Logs for StormyKnights
30-Sep-15
Out and about during holidays with the boy and 3 nephews. Great idea for the hide. Had to give way to 3 horses and their riders. TFTC
10-Jul-15
Cache was reported as wedged, however, there have been several sucessful finds since the 'needs maintenance' log entry. No action required.

What a wonderful camping area Gordon Country is. This cache was hidden a mere 4 minute stroll from where we were camped. The kids can claim the find on this one! Thanks for the cache GraKez. TNLNSL.
Wanderered over to this one from Gordon Rocks. Again, the kids were quick on to this one. There are plenty of great spots to hide caches around this area. May have to hide one out her myself next camping trip. TFTC. SL.

Up here in Darwin for work, and decided to test out the caching app on the phone. It kept leading me from where I thought the obvious hiding place would be, but I was determined to search there anyway as I don't believe it to be as accurate as my Garmin. After 10 mins looking, took another bearing with the phone - hang on - surely not? Yep, should have gone there first. Log will need replacing soon. TFTC. SL. TNLN. Cheers, StormyKnights.

First find in the Northern Territory! Had some Time to kill whilst up here for work. Nice idea for a hide, always good to find something a little different. TFTC SL. (Will need new log soon). Cheers, StormyKnights.

Out enjoying the sunshine and the synchronised swimming antics of the passing whales. First cache hunt in some time for us, and first without the GPSr (used the iPhone app). Thanks for the hide. TNLNSL. Cheers, StormyKnights (with Stellbell67 and LightningJake).

Rare earth magnets have only arrived in the last couple of days. Cache to be replaced weekend of 10-11 Sep.
10-Jul-11
Very cool and windy afternoon, so this was our only cache for the day! Kids liked the unique container.

Went for a quick check today after 2 consecutive DNF's.
Unfortunately it appears the cache has been taken.
I will endeavour to have it replaced witin a week or two.

Well, I will be stuffed... Only just twigged to a blatent clue in the description when logging the find!
This had us all perplexed for a while, and there were a few 'suspicious' items around that threw us off the scent. It was only when I noticed the lack of something that prompted me to investigate further!
This has been one of the best hides I have come accross so far, and therefore earns my first 'favourite' listing.
Well done TheWonderStuff.
The log was damp, but it had been raining for most of the long weekend. Was still able to sign the log, but it may need attention soon.

This cache was literally only a few metres from the front balcony of the unit we stayed in for a wet but enjoyable long weekend.
Have found quite a few in this series now, must mean most of our holidays are coastal!

Took some time to find - the cache was actually on the ground in plain sight on the edge of the billabong. It may have been dislodged by the blowy wet weather. Placed the cache back at the right height, in a depression that matched the container.

Lost Bunch Caches seem to have been the flavour of our long weekend visit to Caloundra!

The kids had fun climbing over the old gun looking for the cache, however, I beat them to the find. I donlt think they were expecting something that small - now they know what a 'micro' is
Ended up coming back to the RSL for a feed that evening.

Out introducing my nephew to caching.
Have only just had my GPS returned after an extended loan, so was unable to download cache log.
When we visited, the cache container was damaged (looked like a rat had chewed it!)
We placed the cache in a zip-lock bag as this was the only thing we had available.

Found this cache today, on our second visit. Thanks for replacing this cache Nortney, I'd say the council clean-up claimed it just before our last visit.
Pathway was quite busy today, was perfect weather for walking - and caching!

Lovely day for a visit to the park! Took along some relatives who are getting interested in the sport, I think the bug has almost bitten......
The log was wet, and out of room for further entries. Left some more paper, and sealed it in a zip-lok bag for protection.

Was talked into a couple of caches by the neice and nephew on a quick over-nighter to Burliegh. Was a little surprised when this cache popped up in the search, a must visit after reading the history.... Was also great to see some of the original logs still left in the cache for all to enjoy. With breathtaking views, active wildlife, and a little cardio workout, this cache is well worth the visit. Thanks sid knee for ensuring this piece of QLD cacheing history endures.

Grabbed the chance to take niece and nephew cacheing on a flying visit to Burliegh. Pleasant stroll from their accomodation. They though it was great being in the 'jungle' in the middle of suburbia! Cache was located closer to track than indicated, however, this may be due to track creep rather than cache creep. Found by the geo-kids after a small hunt.

