Logs for Barnesy

25-Jan-10
Visited the cache with Mustang and Qball

Placed new and improved logbook. No swaps. Took trash out.

Cache is re-hidden in original position with a little extra disguise than previous.

13-Nov-05
Went to check on the cache. All is well, no unexpected guests. Took along Qball for the artistic log.

12-Feb-04
Nice easy find in a fun little town. Found it whilst in transit to the Kepler and Milford walks whilst on a 3 week holiday. Left 'Pat' the Dog TB, took nothing.

10-Jan-04
Great spot near Sydney's beautiful middle harbour. A nice selection of books for 'borrowing' and even better, not late fees. Left Smokey Joe's Cafe by Bryce Courtney, took Freedom Highway by Nigel Krauth. Thanks MRG & BJF!

What a mission. Took the wrong track, took the other track (turns out to be one of the right ones), took another wrong track. Dopex took a run, a jump, a swim, a wade. Finally CACHE! No swaps. Departed in opposite directions using the CB's to make a rendezvous back at the road. No swaps.

29-Dec-03
Ah, so that is why I thought I had found a virgin cache. Instead it was a virgin log book. Nice spot, on first arrival was wondering if I had to grow wings to get to it. No swaps.

Ah ha, what an interesting one. Was near GZ on the 27th and saw someone poking around in the bush. Alas, it was a couple of Bushrat's. Do you two remember seeing a maroon laser parked right next to you with a guy eating lunch? ME! Anyway, a word of advice, try 50m south, they must have been some real heavy clouds Smile No swaps!

Easy find, nice spot, haven't been there in the day before. The GPSR was very flat on batteries as it was "low battery" when I left the house 3 cache's earlier.

Out on a late night walk in preparation for travels to NZ (and to test out the Petzl head torch that santa brought). An easy find on a nice little trail not far from home. One of only a few tracks that I have never been on in the area.
Beware of the spiders if walking at night!

28-Dec-03
The not so easy 2nd cache of the day. Came the easy (read short) way in, only to find a bit of creative trail walking was necessary. Left Rovers keyring, took "Pat the Dog" TB.

Easy find, came and went, the flies were shocking and cicadas deafening. Left springy elephant, took rovers keyring. Now to find the other end of the mysterious tunnel.

20-Jun-03
WP1 discovered, whilst on a 16km round walk.

09-May-03
Whilst on a MTB ride at Red Hill I went back to check on the condition of the cache. Everything is fine and the rock was still blending in with its surroundings.

26-Feb-03
An easy find with Mustang. Found this one after my very first open water scuba dive at Watsons Bay. Nice place for a cache!

12-Feb-03
A great sunny day out with Charlie Company and Leelee. This was an easy find with a much longer than necessary walk but the extended views and the walk itself are great. Left candle, took photo album.

31-Jan-03
Went after this one with Charlie Company. Your not kidding when you talk about spiders and a bouncing GPSr. Decided to take an alternate approach and finally stumbled upon GZ. Nice cache 2 Dogs. No swaps.

Along with Charlie Company for a late afternoon cache hunt, this turned out to be a great adventure. Arriving at WP1 and looking around for a while I decided to check the printout only to find this to be a multi-cache. So off to WP2, not entirely sure that we were allowed to be where we were. It turns out we were, it was just late and no one was around. On to WP3, and what's this, a hole in the ground. No, it couldn't be, how are we expected to get down there. Found it after a bit of exploring. Took springy elephant thingy and left fluffy dice.
Great cache yowie, one of the most interesting I have seen!

29-Jan-03
Easy find, easy access, great weather.
Left tiger snake, took coffee and adhesive 'B'

25-Jan-03
Found this one with Mustang, Spruce Goose, Alison and Liz whilst camping on the long weekend at North Head. An easy find in a nice location. No swaps.

23-Jan-03
Mustang, Spruce Goose and myself returned to the cache (10pm) to deliver some fresh textas!
Happy hunting Smile

17-Jan-03
Spruce Goose, Mustang and I, searched during daylight. Passers by seemed curious as to the suspicious activity. Found gaffa tape and nothing else. Is the cache missing??

