Logs for Nicko57
25-Nov-24
Renewed container and replaced in correct position, somehow the other container with missing lid had found its way back to an old hiding spot.
28-Oct-24
Glad you were able to finish the calendar Sharon and thanks for the event.
02-Oct-24
Nice sized event, we enjoyed the company and the meal was excellent too, thanks for organizing the event Sandy.

Back on this track to look for 2 more caches published since I was here last. Reading the logs I thought it might take some time but I found it after a very short search. TFTC
Bit worried the track might not suite a low clearance car but with one wheel in the centre of the track we didn't have any problems. Noticed the stock yards, not much to hear other than the bleating from lambs while we were at the cache. Decided to press on as it was not easy to try and turn around, got through ok but disturbed 5 kangaroos lazing in the sun in a paddock on the way.
12-Aug-24
Out this way caching and stopped here on way home. Cache wouldn't be all that far from where a previous one was located actually

Just happened to be passing today, wasn't expecting to find such a small cache, guess I didn't read all the details as usual.
14-May-24
Very serene here today and track is not too bad. Bit of a squeeze turning around though. Thanks for another cache in the area.
03-May-24
Didn't need to cut any corners today due to the road works being almost finished finally, only one short 40 km section near roadhouse. Very quiet out here today not a single kangaroo put in an appearance.
23-Apr-24
Finally arrived and enjoyed a good mug of coffee too, thanks for the event. Great weather this morning.

FTF Have noticed these wriggly tracks on Google earth but didn't know the story behind them. Took the short walk just in case I got bogged. TFTC
Took me a while to find this and that was after resorting to the phone for some hints from the CO. I did take note of the coordinates once I made the find as the tree cover seems to be hindering the gps. After several attempts to get the log sheet rolled small enough I resorted to using my log roller for the first time to get the log sheet to refit. As far as I know this ruin is the remains of a house once owned by a Brooksby family. What I did discover in my search is that there is no need to climb onto any of the walls and the stone is not very stable, quite likely to come away in your hand actually.
Nice spot, have driven past but never noticed the depression on other trips. Think there was a FTF prize so I have picked it up. TFTC

The cache name has me wondering if the hole in the ground is just a burrow or does it lead to a cave. Have been saving this cache also to help towards the March Equinox Souvenir.
I have been saving this cache for the March Equinox Souvenir, one more find and I will have the three needed. TFTC
19-Mar-24
After getting a hint on where to look from a fellow cacher I walked straight to the cache today. It did help immensely that the covering that was hiding the cache had fallen away and the cache was in plain sight. I see now why I failed last visit, it is completely hidden from view normally and also now unless the cover dislodges again.

Very quiet here today and good spot to hide the cache. Had a bit of trouble getting log to stay still but fixed it using the magnet and the car bonnet.
This log (the timber one) keeps on giving, this is the third cache placement here that I have been able to log a find on.
Have been keeping this cache for today, should get my leap year souvenir now and 2nd to find as a bonus.
Caching today to find 4 caches to get the leap year souvenir, this is number 2. Good location for your first hide Archie.
12-Feb-24
Good spot for a hide and had a fair idea what we were looking for but overlooked it at first. A bit surprising for FTF to be available but maybe other locals are leaving it to go towards the leap year souvenir, I know I have left some for that reason.
03-Feb-24
Worked out coordinates and headed off to make the find. Was hoping gz wouldn't be to hard to narrow down and coordinates were spot on. It was hard to believe but the first spot I looked was the tricky little hide. Thanks for putting this cache out for us to find.
18-Jan-24
Went looking for a tiger today and found a cache. It put up a bit of a fight but eventually I had it pinned to the ground and signed the log. Before heading out I loaded the car boot with extensions and used them all bar one. It was slightly easier replacing the cache than extracting it but not by much.
16-Jan-24
Wasn't quite where I first thought, glad I checked the gps to see how close/not close I was. Bit snaky looking but the only damage done today was to be attacked by a few grass seeds. Nice amount of swag and when putting log book back I swear a voice came from one of the swaps. Even some stamps I am guessing are to stay with cache. Favorite point for the effort and included swaps including the little wind tower. Dropped TB off.
02-Jan-24
First for 2024 and a FTF as well. Good coordinates, saw a 4wd leave as we approached and wondered if we were only going to get second but the log was blank.

Stopped on side of road and to my surprize the way in didn't look to hard so I went in but was very careful in checking where I was stepping when in the grassy area. It is evident this was once a vehicle track. Coordinates are very good which helped a lot as there are quite a few possible hiding spots. The O-ring does come off when the cache is opened so be aware of that.
After reading a previous finders log I looked around and spotted the easy way in and made the find, I should take more notice of the descriptions, the size of the container was quite unexpected. Nice place to cache too so I will give it its first fav point.
Not being very experienced with Wherigo I found a youtube video that helped immensely in getting the phone set up for the cache. Did all that was needed to get the final but the area was a bit busy with muggles when we got there. Came back after doing the Lake George caches and it was clear so took the opportunity to search and found the cache soon after.
19-Dec-23
Less than a week to Christmas now and they seem to come around quicker than ever. Cache found and log stamped as well as the letterbox stamp impression being added to my collection. Unfortunately I don't think it is a night time display anymore due to a wire having parted somehow.
Too many options regarding old ways for me to come to grips with this puzzle. After getting a push in the right direction I managed to find a code solving page that helped immensely even with it failing on some words. Fortunately it did manage to decode the coordinates and that was all I needed.Piloted the old Camry up to the cache and spent some time looking at the view with my binoculars and seeing as it was joint FTF I will claim silver. Evidence of recent track repairs on the route I departed so I think I followed the same way as the previous finders.
18-Dec-23
Bit slow logging this one, meant to do it years ago as I do pass by whenever my nearby geocache needs checking on.
Not a very good caching day but a raincoat helped. Cache was showing but other than that all is good, grabbed one of the TB's in it. Tried to give the cache some more cover but it was a bit lightweight so may get blown off when things dry out.
Quick park and grab, it even stopped raining just before I got here. Log has been damp some time in the past but was dry today.
17-Dec-23
Third to find, critters have uncovered container but other than that all is well.
In the area getting some more smileys on the map. Not much activity around here today other than a hare trying to hide from us.
Only consolation for this cache is that we are not alone in having a failure here.
At least I managed to work these coordinates out correctly and after a stroll we had the log in hand.
After driving past yesterday due to lack of checking of emails we will claim second to find today. Nice location that Rex would have enjoyed, would have been on the trail of whatever left the scratches/tooth marks on lid too I bet.
