[FTF] with SocialClimber ??? & mountainsbeyond It was a bit of a mystery to know where we were going to end up roadside despite three of pouring over maps before heading off. We think we hit the sweet spot parking-wise but it's difficult to tell for certain without parking or head trail waypoints provided. We drove on the Palerang Road (firetrail), up Jinglemoney Fire Trail parking at S35 28.397 E 149 35.913. Noting that it was a very slow drive on the Jinglemoney Fire Trail but all doable with an SUV. With just a 1.3km hike to GZ the bush looking was open but for how long? Turns out, it's like that the whole way from here!It was a straightforward hike up to GZ with little bush bashing as the vegetation is low and rocks are very visible at ground level. We had been expecting a far harder hike given the terrain rating at T4.5 but it was more like a T3.5 albeit steep for just the first 200m. Not knowing where the CO started from we surmised that it could well be a T4.5 given the gullies, large boulders and thinker ground covers seen to our left and right. The last 100m, of this mostly gentle incline of a hike, is really beautiful with plenty of flowers, low growing shrubs, plenty of moss hanging high, low and everywhere in between. The butterflies around the trig were a delight. As we circled around the structure the butterflies danced around us for the whole time we stood admiring the beautiful scenery. Great to see the bush slowly rebounding since the 2020 fires despite the sparseness of low vegetation in most parts on the SPURs. Part way up we can across an old track that made the walk far easier however we decided to go straight up instead to save time as the bush is open. On the way back we re-joined the trail midway and it took us in a slightly different direction. Too much talking and lack of attention meant that we needed to back track about 100m some 200m from the car but fortunately a little easier when you are heading down hill. We stopped many times on the way there and back to take photos of the numerous spring native flowers. It took 2:30 hrs for the round-trip spending a good 40 minutes at GZ enjoying the area around the trig. Worth a favourite point. TFTC Tankengine!

Cycled early morning from Belconnen targeting this cache via an AL, and back home via an event, for a total 35km (1:47hours) elapsed time 5.5 hours. Met up with friends at GZ ready for a stroll. Relatively quiet in Parliament House today as we made our way around a very familiar location. Data quickly collected and we headed to GZ for a quick find and lovely views back over the big house on the hill. Always good to learn more about of indigenous sisters and brothers. Fun! A beautiful location for an event with mountain and water views. Three of us arrived at 11:30am making sure that we had a table in the shade given the heat of the day. We had an unusual hour of non-activity together in the one location that was relaxing and fun. Brain arrived to cook the snags as the cacher numbers grew and grew. However, I had to leave early due to family commitments early afternoon. Cycling home was quick but hot, and it was a welcome surprise to hear that some time after I had the event's [FTF] which is much appreciated ??, Thx Brian for the prize ?? and the event.
A fun AL , and bonus picked up on our way over cycling to Parliament House early morning. Location is beautiful as are the water views. Cute cache container appropriately themed. TFTC dty73!

[FTF] with mountainsbeyond and SocialClimberGreat cycling ??? ??? ??? exercise circuit, great location, great company!Lots of wildlife but sadly not all natives. A gorgeous evening perfect for a last minute unplanned adventure! Worth a favourite ?? for the GZ location and the ridable trail making this adventure in the time available very possible. However, we had our lights and other safety gear just in case we were back in the dark but it was not necessary. TFTC Tankengine!
Too hot to cache but got this loner out in the burbs anyway. Interesting to find this infrastructure in this location! Took longer to find the micro than expected as our GZ was actually in the Photinia robusta clump. We recognised the cache camo after we ventured over to the more obvious location upon reading the hint. TFTC ClarkBEm!

Back in town hoping that the CO had completed maintenance but we were left disappointed again having been here earlier in the month. We are trying to cleanup Goulburn so are working hard to complete our mission by years end. Maybe next time.
A lovely location with is far safer castle than it was when our kids were little back in the 90s. Quick find requiring a slow careful retrieval and return. TFTC Tankengine.
Had forgotten that we had looked for this one earlier in the month, happy to replace it next time we are out this way.

This part of the bush reserve is far lusher and green than the top side. Good to see the various changes with the flora. Certainly more appealing and cooler to hike on a warm day like today. If you ignore the highway noise it's a lovely location. A favourite point of this cache for this great series that took us around 2 hours to complete at a leisurely pace. Quick find.
