Great start to GCC with the Mighty Marketeers! Thanks for the find - great to see it still there as we were the original cache owners back in the day!

Lovely walk up to the trig on a hot clear morning with just enough wind to keep us cool. Impressive views -- the South Island looked close enough to touch! Thanks for bringing us to one of the best views in the region. TNLN. TFTC!

Just popped in today to ensure that cache was still there - all is well - happy caching!
14-Dec-08
Beautiful day to spend out walking the ridges of Wellington. There was heaps of sun, with a breath of wind to take off the heat. Great spot for a cache!! TNSL, TFTC - blondie-n-baldie

Hello,
Unfortunately part of the memorial has gone, which has resulted in us having to disable this cache, which is a shame given it's historical value.
Cheers,
Charlotte and Colin.

Unfortunately due to this cache always being muggled and having replaced about 4 or 5 times in the process, we've decided to archive this cache, even though it's in a great little spot....

Hello Kiwi_Explorer,
Sorry that you weren't successful on gaining entry into Brooklyn Blades, we haven't encountered this to be a problem before. But in seeing your email, I've done some research and found that the road is open in summer from 8.00am-8.00pm and till 5.00pm in the winter.
I suppose by closing it, it would help keep out unwanted vandals as well. Sorry that you weren't able to attempt this time, but we hope that on your next trip back you are more successful.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, we have updated our listing accordingly.
Cheers,

We started this one months ago. Finally found on the 3rd visit. We had a false start with the first waypoint due to using a PDA for the clue. After the second visit and an extended search in completely the wrong area, the penny finally dropped. 6 months later and we finally got the time to bag it. The projected waypoint was off by some 30 metres so found with the help of the clue. Naturally the projection relies on the correct starting position but I'm pretty sure we got this bit correct. TNLNSL. TFTCC!
Found easily once we found the entrance to the reserve. A false start saw us get a bit scratched up by some gorse. I have no idea why anyone would want to get *romantic* in this part of the woods???
Found nice and easy on a beautiful Wellytown day. The stream is nothing short of a disgrace. We enjoyed the cheeky pukeko hiding nearby (he looked so comical as his head popped up to check us out).

After a false start with the posts and roman numerals (glad we live close by!) we were underway. Loved the graveyard. Drive past this all the time and never once noticed. Thanks for showing us more of our backyard.
I can see where the inspiration came for the various way points Final took a little while and I must have looked there a handful of times before blondie took charge and revealed the very tricky hide - actually blondie found ALL of the way points so clearly I lack practice! T=N, L=Santa. Thanks for an enjoyable first cache for 2007 on a very hot Wellytown day!

We had to have a crack at this one given we'd done the original ages back. We didn't use the GPS this time, just admired the roses and found the cache easily. Beautiful spot as always. TFTC!
Found easily. Preferred the location of the first hide (it was pedantic of the reviewer to have this archived).
03-Jan-08
We've replaced the cache with a new container which should mean it won't be muggled as easily as before. Fingers crossed!
Time to disable this one. We just can't find time to get back and sort it out. Its a great spot so maybe someone will take up the challenge!
10-Oct-07
Due to the type of area, we thought another cache will probably go missing as well, so have decided to archive.

What a fabulous way to spend an afternoon that was otherwise dull and gloomy in Wellington - out here on the coast, was sunny and hot! Beautiful walk along the rugged coastline with Matt, Frank, David, Jacod, Phyllida, Jase, Michelle, Charlote and I. I didn't get to the cache myself - piked around 20 metres below and slid back down the skree ***weeeeeee*** I don't have much of a head or heights so passed the geocoain onto Matt to do the deed. Regardless an awesome caching experience - well done!!!
24-Aug-07
Stopped by on my way to work to grab the TB, unfortunately it wasn't there, so can only assume that someone else has taken it and not logged it yet.
16-Aug-07
Just disabling until we have the opportunity to go and check it's location.
04-Jun-07
Out and about with some new Geocachers - Grabbed Sinusitis Geocoin on our travels.
22-Apr-07
Replaced # 3 due to it getting wet. Water shouldn't effect this anymore.
Dropped by to replace log. As usual, lots of muggles - grand central station!
08-Apr-07
Took a while to find the "device" due to lots of muggles but once we found it, it was as we had expected so only took a few moments to extract the cache. Once again a very clever cache by OB - well done! Found on a perfect Autumn afternoon. TFTC!
11-Mar-07
We've been wanting to do this one since last summer and FINALLY we are here! What an amazing day - we had a good clear view to the South Island. Even saw some lazy seals sunnying themselves. Nice walk up to the lighthouse - quite a lot of muggle action in the area today, which is understandable with the day we were treated too!
Took nothing, Left - Myntis..

We drive past this place so regularly, but didn't realise it's historic value! What a great place for a cache. Nice easy find on a beautiful Wairarapa day!

Decided we should do this, considering it was a lovely day. Unfortunately our GPS ran out of batteries about 288 metres to the GZ....we managed to find it with out a lot of trouble!
Great walk with lots of people and their dogs out and about...cute park..

