Logs for suss vulture

Another trip towards our Mecca, aka Aireys Inlet, and another few hours spent in Anglesea. The weather was nice and cool, the sky a little dim, tourist numbers still quite bearable - perfect conditions for a walk around town, following the lure of the AdLab locations. Of course we checked out the street libraries along the way.Once we had collected all the information we needed, we went to have lunch in one of our preferred venues, and figured out where we had to go to find the bonus. A neat hide, with a strong guardian protecting the entrance. We left a TB to continue its journey.

Thank you Team Crackers for adding an extra level of joy to our afternoon, en route to visiting the grandkids! We enjoyed adding caching to the afternoon.Finding and signing the bonus cache was not a problem, just some tiny gnats were trying to make a meal of us.Thanks heaps for placing this series where we pass regularly!
14-Oct-24
We'll be there, have secured arrangements with family that we can be in Geelong that day.

Checked on this one today, it's exactly where it is meant to be.
We checked in today, found the cache where it is meant to be, and removed some items that are not suitable to being in a geocache. All good here.
Back today to continue our streak here. We only had time to do three, this was the first of them, and quickly found.
This one was easily spotted from the footpath but we had to be disciplined and wait until all the muggles had passed.
Our last find during today's short visit. We traipsed around the rubbish for quite a while until we finally got it. And then, of course, we were once again wondering why we didn't see it earlier, it is so obvious.Good-bye trail, until next time we are in the area!

We made the long and treacherous trip to this event, and it was worth the effort! A lovely get-together with geocachers, many of whom we had not seen in quite a while. Lots of excited and exciting conversations were had and two birthday girls were toasted over a meal that took a while to arrive at our table. Many thanks, The_Tritonz, for organising a relaxed get-together!
22-Sep-24
Have been eyeing off this one as it is within walking distance from the SV home base. Now we know we won't be going to Melbourne for the Grand Final, we are certain that we will attend. Looking forward to the event. *2*

Today we returned and added another 7 smilies to our tally here. The weather was nasty, driving wind and rain making us earn our find really hard at this end of today's adventure, whereas the sun was shining when we were at the top end of the series. Thanks again for the series.
So many options here but we found it in the end, and then we couldn't unsee it.Now the weather picked up for us.
Our 7th and last one for today. Now back to the car and off to grandparent duties.Thank you for another opportunity to break the trip with a few caches and stretching our legs.

We had a bit of time with our friend Toyhunters today and decided to find a few caches in this area. This is a very pretty mushroom home, thank you for inviting us to visit here! The host is probably home to a few more fungi, but it is also refusing to die, as the sprouting greenery demonstrates!
Our second find today with our accomplice, and another Dr Who won over. This one has encountered a little bit of violence, or maybe the recent storms took their toll?Photo being sent to CO.
So, now we are up-to-date with Dr Who, for a while at least. We love coming down here and making it a ritual to do this in specific company. Thanks The_Tritonz, for all the fun with your quality hides!
It's an unwritten law, aka a tradition, that we find the Time Lords in the company of our friend, the young Toyhunter from Canberra. Today was one of those opportunities as he was visiting Victoria for various reasons. We were very pleased to catch up and immediately agreed when he suggested that we could try and find the remaining Dr Who caches, which had sprung up since he last was in Geelong for a visit. So we did, and we had a great time together, admiring the containers as always and chatting away as we went.Another episode in a long-standing, solid friendship, sealed with a few cache finds.

What a lovely morning and location to catch up with some cachers, exchanging happy stories and hugs while enjoying the view and some treats! We helped reduce the delicious cake, swapped and discovered some TBs, and were treated to the latest edition of our growing collection of Maccamob pathtags. After that, we went on to find another cache that has been around for a while.Thank you for inviting and feeding us Crack'n'LeeLee. What a lovely effort, especially with one of you coming straight off a long shift at work!
A nice walk after attending the event at Point Danger, we enjoyed the walk, the views and the cache.
23-Aug-24
We braved the Friday traffic and then the big wet from above. There were quite a few intrepid already picking up rubbish, so we joined in and helped making a difference. Thanks for organising this CITO to kick off the weekend!

We checked all WPs recently and found them to be just as the master designed them. At GZ, however, some works have been carried out, meaning that access to the cache was well and truly blocked, though it was still in place. Following multiple visits with tools, today we were finally able to free it and disturb the resident huntsman (pretty sure it's not the original one, but it looked equally annoyed when we shed some light on it). So, keep searching, remember Bushfire's mantra 'expect the unexpected', and ye shall find. The structure at GZ needs some thinking and some gentle manipulating to get to the goods. Please replace exactly as found! The D rating here is 4.5 for a reason. Happy hunting!
After finding the first 10 caches of this series a couple of weeks ago, we decided to continue when we return to this area. We don't normally come here very often, but chance brought us back as soon as today, and we found four more of the little treasures, in this lovely area.Again, we will continue our walk and search when we can - whenever this may be. Thanks for showing us these lovely walking tracks!
Found during our stroll along this section of the beautiful trail. Quickly spotted thanks to accurate coords.
Found during our Day 2 along this path. We searched for a while, until one of us found it where we had both looked before. Then, of course, we couldn't unsee it anymore.
Our final find for today, near our parking coordinates, before we had to move on to the next part of today's plans.Thank you for bringing us here, it looks like we will be completing this trail over quite some time.

This one should fit in well for us. Planning to be there.

At the end of our weekend with a friend in Lorne we added a few geocaches into the mix of activities. We came to Teddy's to admire the concretion bowls in crazy windy conditions. Another highlight of Nature's miracles that we enjoyed this weekend was the sighting of two platypus in St George River. What an amazing experience this visit has been! Our answers are coming soon. Sorry for the delay, "life" got in the way.
A nice AL series at the end of a cosy winter weekend with a friend in Lorne. Thanks for taking us to the Lab locations, and also for the bonus cache.

During one of our regular family visits to Lang Lang we finally gave this old nemesis another go. Lo and behold, V was holding the cache up by the time S had finally crossed the road! Happy to finally put a smilie on this hide.
Today we were travelling near here and decided to give this trail a go, see how far we get.We only completed #1-10 before our empty stomachs decided that we needed to return to the Geo Wings. Walking the distance was not an issue, we even avoided getting our feet completely wet after all the rain the area has had. What cost us a lot of time were the multiple hiding options for each of these caches. We enjoyed the path, the wetlands and the birds, especially the white-faced herons. We hope to be back here to continue the series soon.
17-Jul-24
Oh no!Something has come up, forcing us to be out of town. Sorry we can't make it after all.
11-Jul-24
Checked on this one, all good here. We gave it a new container with a stronger attachment device.
Maintenance run on a perfect winter's day. Cache is in good order. Replaced the bag and left a TB.
Found during a maintenance run in the area.Love the logbook, very original! Hope we have the winning number.Left a TB to continue its journey.