Since taking up this wonderful sport, I have been continually amazed at the number of nice little parks hidden in areas that have have lived for....well...some time! Thanks for bringing us here

Light drizzle ensured we had the park and monument to ourselves. GPSr had us right in front of a likely hiding place, however, neither I or LightningJake were able to uncover the prize. Stellbell67 decided to have a look while we widened our search.... A total of 10 seconds later, she announced that we were both blind and produced the cache Oh well, all's well that ends well I had to sign log for the GeoKids, as their small hands couldn't write that small...

ARRRGH! This cache brought back memories of a recent trip to the NT, where we were billeted among a plague of these beasts! Couldn't escape that unique aroma [xx(]
I wonder how the local human residents cope with the noise and smell... Just glad it isn't me! Thanks for showing us this area, I was unaware of such a large colony living in local suburbia!

Out for a caching afternoon in the drizzle and occasional shower. Made for perfect caching conditions as we hardly saw another soul all day Was interested in how this area had changed from when I lived in the street where this park is situated. Was able to show my youngest the house he lived in before he turned one, some 9 years ago!

A nice quick find, however, the amount of nearby muggles enjoing the serenity of the gardens made for a challenge!

Still working my way through your hides fireboy! Rather peaceful considering the proximity to the main highway. The cache was quiclky located without raising the dead, however, the living accross the road decided to have a beer and chat at their front fence. Never mind, we took the time to have a good look around and try to find any family names that we recognised. Replaced the cache safely when our observers went to the esky for a refill....

This was a great mini-adventure to get to GZ. Ignoring the remnants of what appeared to be a baricade, and several fallen trees accross the track, we continued on. Negotiating the creek without getting damp feet was a challenge, and the kids fared better at contorting themselves around some fallen trees that criss-crossed the large log that was to be our bridge. Once safely to the other side, a quick scramble had us close to the cache [8)] There were many voices from persons unseen on the other side of the ridge - how they got there is a mystery, and left me thinking that there may be a more comfortable approach Once at GZ, the cache was quickly located and the log signed All that remained was the balancing act back accross the creek and another small scramble up the other side
TFTC, it was a great afternoon out!

Very busy park indeed! Mulled around amongst the plovers until we could make a break for the cache without beeing seen. A quick scratch around and it was quickly in hand. Sat under the shade of some trees whilst the log was signed. Popped it back in to it's hidey hole before venturing over to the workout equipment for a play.

Grabbed a couple of hours for caching whilst visiting the family in Toowoomba. Have driven past this park too many times to mention, first time I have stopped. Kids enjoyed the hunt and a run around the park.

What a wonderful park, of which, Toowoomba certainly has a few! The area was quite busy as people were enjoying the public holiday. I don't know what was more of a concern, the muggles, or the 'You are under video surveillance' sign
The lid of the container has rusted off at the hinge and become detached. It does remain in place if you are cafeful though.

It was nice to stop a while and read the plaques while the kids ran around in the park. It is comforting to see that our history is being preserved, and openly presented.
Nice hide, I was looking for something a little smaller!

I have attended ANZAC day ceremonies for over 30 years, as either a Boy Scout, Cadet, or serving member of the ADF. This year I attended the RAAF Amberley Dawn Service prior to commencing work. Some of you may have been lucky enough to see the last ANZAC fly-over of the F111 that I helped to get off the ground
The photo that I have provided was not taken this year, nor where I attended the Service this year, it is however, one of my favourite captures. I took this photo in my home town of Warwick some years ago, unfortunately I do not know the gentleman in the image.

[As previously stated, log is unusable and the magnet has rusted away. The zoo is worth the trip regardless, and the kids had fun looking for the mysterious 'Lasiorhinus latifrons'.]
[When they found out is ws just a plian old] hairy-nosed wombat [they asked why I didn't say to look for that in the first place. Had to explain that's what made the hunt interesting!]

Was skeptical about the 'road to nowhere', but the GPSr was trusted and we ventured beyond the road end signs....
Flattened grass around GZ gave me a little more confidence, however, there are several tracks shooting off in different directions...
Found after several minutes of searching.
Took 'B is for *#*@#@#@*#*' geocoin,
Left 'Antoine Travel Express' geocoin.
