Logs for Eriallo

28-Nov-24
Did need a hint from the CO for this one who I was lucky to meet earlier this week. This poor cache has been lonely for a while but is still in very good condition. Had to clear out some leafy layers but it was exactly where it was meant to be. Thank you Boxhill for this brain tickler.

Happy coincidence. This will be the exact final day of 100 days in a row of caching. I'll be very relieved.

My first cache in the south island! Only a flying day visit for business from Wellington. Planned this one ahead of time and made sure to do a quick photo on the way past. Can't even bring them into the lounge with me as the quick domestic lounge doesn't allow guests. Ah well!

Didn't need the assistance with this puzzle like many other loggers did, also managed to write it down while looking at the puzzle, so I was quite chuffed with myself. Used to be able to blink and see it straight away, I'm not quite that good anymore. I have my own stereogram puzzle up on Kaukau. An easy one to extend my daily caching streak, only 9 days to go now! This one is nice and close to work. Logged today on lunch break with HLJN, who I introduced to geocaching recently.

Dang it. I'll be out on Mana Island with the other event, otherwise I'd be out there with you as I'm almost cleared to start shooting again (baby steps) after a steroid injection a week before.

Another quintessential Wellington cache I'm only just getting around to. Beautiful day to appreciate the view. Extended our visit and did a chunk of the Zelandia fence line as well. Found it okay. The cacher trail leads straight to it. All in great condition. Thanks for this.

Had a lovely evening with the two of you. Thanks again for the lovely meal, I hope the south island treats you well and you finally get an end to your rainy streak. Also thanks for taking my TB, I'm excited to see it's travels. All the best.

Wasn't quite where I expected it to be. But got there in the end. Only got caught looking at the thing of interest near by.

Found. But much like others experiences, not in the place I expected. All in good order. I'll leave the log as mamahoof left it for now as it's sufficient. Heading up to the skyline now to pick up some puzzles and the part of the trail series I'm missing. Lovely forest here.

My turn around point for the day. Kinda had a feel for what id be looking for as I saw what GZ was. Quick scan and had my hands on it. Thanks again for another piece for this. Only a little bit to go before I can get the related puzzles.

Headed up to nap a few more in this area. Went a bit higher than the cache. Sat down to open my phone. Looked to my left and there it was lucky me.

[Eriallo](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=Eriallo) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC5QRW6/51222 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.OK: found 2 caches (needed: 1) not found in 500 days # visited previous days gccode cache_name type country region 1. 2024-09-23 2022-11-20 673 GC35XT5 Flora Exotica (Wellington) Unknown Cache New Zealand North Island 2. 2024-11-22 2023-07-01 510 GC31N5E A28G Makara (Wellington) Traditional Cache New Zealand North IslandOnly got the second of these yesterday! Cache in great condition. A new point on my D/T graph so I'm very happy.

Nabbed this on the way back down the hill from the skyline via the 500 day challenge. Now off to an event in town. Thanks.

Bit of a mission for my chosen cache of the day. Lived practically across the road a couple of months ago so it's taken me far too long to get up and nab this one. Track is definitely grown over and the item mentioned in the hint is no longer solitary. Definitely coming away with more scrapes than is comfortable but life would be boring otherwise. Glad to break this one's lonely streak.Cache itself is in good enough condition. Logbook is sodden but writable... Just.

Another lovely evening out (except the heckin parking). Managed to speak to some individuals I've seen across the table at bigger events but hadn't had conversations with until now, and squeezed them gently for puzzle hints. Enjoy your limb freedom Infoferret, I hope your wrist is now cleaner than ever since it's jail time started.

I tell you what. This is exactly what I needed for my cache of the day today. After completing two full days of training at work working 3 hours overtime and completing a 27 page handwritten assignment. I was desperately in need of a laugh, and boy did it did just that.Got the word on the third attempt last night and knew this was the one I'd aim for today to keep the streak going. The previous logs weren't kidding about the shine. It lead me right to it. Somehow, I've managed to not bring any of the infection home (at least as far as I'm aware, so far). Thanks for the cache and the laugh TDronsfield.

