3189CF ~ Visiting Australia again, this time with my partner Kim, so adding to the 116 caches I previously had found, but not a caching holiday so odd times getting to grab caches here or there, but no major caching until the end of our trip.
So last cache of the trip, and well I had been going on about this cache for awhile and I said to my sister it was a 2.10 trip, she thought that was 2 hours 10 minutes to the cache only and I said no, that's for the whole round trip, to which I got an 'oh'.
Then it was 'Ok, lets go get this, grab what you need and lets just go' So I grabbed Mortdecai McQuack Esq, and a TB I brought over from the UK and jumped in to the car. Road Trip Commenced!
It was about lunchtime when we arrived at the park, and my nephew was asleep in the car and so Kim said she'd stay and watch him as my sister and I headed to GZ, with a few funny looks from some people eating lunch on the picnic benches.
Arrived at GZ and it was getting hot, I was worried about creepy crawlies, and so grabbed a stick, and then my sister said, have you looked around the back, a cacher's trail!
Cache was found, and logbook signed. Brilliant! [^] Took a few photos and then headed back to the car and time to head back, because my niece needed picking up from school.
Thanks for this Old Geocache, a date I've been wanting for my Jasmer for the last few years, and now I have only 8 dates left to fill for the whole challenge. I'm surprised this doesn't get more FP's because of it's age and a nice location, good size container, so one from me.

In to the City today for last bit of shopping, before heading back in the next few days to the UK. So I DNF'ed this on my last trip, because I just couldn't find it and so this time, I had my lucky charm; Kim.
So went where I thought it would be and after 5 mins of looking, bingo! Found it. Signed the log and replaced as found, time for one more, another I DNF'ed last time before heading to Eureka Skydeck 88.

We found 1 cache earlier, another one I DNF'ed and now for the last one of the day. Kim sat down nearby while I looked and it took me a few minutes before realising that I had touched it but never went any further, so I used logic, and found it. Very Clever!
Signed and replaced as found, time to go up the Eureka Skydeck now.
TFTC and FP for the hide.

3186CF ~ Visiting Australia again, this time with my partner Kim, so adding to the 116 caches I previously had found, but not a caching holiday so odd times getting to grab caches here or there, but no major caching until the end of our trip.
Today, Healesville Sanctuary was on the books, especially as Loopygirl105 didn't have school due to some teacher's thing, so off to enjoy the animals, which we did.
On the way home, Loopy's father mentioned about the Chocolate, and well Kim didn't need to be asked twice so we headed in this direction. After $50 lighter in money and chocolate bought, I looked at my phone to discover a cache not that far away, oh well if passing!
Kim, Loopy & I headed to here, and Kim soon had the cache, and to think she's the non cacher in the group! Logbook signed and cache replaced, and time to head home.

3184CF ~ Visiting Australia again, this time with my partner Kim, so adding to the 116 caches I previously had found, but not a caching holiday so odd times getting to grab caches here or there, but no major caching until the end of our trip.
So I have a FTF Streak I've been needing to keep going, I killed it last visit, and getting 3 FTF's on New Years Day last year, so since then found a FTF every month since. So with another visit, I've been worried about the streak while here.
I got the email notification and not too far away from where we're staying, so thought, might as well try.
Loopygirl105 and I headed to GZ from the parked car and discovered another cacher at GZ, so knew FTF had gone, and met UltimateGeoCacheTeam, who said he was STF, so we had TTF.
Nice chatting to you, and sharing the Geocoin, which is now back in the UK ready to go off on it's adventures. Loopy signed the log, and then replaced it.
TFTC.
Oh and got a FTF back in the UK so the Streak continues!

