong place, in the midst of the area used as a rubbish dump...

So with a bit more time up our sleeve and armed with the CORRECT co-ordinates this time, it was off for another search. This time it was an easy find.

Another great Darth container Smile

Found this one while ChukyDad was in the hotel having an Abbey Ale. We never seem to have much luck with bison tube caches but were successful this time!

Logging with CO's permission.

We dodged showers to go for a lovely walk through the Pinnacles. Fascinating place!

Didn't take too long to find. One lip of the key find box snapped off as I opened it do had to make some emergency repairs with tape. Box will need replacing ASAP. Sorry we didn't have anything with us to do the job.

Cache is wet inside - several mms of water in the bottom. Contents are damp and going mouldy.

Logging with the CO's permission - thanks!

Chukymum visited here when she was a kid - the area has certainly changed a lot since then! Went for a quick walk up on top but rain was threatening so didn't go too far. Stayed overnight at the caravan park.

Thanks for taking us to this spot - we wouldn't have stopped here normally. We too chose the wrong side of the fence to start with, but it wasn't too hard to find once we aligned ourselves correctly!

Cache was wet inside - signed log but it was damp and mouldy. TNLN.

Loved this one - giving it a favourite point. We were watched curiously by the Visitor Centre lady so we had to explain all about geocaching and what we were doing! She'd never seen anyone do it before Smile

A special cache on Chuk's special day.