Found it with Mustang and Spruce Goose.
Easy find, took self adhesive street number, left elephant bouncy ball.

14-Jan-03
Another late night mission with Spruce Goose, Mustang and one other. Using orginal plus alternate co-ordinates we found this one somewhere in between. Shame about the rubbish, but the view at night was incredible.
Left Wilson card, took nothing.

13-Jan-03
I didn't see any ghosts at the hour of midnight. Must have all been in Dopex's imagination. If you do this one at night, and most likely the day, watch out for the big spiders, and lots of them at that! After searching for 30 minutes around the (moving) GZ, didn't manage to uncover the goods.

Dopex summed up the adventure perfectly. I'm not sure how easy the trek from Kitchener St. is meant to be, but at night it certainly wasn't easy for us navigating thick jungle scrub.

Nice cache 2 dogs Smile

10-Jan-03
Along with Dopex, Mustang and Spruce Goose, this was an easy find once we summoned a ride from a nearby resident/friend.

Took Lego, left mini radio.

Dodging the rain, Dopex, Spruce Goose, Mustang and myself took a short walk to find this one.

Took candle, left...something.

Just after midnight on a night mission with Spruce Goose...

Missed this one as we didn't have many clues or much patience and was on our way to hide another cache. I'll be sure to go back during the day.

The early morning mission with Spruce Goose.

Hid cache approx 0200 hours.

The story so far:
Once upon a time, there was a Queen who lusted for George. This made the King cross so he slept with Brooke to even the score.

Difficulty: 1
Terrain: 1

Tackled this one a second time with Dopex, Mustang and Spruce Goose.

I dont know what happened last time. It was exactly where we were standing. Considering the visibility of the cache itself I think it must have been missing the day we visited it!

09-Jan-03
A late night mission with Spruce Goose.

Nabbed the cache approx 2300 hours.
Nice hide Team Phanargh. Took us a lot longer than it should have to find it.

Attacked this one with Spruce Goose.

Found it within -5 seconds of reaching GZ; myself navigating and the goose leaps and bounds ahead.

No trade as we left the swaps in the car, but Spruce Goose was almost forced to take the finger trap!

07-Jan-03
Found this one with Dopex. Rode down on the mountain bikes late afternoon and attempted a direct line from the south. Had to make a slight detour around murky water (should have known) to find the cache. Cache is high and dry. Left my mark and swapped in an ovalteenie figurine and home brew kit instructions for a wilson card(serial 00006) and the elephant bouncy ball (thanks Bushpushers).

Thanks for the nice location MRG, i had been meaning to explore the island for a while.

06-Jan-03
Found this one fairly easily with Dopex whilst exercising the old mountain bikes. A few minutes off the track and with scratched up legs.
Took ONE red shoe(the other one is lonely) and left Boof.

Geomonkeys, it was actually the 6th, didn't realise that it doesn't use AEST.

Entered via Chesterman Cres. in Davidson (despite the advice from Richard Ames). GPS showed 350m to GZ so Dopex and I thought it would be a nice little tramp. 45 minutes later we approached GZ very dirty and scratched up from some very unforgiving bush/shrubs. GPS showed GZ as being 25m off (see above co-ords). Took the easy way home via established trails.
Swapped lonely red shoe for apple fridge magnet.

05-Jan-03
Searched for this one at 3:30 this morning in a not so coherent state with no luck.
Returned later in the afternoon armed with daylight and found it after 10 minutes.
Took lizard and left an ice scraper (for car windscreen)

03-Jan-03
Glory, my first cache, perfect reception and was found right at GZ. Nice container Urban Bear. EcoTeam, we must have been in one anothers footsteps today, Wet and Wild was on my search path, unfortunately I missed that one as well.

Must have been standing on top of the goods. I took along two friends for my 2nd cache of the day and my 2nd cache ever. Located the direction to GZ after a lot of wandering on top of a nearby cliff for a decent signal. Found the yellow tape on a tree VERY close to GZ but to no avail. Maybe i should review my search technique before returning.

25-Dec-02
Searched with Mind Socket on this one. Dont know what went wrong, there was only a limited number of places for the sucker to hide near GZ.