Decided to disable this cache until we got an opportunity to put in a replacement and to make sure that all works in the area have been completed.
12-Feb-07
Just to let you know that we'll pop up there in the next few days and check the cache is still there. Due to some of the work been done, it may have been disrupted.

Have been wanting to do this one for sometime now and today was the day. Nice little place, we haven't been there before.
Note that there are only 3 more spaces on the log sheet before it's full!

Well, we weren't the FTF, but we figured on a glorious Wellington day, that we'd be hard pressed to be the first in! Great spot, very cunning!

After a long debate, we've decided that this park has too many unusual characters loitering around, so we've decided to archive this cache.

Finally got back with Blondie to find and log the cache proper. View as good as always. Cache much easier to find this time - has been moved back to the original spot. TNLNSL. TFTC!

Bung data? If you're referring to the fact that a page incorrectly pointed to "Rusty Wreak", you forget that "Rusty Wreak" was originally one of the pieces in the puzzle.
If you're referring to loosing accuracy when dropping the least significant digit and STILL finding it, that's easy enough to explain:
The co-ords I calculated worked out not too much south of "Lifes a Beach". By continuing to walk south west from here to add back in the LSD, I hoped to eventually find a location using "cachers intuition" (ie, where would _I_ hide something). When I came across a small trig (you can see this to the north from above the cache site), and the view from it, I really thought I was onto something. Of course I found nothing and little opportunity to hide anything in this area so continued to project a likely spot south west of here. I could see a spot I'd visited earlier in the day trying to find a way to the calculated GZ without walking around from "Lifes a Beach". What I found were grassy banks leading down into native regrowth. I simply explored each "track" in turn, hoping to once again use cachers intuition. Knowing Tony's style a little bit helped too - I felt certain he'd pick a good spot rather than some random gorse bush. Anyway, on the third track I found nothing obvious until I climbed back up to notice it steering back out at me from a crack in some old concrete.
You find a few dozen caches and you start to recognise signs. And remember I did the calculation (I spent a couple of hours researching it and writing some code - Lotus @Formula language) so we were always going to get to the general area - the rest was simply deduction and determination - I think we did this on my birthday so I was extremely determined to not let it beat me. I also know the area pretty well - I've flown model gliders off the sea cliffs for years and have spent quite a bit of time exploring whilst searching for downed planes, waiting for better weather etc. I found the spot for "Rusty Wreak" this way.
Lastly - Late last year I sat down with Dad to recalculate this one using Autocad - just incase someone out there is a CAD junkie like he is, its actually quite easy (apparently!
** Edit - nope, wasn't my birthday but was close and we were on the hunt for #100!

[Walked to the site this evening to get some photos of Comet McNaught. We live just 161 metres from the cache! Beautiful views and was nice to share the experience with some friendly locals. Will upload a couple of photos.
Too dark to find the cache as we didn't have a torch and the light from my PDA screen wasn't bright enough to show us the way.] The cache would seem to have been moved further into the flax as I acually found the cache the day it was published to attempt a FTF and its no longer in that spot. Given it had already been found, I decided I'd leave a proper log for when I revisit with Blondie. Visited again on the 22nd but the northerly gale made searching the flax difficult to we gave up.

Another glorious find....great little location, again, one that we haven't been to before, so decided it was a good spot to stop and have some lunch before the hunt! Some fabulous bird life out and about today. Took - Marge Simpson Pez dispenser, Left - can't remember, but we did definitely trade!

We encountered some friendly muggles on the way to and from the cache. So much so, we had to dive in there quickly before they arrived and retrieve it, or else we could've been waiting for hours!! Great location, been meaning to go there several times, but today was the day - wasn't it a great one as well!

This was a second attempt at this cache. Baldie didn't manage to get it the first time....Great view, pleased that we got up there and completed it this time. Left a pencil sharpener, as cache needed one and took dino.

Last cache of the day...rain was getting annoying. We knew what this was before reaching it (great name!). Took Geocoin, left nil. TFTC!
We used to live just down the road so the area was not new to us although the changes since we've moved away were startling. Our brains are clearly on holiday as we don't get the name reference? TFTC!
First cache for 2007! Nice little spot that we never knew existed. Left Compass Carabiner, took nothing. Thanks for bringing us to yet another unknown spot!

Dropped by with new cache and contents. Hopefully this new container will not leak like the last one! Unfortunately the logbook was too damp to leave in the new cache so we replaced this also.

Excellent idea! So long as we've finished unpacking into our new house (yay!) we'll be there!

Interesting spot. Found the cache nice and quickly and then went on to the reserve and watched the fishing and boats carefully navigating the Kaituna bar. Thanks for bringing us to this great spot. Yes, interesting house alright!
No problems with the first part of this cache as the GPS was pointing directly to it. Sadly no luck in finding the final. Disappointing that there is no clue for the cache as it relies on spot on GPS reception which might not always be the case. We searched in all the obvious spots and found nothing. Suggest that a larger container be placed if possible - this beautiful spot deserves more than a 35mm film canister. Thanks for bringing us here.