3185CF ~ Visiting Australia again, this time with my partner Kim, so adding to the 116 caches I previously had found, but not a caching holiday so odd times getting to grab caches here or there, but no major caching until the end of our trip.
So 2 days before I had arrived with Loopygirl105 to find this, sadly the battery I had didn't seem to light up the cache much, so I thought we would need to buy a ne battery. Off to the shops I went! (Didn't bother a DNF, as found it just felt own fault for not 'getting it'). [8)]
So after the failed FTF chase this morning, we went off and had fun elsewhere. On the way home, stopped off in Macleod Village for ice cream. It was then that I mentioned to Loopy fancy coming and trying this cache again.
We walked off a bit of the lovely ice cream, and arrived with the new battery, it was then Loopy made a discovery on the back of the cache.
It wasn't until a little after 10 minutes that I worked out why I could hardly see what I was doing, something was blocking the light. Once I did managed to get there, opened up the container and found a toy car was at fault. We signed the log and I moved the toys around inside to make sure the next find enjoyed it just as much as us!
TFTC and a FP for a great cache, who knows it is inspiring! [:o)]

So I had cleared originally this park on a last visit, but now two new ones, one that caught my eye, and well I thought I had a battery that would work with it, but turned out I couldn't open that one, but we headed back to the car via here.
Loopygirl105 found this cache, while Kim & I watched for any muggles, especially those with doggles. Cache log signed and replaced and back to the car. Time to go buy a new battery.

So Loopygirl105 was unable to come down the GOR with us, so didn't miss school last week, so it was decided that today, we'd go to Sovereign Hill, a place I'd never managed to get to before, but a favourite of Loopy's and the family. Had a great day watching things from Candle making, Wheel wrighting, sweet making, gold pouring and before leaving, panning for gold, of which, we both found some!
So we were on the way home, and I wanted to grab a cache, while in the area, and I looked to see what there was, well the FP's on this one flagged it up, and so we decided to come and find out why, and it was worth it!
Didn't take any TB's but did discover some, and of course, Mortdecai McQuack Esq. would have stated but just not big enough for him!
TFTC, and FP awarded.

So previous few days were down the Great Ocean Road, and I grabbed plenty of Earthcaches then, but needed one for today. We got back to my Sisters last night, so today was off exploring around Dandenongs again, and not the first time I'd been here, but last time there wasn't an Earthcache here!
Enjoyed the view again, and as always a bit busy here, even later on in the day, still got to have some food and drink in the Café.
Thanks for the Earthcache!

3180CF ~ Visiting Australia again, this time with my partner Kim, so adding to the 116 caches I previously had found, but not a caching holiday so odd times getting to grab caches here or there, but no major caching until the end of our trip.
My sister had a Photography Competition to judge in Warrnambool, so after a few days in Melbourne, headed down the GOR, for Kim to get a chance of seeing this beautiful area of Vic. The few days on the GOR managed 7 caches.
This was the only cache for the day, but an early start in the morning, as heading back to Melbourne.
I had come here last year with the whole Law Clan (Loopygirl105's family) and none of us could spot it, but we weren't the only ones then so this time, I had my lucky charm, Kim, and even though I wasn't the one to find it, my sister did, we were happy to find it at least, and enjoy the stunning view, which Kim loved.
TFTC and a FP for the view!

Last cache of the day, and an unexpected one, as it hasn't been found for awhile I didn't know what to expect. a few trees have come down and blocked paths to the site, so I didn't know exactly where to start from. So I just went for it, from the best angle I thought, bad idea but didn't get hurt or injured. I arrived at GZ and was heavily impressed.
I didn't know if the hiding spot would be dangerous or not, as I could see webs in there, but I carefully went for it, it was heating up at this point. grabbed, signed and replaced. took some photos and then followed the proper path back to discover that I had started in the right spot, so didn't need to go the long way round.

Next stop after Bay of Islands, was here as London Bridge is so anticlimactic according to my Sister. Posed for a picture with Kim while I gathered information and back to the car, weather not brilliant today.

3174CF ~ Visiting Australia again, this time with my partner Kim, so adding to the 116 caches I previously had found, but not a caching holiday so odd times getting to grab caches here or there, but no major caching until the end of our trip.
My sister had a Photography Competition to judge in Warrnambool, so after a few days in Melbourne, headed down the GOR, for Kim to get a chance of seeing this beautiful area of Vic. The few days on the GOR managed 7 caches.
So arrived into town and headed to our accommodation for the night, and once settled in, my Sister fancied a walk along the beach. I had saved A LOT of caches in Vic to my phone prior to leaving, so I worked off what I could and saw this cache here.
Kim and I walked here while my sister and nephew were on the beach. A nice quick find once muggles had walked by, and the log was signed and replaced back in it's hole. Right time to go get food!

