Gram is a quilter, and our trip to NYC had to include a visit to the Garment District. So as long as we were in the neighborhood, we also had to visit this virtual cache. I remember this as a current hit in black and white, and occasionally get a chance to see a rerun. Pretty cool to see it memorialized, and in an appropriate location. The requested data have been sent to the C.O.

I spent a couple of very interesting hours exploring the bridge while my wife and daughter headed over to the Opera House for a tour. I began with the pylon substructure, looked at the cannons placed for harbor defense. and eventually paid to climb up inside a pylon to the upper observation deck. The price for that priveledge was $13.00, but was worth it. Lots of historical markers all around that explained many facets of construction, with lots more inside. Displays and dioramas strategically placed at the stair landings allow catch-your-breath-time during the assent. Fabulous harbor views from the top! Photo ops were plentiful, but as I was caching by myself, I was somewhat limited. Attached should be enough pics to document that I was there! Requested answers have been emailed to the C.O., some discovered during my explorations, some online once back home. Overall, a very positive Earthcache experience, much enhanced by doing the Pylon Lookout Climb.

Had a great time. More later when we can get online better! Wifi is $11.00 / hour at our hotel... Gotta find more free hotspots.

I hiked down here from the Dr. Who Library cache while Gram and Beckster did some shopping. A few muggle moms keeping a close eye on their kiddies (and me) but they eventually left, as did the landscaper. That gave me time to search, but to no avail.

Thanks anyway for a couple of other caches and a great event today.

Wow, lots a connections here. We own a similar multicache at home, we've done several library based or themed caches, this one is owned by the hosts of the event we'll attend later, and I am retired school librarian. I felt right at home with this one.

Thanks to the Manly Library staff for allowing this. Not only is a good cache, but the free WiFi (which has been rare for us in Sydney) (and is $11.00 / hour at our hotel) allowed instant entry of a decent log. We have a bunch to put in once we get home and can get online better.

A few more caches this aft, and it's onto the 11/12/13 event just down the road. Lookin' forward to meeting some Oz cachers.

It was actually pretty quiet here this aft. A small group of muggle kids were eating their lunches facing the beach under the watchful eye of their schoolmarm, who was not allowing any straying. Must have already been a long day for her...

Great coordinates, a pretty easy grab, beautiful day, and a creative hide and container. That's what great caching is all about!

BTW, back home is is about -18* C and snowing. We get to love this weather for just a couple of more days!

T - N, L - two USA pennies, TFTC! cYa, Grandpa (Gram and Beckster are off shopping)!

We are in Sydney doing lots a tourist stuff, and even finding a few caches. We are heading to Manly in the morning, will spend the day and head over to the event by 5:00. But we could not fit any chairs in our carry-on bag on the 747... If anybody is able to bring a couple of extras, that would be wonderful. Looking forward to seeing y'all. cYa, Grandma, Grandpa, Beckster

We were down to the Quay several times during our week in Sydney, our hotel was just up the street. But it was 10/12/13 that we made a concerted effort to find this virtual.

As a boy, I'd spend a few weeks each summer break at my grandparents house. My grandmother had been an English teacher at one time, and she had the complete works of Mark Twain, books that I now have. I read most of them during those hot humid summer days at their Huck Finn / Tom Sawyer type of town on the Mississippi River. More recently, we visited Hannibal, Missouri, USA, the fictional home town of Huck and Tom in Mark Twain's classic works.

So when I found the tribute on this trail to Mark Twain, I immediately knew who my nominee would be! His Huckleberry Finn is not politically correct by today's standards, but understanding the time of the setting is during the 19th century helps one understand some of the terminology used. It's still a great tale!

Thanks a lot for highlighting this author walk.

Out to Rottnest for the day. While the girls toured a few shops I headed for this cache. No issues other than the continual swarm of flies, they made the logging go real fast. Sorta like mosquito's back home during our summer months. Other than the flies, we enjoyed a beautiful day on some gorgeous beaches, saw unique wildlife, and learned some interesting local history.

I got up early and took a hike over to the campus. What a beautiful place! Our daughter has been on a short-term work assignment at UWA for the last couple of months, hence our trip to AU. We had seen a similar water feature while shopping earlier in the week so I knew what to expect. However this one was still dry when I arrived. I am not much of a geologist, but onsite and online research seems to have provided me with the needed info to log the find - requested answers have been sent to the C.O. Becky's Bucky TB paid a visit, and I wandered some more before heading back to the apartment for some breakfast. Very nice day for an early morning walk.

Grandpa tried this once solo this aft, but the juggle traffic was too heavy to do a decent search. Later with Beckster nobody was around, and we scored Version 2! Meanwhile Gram toured the gift shop. Now for some of the famous WA fish and chips and the nighttime prison tour.

We spent the day in Freo. Gram and Beckster headed out for the shops, I headed for some caches. This was second on the list. I did the exploring, read the history plaques, went up and down and around the block (twice). Took some notes to send off answers to the C.O. Got the green light to go ahead and log the cache as a find, even though my geology skills are a bit tarnished. Heading to the next one, I got hailed from the parking lot. Gram and Beck found that the shops are only open weekends, they'd been cooking in the car waiting for me to go by. Somewhere around 95 today. So that was the end of caching!

In contrast, a week-and-a-half later, the attached pic shows what we came home to!

Found pretty quick in light muggle traffic, just had to wait for a carload to leave after they parked right in front of me. Gram & Beckster toured the shops while I got to go after some caches.

Bummer...we took the Freemantle Prison Night Tour (highly recommended BTW) and this cache was part of our plans... Too bad it appears to be locked down. But visiting the prison was well worth the trip anyway.