Logging this one a day late aahhh, almost cried when I saw my streak didn't extend. Turns out I just forgot to log it when I got home. Thanks to the other logs I knew it wasn't going to be in the first place I looked but it was in the second. In a really ideal geocache home really. A few sideways looks from cars driving past but otherwise uneventful. Was on my way again within minutes. Thank you.

Found it. At last, took a good 15 minutes. Of course I checked this one last, and not without a some blood drawn to show for it. Lovely view on a day like this regardless. Location found was a little odd so replaced under a SPOR (common hiding place for caches, ask me if you need to). Thanks.

Cache needs a bit of TLC. I liked these ones on the 'old path'. I could hear people walking past as I was doing my caching business and didn't have to spend so much energy being covert.

This is when I first realised that the paths that feature on the geocaching map do not reflect the current layout of the paths. So thanks Yeti for the most helpful clue in locating this one, the hint isn't quite as accurate as it may have been at the time of placing. regardless I left my purple smudge and carried on my way.

This was the first cache of the day on my mission to complete the western loop today. The cache was tucked away in a nice home and all in good condition. Disturbed a lovely long haired cat that must live at one of the neighbouring properties. Wasnt friendly enough to let me have a pat SadThanks for this.

I found thanks to the helpful hints left behind by previous finders. Otherwise, I may not have been so lucky. Also, the objects in the area are a good place to sit while signing. Thankfully the muggles who were walking and biking past didn't even look in my direction so I was able to rehide the container and rejoin the path discretely.

Popped my head around the right tree once I found it and had the voila moment. unfortunately, the cache is very soggy and my pen wasn't able to leave the most legible writing. A couple of muggles with dogs as I attempted to put the container back so I got an extended moment of standing looking at the 'view' to not arouse suspicion. Thanks for yet another one.

I entered this side of the path a little earlier than I should have, but I spotted the container from a couple of meters away. I signed and carried on up the hill. Thanks.

Not sure what previous logger means by broken the mechanism as everything seemed in order when I found it. (I have some pictures I can share with CO if they are interested). Regardless, I think the cache is in fine working order. Stinging nettle nearby. Thanks for another one tbird53

Loved this! First one ever of its kind I've done. Cache was stuck on something so had to use the slack to get under the container and fling it away but then it came down fine. First log on new paper. Giving this one a FP because it made my day. Last one for me today. The rest on this loop i'd gotten at an earlier date. Thanks again tbird I loved each and every one of these caches and appreciate the work that has gone into it.

Bowled a nonsensical casher trail down from the road. Touched the object in question and found in good condition despite the seal giving up. I can see why those who approached from the bottom track had issues. Rejoined track to a weird look from a running muggle.

I found it with a laugh after reading the previous logs. I was about to walk away and log a DNF when something caught my eye. I'm sorry Yeti. Decided this was a good enough spot for lunch and got to meet a lady on a horse. They got a fright as they came around the corner (oops). Cache cover in general is breaking down so not sure how much longer it will be suitable. Time will tell.

Got close to GZ then took advantage of the available seating. Looked down to my left and there it was. This one made me glad that I usually cache solo as my performance getting back to the track took every ounce of upper body strength I had to not fall on my butt. Thankfully crisis was averted.

I flip flopped on whether to try for this one while doing the other part of the western loop, but after reading the logs I chose yes. Took a good bit of bush bashing to get to and then also to rejoin the track in another place. When my GPS said I was 30m out is when I spotted it. The weight in the cache is growing its own interesting biome but otherwise all is in good enough order. Please be careful future finders as there is stinging nettle nearby. Unfortunately, there is a lot of rubbish in this area.

First to sign on the replacement log! got a few of those today. Funny how I knew what I was looking for but the fact that this one was smaller and differently coloured to what I was expecting made it more difficult to spot. No 'zip tie' to speak of here so had to use a twig. But otherwise no issues. Thank you

Found it. Third time lucky for me, bad timing with the container going missing. I really hope this one sticks around this time. Good spot for it, not many people around in this part of the park. Thank you.

15-Nov-24
Quickly found this one between finishing work and having a social night out and about. Gotta keep the streak up. All in good order here. Thanks boxhill for another cache for my tally.