3173CF ~ Left London Heathrow Airport on Friday, made it to Dubai late, and was informed our flight would be delayed so the planned Dubai & Singapore Cache, for a challenge back in the UK was out the window, but luckily gone midnight so had present day to get two caches 1,000 miles apart!
Got the one in Changi Airport, Butterfly Garden and then carried on to Melbourne after a 2km round run in 25 mins . My partner and I arrived into Melbourne and headed off to my Family's home, and wanting to show my partner a good view of the city not too far away and with some of the Flying Foxes around here as she loves 'wildlife', we came for this cache.
parked up right by the cache, so while my missus was taking more pictures after being down by the Flying Foxes, finally found and signed the log, meaning we had completed the Challenge.

Coming back over from UK, and as I had cleared this area on my last trip, I will be back to this park, and bringing the muggle missus, hopefully this cache might make her want to take up caching!
Hope all ok with it between 2nd Oct to 21st.

On my next trip over, I will have to come and grab this cache, not just because it's near to where my sister was, but also because located in this cemetery is the grave of Tom Wills, the founder of a sport I enjoy watching and wouldn't have watched unless visiting Australia.

2110CF ~ First time visit to Amsterdam for the Pir8s Old (The Old Man) & New (The Lad) from the UK.
We arrived into the morning, and on the list of things to do was for The Old Man to go to the Anne Franks museum, and because of my past with military, wasn't wanting to spent time in the museum. After getting one cache, I decided to leave again the Old Man in the queue and headed off for a few others on the list. It wasn't all about numbers or geocaching today, but we did have a Mega at some point to head towards in Hoorn.
Headed here while on my way to get a Tram, and met a German couple who had just found the container as I arrived. Quick cache and hope they had a lovely day in Amsterdam.

2001CF ~ Visiting from the UK to Australia for awhile to see family, now back in the UK. Catching up on my logging, sorry for the delay CO's. ~ The Lad.
Found cache with my Niece 'Loopygirl105', who is 8 years old, and also with her parents at times, who I'm trying to teach how to cache!
It was going to be a long day, especially as I'm ill and due to be catching a plane in a few hours, but the aim was to find my second oldest geocache find to date. And with this so close to where Loopy girl lives, it would be rude not to find it.
Loopy, her mother/my sister and I walked to GZ with the two dogs and then after a search, loopy soon had a quick find for her. Log signed container replaced before walking back to the car and me heading off to home for one last time to pick bags up before flying home.
Thank you for this geocache, a FP for it as due.

It was going to be a long day, especially as I'm ill and due to be catching a plane tomorrow, but the aim was to finish the day with the Oldest Geocache in Victoria under our belts, and it would be my 2000th Cache find.
Drive by this one, as I wanted to grab some on route to the make sure I hit 1999th cache before Melbourne's First.
Quick, Easy Find, signed and on we went to next one near park.

So we had to walk the dogs, and so brief grabs with them to start it off. This was end of the walk, and last one before jumping back into the car. Nice spot, and sadly damp log.

Not so much a drive by this one, as I wanted to grab some on route to the make sure I hit 1999th cache before Melbourne's First, but this one was a targeted cache too. It would be my last 2002 cache for the Jasmer challenge, so as driving by would be rude not to get.
Drove to the tower, and parked up, wow nice tower. Gathered information, and then Loopy and I went off in the direction of the GZ Final. Once there soon spotted the host and with a bit of work soon had container in hand, signed and on we went on the journey.

What better milestone than this cache. (Also it's the oldest geocache find to date I've found.)
We enjoyed the trip up, grabbing some caches on the route to make sure it would be the last cache, and now we parked up not too far away. At the time, a car was already parked near by and wondered if another cacher here, but no one around.
Loopy and I walked to GZ and quick find for her. Walked back up to the big log and sat down and signed the log, before picture of us both with it. What a great spot for it, had a brilliant journey with views to here and ending the day on a high. Loopy left some toys inside, and I took note of a TB in the box.
Thank you for this geocache, a FP for it as due.

