Logs for Hanaton
13-Jun-14
I only managed to find the cache at the second attempt, before our leaving Darwin and Australia. For the first time, the GPS was not so precise and I searched in the park, etc. This time we sat on the waterfront at the full moon. So romantic. TFTC
12-Jun-14
My last cache in the Kakadu National Park. We had to put it off for two days because of grass burning. Luckily not for good. A nice walk through the forest. The viewing platform improves the view. TFTC
11-Jun-14
The cache was the reason for our driving to the mine as close as we could. Quite impressive. TFTC
We found the GZ after a guided tour of Ubirr Rock before sunset. The site is magnificent. TFTC
09-Jun-14
The cache site became our favourite. We returned there at dusk and again at dawn for the sunrise - we slept at the car park. One of the most gorgeous places in Kakadu. TFTC
08-Jun-14
The day chosen for visiting Gunlom and searching the GZ was not ideal as it was the Sunday of a longer weekend and the place was packed with muggles. The trail was constantly blocked, but finally we found it. The spot is super, esp. the pools above the waterfall. TFTC
07-Jun-14
The cache was the reason why we stopped at Pine Creek. A lovely spot, esp. Lazy Lizard. It took some time to find GZ, but finally.... TFTC
A nice walk from the Thermal Pool. Water in Stevies Hole did not tempt to have a dip, but there were some fish. TFTC
Luckily we went through Mataranka twice. On the way to the hot springs I searched for the cache in vain, but then, overnight, after some hard thinking, I managed to find it. The problem was partially in the fact that I misspelled the hint - kork instead of work! I thought it was some local slang. Thanks for the cache at a lovely spot. I have bought the book and will read it back home.
06-Jun-14
We did canoeing in the Gorge and then I searched for the cache. it was hot so I appreciated it was not high up on the lookout. TFTC
04-Jun-14
I found the cache on the way to Katherine and further to Mataranka. It was in the opposite direction and the road was directionaly divided, which involved turning round and then back again. It took some time, but finally the ingenious hide gave in. TFTC
A great day in the Litchfield National Park. The Cascades were lovely, this GZ was the entrance to it. Well hidden. TFTC
The cache involved a lot of rock hopping, but also lovely dips and waterfalls. The ultimate surprise was the GZ itself. A great hopper. TFTC
The Tolmer Falls were by far the best spectacle in the Litchfield Natinal Park and maybe the whole Northern Territory. The GZ was a bit away from the track - spiders!, but I managed. TFTC
03-Jun-14
Found on a walk from Buley Holes to Florence Falls. The river offered great spots to have a dip in. The cache was in dry bush, I was a little scared of snakes, but managed. TFTC
The place was packed with muggles going down to the falls to swim, but the cache was out of their way. We were too hot and lazy to go down to the river, but had a swim under the falls the next morning when we camped in the 4Wd car park. TFTC.
What a surprise to find a miniature of the castle we know so well from our country, Czech Republic. Quite moving, together with the verses. A great monument of Czech exiles. TFTC
A great tour of the Litchfield National Park in a campervan marked by finding 7 GZ in one day! The mounds are a nature wonder. TFTC
A great day in the Litchfield National Park with 7 GZ! The Tree Tops took some time, but I found it. A lovely spot. TFTC
A great day in the Litchfield Ntional Park with 7 GZ! This one was the most daring - I was scared walking in the dry bush forest where I had seen a snake - and rewarding. TFTC
01-Jun-14
Luckily the cache was found and I can score another point in Sydney after 4 years. TFTC
A wet and chilly late afternoon, but there was the light festival later on and the bridge was great as ever. Not good visibility. TFTC.
31-May-14
Back on Bondi Beach after 4 years! A sunny, windy day. The cache was easily found (unlike two others). TFTC
It took me a long time, but the cache was finally discovered, though soaked completely. The logbook needs drying and the content replacing. The place is lovely and the hint clever. TFTC
30-May-14
My last day visiting our aunt in Urunga. A nice day with a lovely breeze, no waves. A quick find thanks to the hint. TFTC
The cache was only found during my second search with a helper who rightly deciphered the hint. Clever. TFTC
28-May-14
A quick find on the way from Thora to Urunga. A lovely spot where camping would be fun. Very precisely measured. TFTC
27-May-14
Found the second time - there were some muggles sitting close to the cache. Now everything went fine only the logbook is desperately full. TFTC
26-May-14
Despite the clear description the cache was not easy to find as some sleepers were missing and the X signs were not vsible. I nearly gave up but finally managed. An interesting spot. TFTC
A pleasant stop on the way to Nimbin and a counterpoint to the vibrant town. Quite well hidden. TFTC
A nice morning walk brought me to the cache. A really great uncommon view of Byron Bay. A short search and I succeeded. TFTC
25-May-14
The cache was easily managed during a Mt Waning climb. The only drawback were the masses of people climbing it - there was literally a queue on the chain. Otherwise the climb was cool and the views spectacular. The final was on our way back. TFTC
21-May-14
20-May-14
A quick find the second time / the museum was open and the caretaker seemed inquisitive. TFTC
11-Feb-12
Finally found when I returned after an unsuccessful search on 9 January. This time I was luckier, but did not find another 3 caches in Auckland instead.Anyway it is a great city. Bye from Prague!
10-Feb-12
We saw crickets getting out of their "shells". So many! TFTC
09-Feb-12
What a pity the city still shows so much earthquakce damage. The malls have been greatly put up. I love the city spirit. TFTC
08-Feb-12
I am logging a bit late but my memories of the glaciers are still vivid. Thanks for teh cache.
07-Feb-12
How convenient to stop the car so close to the cache. A great view of the Mt.Cook area. TFTC
A walk to Tasman Glacier was one of our last trips in NZ. The weather and the area is awesome, we must come back. The Alps are magnificent. TFTC.