14-Nov-24
I was a little worried as I approached GZ and saw an empty sistema container complete with ziplock baggie about 15 away from this cache and my heart dropped thinking I'd be looking a DNF. BUT! The cache was there and I signed away. So double win for me today. Another number for my streak AND a free container to be used for a future placement. Thanks for bringing me here tmann421.

Took the excuse of a lovely Wellington waterfront walk (much like everyone else in the city it seems) with this cache as the turn around point. Made the mistake of trying to get the cache with my broken wrist then quickly remembered that these angles are not attainable at the moment. Regardless. The cache was signed and returned without much issue. Thanks.

Second time finding this one. Came yesterday but when I opened the log book I realized I left all my pens in the car and didn't log because I'm a stickler for the rules and today I came back with my pens and signed away. But! I did take the last spot in the log book. So it will need replacing.

Have enjoyed a trip and Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa this weekend from Wellington. This is the last stop before heading back home. Had never been here before, I immediately fell in love with the landscape. Thanks to the less than ideal weather almost no one was around today. Really found the shell stone fascinating. Information board at GZ is very difficult to read. I hope they replace it soon.

Well, no one can question my commitment to the streak goal of 100 days after the day I've had. Had a specialist appt for my broken wrist in the city so I took the train, my car must have been mad because I came home to a flat tyre. Changed that, and came on my way. Thanks for bringing me to this. Of course I never would have known these paths were here without them. I'll be back for the other two on another day.

Enjoyed the scramble up to GZ. Should have worn more supportive shoes but took my time and got there without issue. Loved taking in the complexities of the landscape. Had never been here before. Thank you for bringing me here. Cache is in good order. Dry, but the plastic baggie is busted.

In the area for the first time, up from Wellington. Forgot how warm it gets up here, I was dressed for a winter walk, not a hawkes bay one. Ah well.Found without much problem, managed to squeak my name on there, needs a new log page but unfortunately didn't have my kit on me. Last cache for me today in the area. Thank you.

Up on a trip from Wellington for the weekend. Put in the hard one for this one after walking the blue track to the summit. Very thankful for the breeze up here after that. Thank you.

Nice wee stop to bolster the numbers on my way to walk Te Mata peak. Found myself looking for something more complicated. But then simplified my search and there it was. Keep it simple stupid should be my caching motto.

Up on a weekend trip from Wellington. Found this after our round trip on the blue track today. Was immediately fossicking in the wrong area but ventured a little bit lower and found the container. Also exercised a bit of CITO and found a bowl that will stay in the car for the dog. Lovely spot.

Up in the area for a weekend trip from Wellington. Nice cache in a neat spot, came here after doing a loop around Te Mata peak. Went down to the waterfall afterwards and saw a number of people take the plunge via the rope. Maybe next time . Thanks.

Found today up on a weekend visit from Wellington, and the first cache for me in this area. Overshot GZ at first then saw it clearly from above. Walked up to the peak from here. Discovered the TB but wasn't brave enough to take it. Thanks.

Lovely break from the sun here, had a stop to have some water and signed the cache. Up on a visit this weekend from Wellington. Such a lovely area. Thanks.

In the area for the weekend from Wellington. Nice to get some shade after doing the blue loop all the way around. There were a few piles of suspicious items but I soon found it. Nice job. Thanks.

Up on a visit from Wellington. Glad we walked down from the summit and not the other way. Seems I made the right choice by doing the circuit clockwise. The cache definitely didn't need the hint as it has a lovely home. Lots of lovely tradable critters but didn't take any.

Definitely not what I thought I was looking for. Was a nice surprise to put my eyes on the right place and find the container. Lovely place to stop on my way to a weekend away in Wairarapa. Amazing to see so many names of my friends who have found this in years past. Thank you. Enjoyed this one (once I found it)

This is what I love about geocaching. Never would have known this was here without it. Here is proof that nature will prevail if given half a chance. A bit of finger scraping paid for this one but found in the end. Tin is a bit sad but log is nice and dry. The view I got in the photo is a bit deceptive as a couple of degrees away from the photo are dark rain clouds. Thanks for this.