Found cache with my Niece 'Loopygirl105', who is 8 years old, and also with her parents at times, who I'm trying to teach how to cache!
Now after getting back from camping down on the Great Ocean Road, we had to go drop off some friends bicycles before returning the hire trailer. I had this cache saved on my phone needing the hidden date for the Jasmer Challenge, so after drop off, we came here and off Loopy and I went.
At GZ we soon found the spot, but a Muggle nearby was acting weird as she basically walked her dog completely around us by 10 metres looking at us. But we didn't give the game away, looked like taking pictures of the hiding spot.
Log soon signed and replaced, but not seen doing it.

Mummy Loopy retrieved this, because on Monday I would be flying out of the country and last thing I wanted to do was put my hand into hiding spot and get bitten.. Because while looking, used phone with camera and got to see the container hidden, and above it, were TWO RED BACKS! [xx(]
Log was signed and container hidden just a little easier to retrieve.

1985CF ~ Visiting from the UK to Australia for awhile to see family, now back in the UK. Catching up on my logging, sorry for the delay CO's. ~ The Lad.
We had been staying in the Lorne area camping, so had some geocaches saved to my phone, but sadly not all of them. On the way home now, and I'm still rough from going down with Tonsillitis, so as it was late and only my sister and I were still awake in the front, I was asked if I wanted to go grab the virtual off the West Gate Freeway, so why not!
Arrived at GZ and my sister said she was staying in the car so I went and checked out the building quietly. As I'm from England, I had never seen the TV programme so had to do some research, but I got there in the end.

On the way home now, and I'm still rough from going down with Tonsillitis, so as on the journey I handed my phone over to Loopy and said she best go find the cache with her father. After 5 minutes they returned but said it was hard to reach but Daddy got it with sticks.

Stopped off for lunch in Apollo, and after a busy lunch in town, popped here before heading off to catch a helicopter. Quick find at GZ, and got out a new log sheet from bag and signed that.

Stopped off for lunch in Apollo Bay, on our way to The Apostles to catch a helicopter flight over them. After enjoying a great 25 min flight, mainly of me with phone in hand recording the flight, we popped to the visitors centre afterwards to get an ice cream. While the sign area was packed with visitors just managed to get info needed.
Picture is from the flight. FP awarded as great to return here again.

Stopped off for lunch in Apollo Bay, on our way to The Apostles to catch a helicopter flight over them. After enjoying a great 25 min flight, Loopy's father hadn't been here before and wanted to see it better after the flight, so after the apostle's Earthcache, made our way here.
Last cache of the day as I was starting to feel quite bad from illness, so walked down to the grotto and gathered information and posed for a picture with Loopy.

This cache was easily found, but to conditions around the cache at present aren't suitable for children. It needs cleaning up, of which at the time, I was unable to do without gloves. I didn't let Loopy go in to find it.

Today we were heading to Apollo Bay and onwards to the apostles for a helicopter flight. On the way stopped and found this cache. Great container and reason for cache here, sadly some dog walker didn't clear up after their dog so future cache finders be careful.

We are staying in the Lorne area camping, so had some geocaches saved to my phone, but sadly not all of them. Today, had to pop to the Doctors, but first thing to try and feel better, a walk along the beach after a DNF at pier.
Got to GZ and found the container and boy it was rusty and logbook was damp and stained. Maybe time for a new container? Sadly none with me at the time.

Last cache of the day and clever, I didn't realise it until Loopy's mum found it. Shows the caching is wearing off on her!

First cache of the day while popping back from this direction, had hoped to see friends. I had been at Split Point Lighthouse 3 years ago, before I did caching and so when I said about the Earthcache here, I realised it was going to be some educational time, for kids and grownups.
Was great to be back here, if only for this one, because the views are great and Loopy got to have some fun with her Mother.
TFTC, and have a FP.

Popped along today to grab a cache while Loopy's Mother wanted to take some pictures of the falls. Lovely spot, but boy what a lot of steps, especially when not well! Loopy retrieved container and signed for us both.
