Logs for txrx

04-Nov-04
Found today but bad news I'm afraid, It was full to the top with water. I emptied the container and shook the excess water off all items but the contents are very sad looking indeed. Even the ziplock bags were full of water. The log book was also wet through so I didnt leave a note. Did'nt have my 'Cache repair kit' on hand so Ive humbly walked away leaving it in only slightly better condition than it was.
Quasar when you get a chance this one needs some TLC.
I thoroughly enjoyed the walk and the area all the same, very interesting little deviation in an otherwise ordinary day Smile.

30-Oct-04
Found at 15:30 after wandering around with Mum for 20 or so minutes checking out this curious site. She opted to stay at ground level when we arrived at GZ but I thought the view was great.
Took nothing, Left Hairclip.
Thanks Pyrenees Kid for a nice walk and a great spot.

Found this afternoon at about 18:00. Took some time to find a couple along a route today with my Mum in between visiting rellies. We used to swim out here many years ago when there was a rickety old steel platform about 15m out in the water and a swinging rope hanging from the big tree near the carpark, Both have either fallen down or been removed for safety reasons since then.
Found the GZ pretty quickly but the GPSr played up proably due to tree cover so put it down and we were within about 15m of it when located.
Took fishing Floater, Left parachute alien.
Thanks Wanderers for a nice walk down memory lane.

Found at 17:15 today with caching buddy Lena. After searching for 20 mins or so I was starting to think I was in the wrong spot, put the GPSr down for 5 mins and turns out I was.. Saw heaps of bunnies and gave some blood for the mozzie cause. All in all a wonderful day for caching Smile.
Took nothing Left glo-worm
Thanks GeoJo and Lucy Diamond for a fun walk and top location.

20-Oct-04
Walked straight up to this one at 16:15 today, could'nt miss it, then decided to go for a walk in the sand as I'd never even seen this section of beach before. Taken clues for future reference. Great location thanks muzza.

Great day for this cache, I wasnt too fussed to have to look around for a while, and when finally found (im sure I looked there already.) I had a bit of a chuckle. The two locals in the picture approached near the GZ very curiously and they certainly werent camera shy.

Considered walking this one from Beach access cache but ended up wimping out and taking the car. What seemed like an easy, straight approach ended up being a little more cross country than planned but I wasnt the first to tackle the route Smile.
Found at 15:45 after a quick search with only a few others in the vicinity. Took car, Left Polar bear & Duck.
thanks gmj3191 for an interesting walk.

Found today at 17:30 after standing at various locations for 15 mins in a radius of about 10m, the sanity check on the numbers brought me to the right; and very clever spot. thanks muzza, nice park.

17-Oct-04
Found today with Lena at ~14:30 after driving by thrice thinking we were still some way away, missing attention on my part as much as anything bearing related Wink
Didnt have any beer goodies on hand so swapped a Hairclip for a small toy car.

Cache was well covered and not likely to be seen from the road. Odd location this one but I liked the drive-by effect.

I was all excited when I read about the 100K maps in the list for this one but alas, they had moved on when we arrived today so onwards and forwards with the 250K Smile.
Found at about 1600 with Lena, very little other activity on this area of the park today apart from a few dog walkers and cyclists. Made us think we should've packed the bikes too but it was a great day for the walk.
We searched for around 15 mins and located the cache well covered.
Thanks Blaze_au for bringing us here and the well constructed puzzle to get to the cache.
took a duck and left a crocodile, it seemed appropriate at the time.

Went back for this one today after missing the chance last week due to what seemed like a sporting convention taking place on the day.
Found it within about 15 mins today at ~13:30 with no-one else in sight with caching buddy Lena.
First of 5 for the day. Great spot, thanks dak and Emu Mob for another fun find.
I acheived ataraxia after completing the mission (and editing the log) to include the cache requirement, after leaving it stuck to my dashboard with blu-tac.
Took: Dinosaur - Left: Cow

Found today at about 15:15 with Lena, Id never seen this park before so really enjoyed the walk and the surroundings. The tree cover had us darting around a bit but found in about 20 minutes one we were in GZ.
The mozzies were out in full force around here today too but who could blame them with such a wonderful day.
Swapped a caterpillar for a blue car (travelling from bricker brac Smile
Thanks The Ducks Guts for a nice walk and a challenging mosquito battle, we won of course.
Troy.

Nice area out here, sitting in the carpark we wondered if it was correct bearings but ended up trusting the satellite Gods and headed bush for the second clue, expecting the broken sign after reading the last few log entries; like others, we had no problem interpreting the message from the remains and drive in, Ive attached a pic of the broken sign, dont think its much of a spoiler (?).
On the way to the final GZ we almost ran into the spiky little fella in the other pic. He seemed focused on hiding in this little grass bush so we left him to his business and went about ours.
Found the cache at about 17:30 after searching around for about 15 minutes, Just because its big dosent mean easy to find!. Well hidden and protected, had some water on the lid but none inside.
Swapped the parachute alien for a power rangers marble while battling the mozzies.
Thanks Jochat, Bob and JF for a challenging and fun time with this one.

Visited again today and replaced ziplock plastic bag for Log book.
Took: Hopelessy lost travel bug after looking into its history, he'll be moving on asap.

I used to live in this area and its great to get back and check out the local haunts. Found the cache within about 15 mins with the help of my Mum/caching partner for the day.
On a side note I was up this way a few months ago doing a radio survey from the tower and the Tower dude (Fire Bgd I think) came and asked me what I was doing, and if it was geocaching !, this was what really sparked my interest in something Id heard about but never looked at before. He's very friendly and enthusiastic, say Hi if you bump into him. He wasnt onsite today.
Cache is well hidden and in good condition I walked to within 10m of it and saw the 'human touch' pretty easily but I dont think you would find it if not looking.
Great day, thanks Pyrenees kid for a fun hunt.
Took: Hounddog Left: Mondo Figurine

14-Oct-04
Found at 16:45 on a quiet Thursday arvo with my Mum while doing the tourist thing in the district. Ive always liked the ghost town effect of this little area but never suspected there was a cache nearby!. The ziplock bag for the logbook was split, didnt have any on me at the time so will return on my way out today and replace it.
Container is also getting a little beaten and hard to open but still OK. Great spot, thanks Mikita.
Took: GClamp Left: Crimp tool.

My first cache find. Absolute pleasure walking around this park on such a fantastic day. Ive been past here a few times and never noticed the Railway next door!.
Took: Toy car
Left: Alien toy

Great cache, had me searching for 20-30 mins and it all seemed very obvious post-find.
It must be high dragonfly season at the moment as they're as dense as flies down nearer the water.
Im another thats been past this site many times but never stopped to check it out, I didnt realise so much of it was fenced off, seemingly for no reason other than giving the wildlife some peace and quiet. They seemed to be enjoying it.
Took: Necklace
Left: Pencil sharpener
Thanks dak & Mob for a fun hunt.
