Logs for hakeaman

02-Apr-10
This cache is no longer with us. Cache probably muggled.

Nice easy find. Shame I couldn't say that about the public carpark. Went around in circles unit a passing helicopter pointed me in the right direction.

Was doing some field work in this nature reserve, and remembered that I had a geocache hidden somewhere. Luckily I had my GPS with me so I found the location, and located the cache. Camo covering still intact. This is a tricky cache!!!

Nice easy find, in this relatively seclude part of Dianella. By the way 'Breckler Strikes Back' has been archived. Might want to remove any reference to it's existence in your geocache description.

Certain this trig point was fairly obvious. Wonder why it is so tall? Lived in the area for 30+ years and never new it existed.

24-Jan-09
Have disabled this geocache as there have been quite a few DNFs recently. Will investigate and report on my findings.

29-Sep-08
Last find of today in this bush reserve. Again nice easy find.

Nice easy find on a public holiday. Did it during the day time.

Nice easy find on a public holiday. Saw a kangaroo!!! I wonder how many there are in this 'open space'.

Found 3 caches in the area today. Nice walk - now I need to check to see if I've been bitten by ticks.

24-Jul-08
nice easy find. Driving from Canarvon to Moora today, so needed a break.

23-Jul-08
Found whilst doing a 'spur of the moment' drive to coral bay for the day.

What a busy place. Caravan city of what!!!

22-Jul-08
Nice easy find. This landmarks is full of history, yet not any information about it's important role was present. I was a bit disppointed that this isn't more of a tourist attraction. Hopefully it will feature in the 40th anniversary of the landing next year.

Had two attempts, but found with a bit of logical thinking.

16-Jul-08
Found on day 4 of my 2 week holiday north of Perth. Felt a bit exposed as I'm sure everybody could see me from the lookout.

15-Jul-08
Relatively easy find on a very windy day. Found on day 3 of my 2 weeks 'northern' holiday

14-Jul-08
Nice easy find. Must come back one day and do the entire walk.

07-Jun-08
4th find of the day. What a strange place for a work of art.

3rd find for the day. Had to wait for some muggles to leave (they were almost on top of the cache). Luckily I could pretend I was checking out the wildflowers (which is actually what I do)

Nice easy find whilst walking in the area. Nice day for a walk

2nd find for the day. With all the rain we had recently it's nice to know that plastic containers are waterproof.

10-Jan-08
Found whilst in the area. As a botanist I should remember not to walk thorough the bush in shorts....ouch... (Acacia pulchella strikes again!). Did not remove as was afraid I couldn't get it back (you'll see what I mean!)

05-Jan-08
Nice easy find on a windy summer day

Nice easy find (3rd for the day)

Nice easy find on a windy summer day

01-Jan-08
This one is definately missing. Spent much time search every tree in the area, until a local geocacher came by and showed us where it should have been. This cache needs replacing or archiving.

Happy New Year!!! Could have parked closer but didn't know the road in.

20-Dec-07
Unfortunately this cache has indeed been muggled. It has been good whilst it lasted. May rehid new cache in the new year.

19-Dec-07
I will need to visit geocache site and determine if the cache has indeed been muggled. Will report my findings soonish. Hakeaman

02-Sep-07
Nice easy multi-cache. my GPS unit actually got me within 2 m each time (a small miracle!). One of the CD cases was exposed (i.e. not hidden) and could go walkabout in the future (E clue).

Nice easy find. Was in the area looking at the Hakea trifurcata's in flower. Have a look at this strange plant (it's easily identified by the two distinct leaf types - broad and needle-like) - the broad leaves look like it's green fruit.

14-Jul-07
Nice easy find. Didn't bring a dog (and Dad refused to leave a paw print!!)

13-Jul-07
After finding this cache I have decided that I am clinically unfit. After sitting down to 'die' it took me a while to find (I personally blame the GPSr). Did manage to walk another 6 km in the area afterwards, and discovered an easier way back to the hertiage trail. Geo-teenager was not impressed and suggests that your next cache should be in a 'flat' area.

Found after a rather long detour from where car was parked. I thought I had plenty of time to get cache struggle back to the car and leave before the gate closed. I was wrong!!! Got to CLOSED main gate at 4:15 pm. Had to drive down to ranger - becareful of large vicious dog - to open gate. Apparently he didn't see my car parked near the information bay and decided to close early. Certainly are a lot of things you can't do - can't even walk on a section of the road. Let's hope we don't see a 'NO GEOCACHING' sign!!!

[Found after a bit of searching.] botanically speaking it's not bark that's it under, but a log.

Nice easy find, even with a nagging geo-teenager who decided after walking 1 km that he was determined not to enjoy the experience.

11-Jul-07
Found with assistance of the hint.

10-Jul-07
#3 of 3 found whilst on geocache-hunting expedition in the area. Decided to take a more 'scenic' route from 'Hills Hideawy'. Wouldn't recommend - unless you like walking through thick scrub. Much easier to park at nearby parking area.

#2 of 3 found today whilst on a geocache-hunting expedition in the area. Nice easy find.

Found whilst on a cache-hunting expedition in the area. Decided to take a more 'scenic' route from the gully. Bush a bit thicker than I expected. Of course once I got to GZ I noticed a track nearby which I took on my way down. #1 of 3 found today.

09-Jul-07
Nice easy find on a glorious sunny winter afternoon.

Nice easy find with only a few muggles about. It was in the first place I looked (a minor miracle for me!). Container has lost it's painted surface, which is probably why I found it.

I did remember to look up (straight into the sun!). Found quite easily, although we took the 'long route' to get to GZ.

18-May-07
I have disabled this for the moment. Need to do some maintenance.

12-Apr-07
Thought I might finally have a 'first to find' but instead I'm the first not to find. I must admit I got to GZ very late in the afternoon (almost dark). Lots of rubbish to confuse me, gave up when light was a limiting factor. Had to travel back to Perth that night so was unable to have a second attempt. I shall return.

09-Apr-07
Easy find with help of clues. I think the pencil has 'fallen out' and needs replacing. This was the last of three cache I did this morning in the area - travelling approx 5-6 km on foot.

2nd of 3 caches found in the area this morning. Easy find as the cache was a bit exposed. Found a few golf balls half buried in the sand so didn't stay to long (had to leave be-FORE I got hit [golfing pun]).

Found by luck than skill (i.e. first place I looked). I was muggled when filling in log. Cache need new plastic bag, as the current one is distintigrating.

31-Mar-07
This cache is back online.