We qualified for this challenge and got our list approved in August as we looked up caches for our Oz vacation. It took two trips down to Bibra Lake and a clarification email with the CO, but we got the find today. This was probably the most work and travel we've ever done for a challenge - this final is about 10,800 miles from home! The crazy things we do for this sport, eh?

Maddy brought us here, but then she stood by silently grinning as the 3 of us groped around. Finally Beck spotted something slightly amiss, then she was standing there grinning showing up the old veteran cachers. Good job! And yes, another good job creating an awesome hide that blends in perfectly making it SO hard to detect. You've raised the bar significantly for cache hiding, duck, and given me some ideas for caches back home.

We spotted the octopus while geocaching in the neighborhood as we headed in to grab a bite of lunch. Wonderful play area which was full of kiddies - the community is truly blessed to have this available!

While planning our trip to Oz, this challenge caught our eye. We knew we qualified and thought we could get to the location. Eventually plans developed to spend a day caching with Maddy, and this was put on the list to do. In fact, she also put together her list and qualified as well. We spent a wonderful day with our gracious hostess, and this cache was the first of several we found south of the river.

Follows is our list, mostly pretty cool caches from the good ole USA.

Eagle-eyed Gram found this one pretty quick as the rest of us stumbled around looking here and there. Our gracious caching hostess Maddy just stood by grinning, offering no advice or hints. But she was impressed that Gram spotted something amiss and was able to make the grab. Another well thought out Duck cache, kudos on putting out terrific ones in this area.

Out caching today with our wonderful WA caching hostess Maddy. While researching caches to seek during our Oz holiday we spotted this one. We are not typically drawn to puzzles, but Gram and Beckster are drawn to malls!!! So I Sat down at the computer and figured out the solution. Thanks for including geochecker, we always appreciate knowing that we are not heading out in a wild goose chase. Once through the mall maze and getting in the right area outside, after a short search by all four of us, Maddy had the little bitty nano in hand.

Found today, more complete log forthcoming!

(con't) Beckster made up for the shaky WiFi in her apartment (thanks a lot, landlord) by finding this cache. Now that we are back home to decent online facilities, I can catch up on logging a bunch. Grandma was here looking for a radio. She did not find one. Grandpa looked, too. He didn't find one either. Good thing Beckster was with us.

T - N; L - the Stewzoo's Racing Key Chain Collector TB, that is in a race and is still in the cache as of Dec. 15 - How about somebody picking it up and getting it moving?

The attached picture shows what we came home to yesterday... we sure enjoyed the AU climate!

Found today, more complete log forthcoming!

(con't) With shaky and slow WiFi at our daughter's apartment, our logs had to be pretty quick. Back home in the USA now, we can get caught up a bit.

Another fabulous duck 43 cache! I am a workshop guy, and manually build many of the caches we own, so I really appreciate a handcrafted cache meticulously put together by somebody. This is certainly one of those. I'd love to see the blueprint for this...

And thanks to Maddy, a local cacher who spent the better part of a day helping us to see some of the best caches in W.A.

We dropped off the Safety First TB, keep it moving please.

BTW, the attached pic shows what we came home to. We very much enjoyed the nice weather downunder!

Caching with Maddy, who spotted this great hide after we all searched awhile. Well done, we appreciate creative well crafted caches!

Grandpa found this one as our caching tour guide Maddy silently stood by. Very pretty area in general, although this particular spot could use some attention. But that also allowed this cache to blend in and not be noticeable. Once again, very well crafted by a cacher who is a master artist in multiple mediums - kudos to you, duck 43.

The climb just about did us in, we're still recovering from 38 hours of travel to get to Perth from north-central USA! But it was worth every one of the 101 steps, the views are terrific. It was also fun watching a couple of young teens as they scampered up and down, trying to bomb one another from the top with their shoes, water bottles, and anything else they could find to throw. Too funny! Nice boys, they were good ambassadors showing downunder friendliness.

We snuck the container out between the boys trips up and down and a couple of other muggles.

Yanks caching in Perth! We are visiting just south of Kings Park, so this was our first Oz caching destination. Beck knew just where we needed to go for this so she led the way. We got the needed info on the way in and back, which has been emailed to the C.O. We took a bunch of pics, but uploading for this cache will have to wait until we get home to a little bit better technology.

Thanks for the virtual cache!

Sounds like fun, but after spenmding time in Perth, we'll be over in Sydney by the 11th. Actually we'll be attending a similar event there the same day as this one.

Have fun! cYa, Grandma & Grandpa & Beckster from north-central USA

We will be in Sydney on Dec 11, and would love to attend this event and meet a bunch of Oz cachers! We have it on our schedule. Maybe we'll take the ferry over and spend part of the day in Manly. Anybody have suggestions of must-do, must-see caches or attractions in Manly?

We are lookin' forward to our trip to Australia and joining everybody at this caching event!

Greetings from central Wisconsin, USA! We will be visiting Perth and Sydney in late November / early December, 2013 and have been virtually exploring Australian caches. That led to this one, which is our first Down Under log.

We found GC40WA3 CCC-Camp Mountain on June 8, 2013. It is in northern Wisconsin, USA, and is at a historical plaque commemorating the civil service program for American young men during the Great Depression of the 1930's. The hint for this cache reads, "Face the sign, look at the right post, Between a "rock" and a "hard place"- this cache is at ground level, it is not burried, but almost buried with a rock over it.". This should qualify as a Find for this virtual in the 3rd logging category.

We are looking forward to logging more caches during our visit!
