Logs for kcs4gc

29-Dec-12
It was great to attend our first event and to finally meet some fellow geocachers. Thanks to Gonefishin07 and pprass for organising!

27-Dec-12
All three of us will be there. Looking forward to it, as we've never met any other cachers on our travels!

12-Dec-12
Got to GZ and weren't quite sure where to look reading the clue set us in the right direction.
Great hide - haven't seen this sort of cache construction before!

A lovely park on a hot day with not a soul around. As we got close to GZ, K spotted the cache lying open on the ground at the base of a tree with it's contents scattered everywhere. Luckily nothing seemed to be missing.

Logged our visit, then put contents back in place and tried to find the likely original hiding spot. We ended up putting it in a location that seemed to be correct, but it may not be. So if you find yourself at the listed coords with no cache, just widen your search a little and you should soon be rewarded.

Nice cammo on the container!! TFTC

Lovely little park tucked away in Ringwood East. Find was very quick and cache was soon in hand.

Please note, Hypnotica (2 logs before this one) wrote in the log book that they took the TB, but they haven't yet logged this. The Happy Birthday TB is no longer in the cache.

Sorry Quasar, but when putting the lid back on the container split. Not sure if it was already like this but we think we made it worse. It's probably not very waterproof any more. We didn't have any duct tape to fix it. You or following cachers may need to conduct some repairs.

We remember Jacimarble publishing this series, but this was the first that we had attempted. Got to GZ and K very quickly spotted the hide. Log was soon signed.

This is a very busy road so some stealth is definitely required.

Once you know it's there, your eye is drawn to it and it is very obvious! TFTC

*FTF* at 8:30pm (sorry, wrote 8:40pm in logbook to find that was the wrong time!) - Our first one!!!!

We were happily sitting watching X-Factor when the phone started dinging, and to our surprise this new cache was less than 1km from home. C Got organised and headed out the door as quick as he could. Made way to the reserve and found no-one around. Good sign, he thought. Very quickly had the booty in hand and thankfully the log sheet was empty.

In went the name KCS4GC in the FTF row for the first time ever! Yay!!!!

STF - Our best effort so far!!!
Got the notification and decided to try for it as soon as we could. Even though we weren't too far away it was over an hour before we arrived, so it was no surprise we had been beaten to it by the locals. Oh well, still waiting for one to be published very close by.
Nice easy find in a spot you wouldn't know was there.

13-Jun-12
Very quick find this time. A third of the series down!!

12-Jun-12
We frequent this place a lot, and were thrilled to see there is a cache located here. After waiting for the muggle population to reduce after Easter, we found this one easily with hardly anyone around. Dropped of hummingbird TB that we've had for too long, and picked up Andy's Keys TB. TFTC, and a Fav point!

Great spot to wait for the bus. Couldn't believe how tiny this cache is (easily the smallest we've seen)!! We had trouble writing our name small enough! TFTC and a Fav point

Love the sculpture. We were trying to work out how we were going to find a cache in someone's private yard when we worked out where it actually was. Nice hide! TFTC

Quick find on second attemt. The house opposite always seems to be full of cars and people hanging around on the front balcony! TFTC

Starting from this end after struggling with the other. Found quickly and were soon on our way again.

Nice hide this one. Didn't take too long to find it though, and were on our way to #5.

Found this one after a little search. On to # 6!

Found this one quickly, and had just signed the log and returned it to it's position when the local school bus arrived and dropped off some young muggles. Great timing!!

Felt very exposed getting this one, but had it in hand very quickly. Like the previous cacher, we found the log had no clue on it. It was also soaking wet, so added a dry sheet of paper to the container. Hope this letter isn't critical.

Nice quick find of an interesting hide. We're enjoying this series. TFTC!

11-Jun-12
Found this one on our third attempt. This time it appeared some work had been done to the garden, and the cache was clearly visible from the path. Covered it with a small amount of cammo when replaced, but not sure how long that will stay there.

Visited one of our favourite caches again to drop off a large TB that we've been holding onto for way too long now. Unfortunately it's full of water, so our Geoduck will stay with us for a little longer.

YAY - Our 100th cache. Found nice and easily, and very appropriate for the location. Fav point awarded due to both the cache and the milestone. Thanks hell+back!!

10-Jun-12
We've been waiting to attempt this one for quite a while, and with S asleep with the Grandparents we had our opportunity. Arrived at GZ at 7:30pm only to find a number of muggles arriving/departing the nearby establishment. Finally found a gap, and very quickly had the cache in hand. Just got it back when muggles appeared again. So many people at The Island this weekend! Fav point awarded - TFTC

31-May-12
Nice easy find in the "dark" at 8pm. No room to sign the log though - note to following cachers: please bring your own log/paper.

29-May-12
First of two caches found without the GPSr (Google Maps is your friend!!). Lovely little piece of nature. It didn't take too long to have the cache in hand. There were no muggles about at 4:50pm. TFTC

Second of 2 caches found today with no GPSr (Google Maps is your friend!!). This is a great spot for a cache - there is almost zero chance of being disturbed by muggles. It seems from previous logs that the GPS would only have been a distraction anyway. Found the cache very quickly just by using a bit of caching brain. TFTC

28-May-12
Found fairly quickly with a little help from previous logs. Really nice hide! TFTC

27-May-12
Found easily enough even thought the GPSr was a little bit off. Secluded little part of this reserve. Took Hummingbird TB for first journey!! TFTC

Found quite easily, but had to walk in circles for a bit when returning it as some junior muggles were kicking a ball in that exact position!!

26-May-12
Found nice and easily in this lovely little park we didn't know about, even though it is only a couple of kms from where K used to live. Dropped in a TB that we've had for too long! TFTC

Found on third attempt at K's old local council buildings after approaching from the wrong car park the first time, then having nosey muggles hanging around the second. Found easily this time, and log was soon filled in.
Congrats to BernieH on the FTF. TFTC

24-May-12
Found after a bit of a search. Had worked out the answer beforehand and arrived here at 8:30pm.

Nice quick find at 9:30pm. Co-ordinates were spot on.

20-May-12
Found after a short search. Log was very hard to replace in container, so next cacher may need a tool to remove it! Would not have noticed this memorial if not for this cache.

Quick find. Replaced snap-lock bag for log as it was in tatters. Closing time is not the best time for this cache, as we had to time putting the cache back between workers coming out to take display items inside. TFTC Whitepaws9

19-May-12
Took a little while to find as we approached from the wrong angle. Great little spot for a cache, and a lot of effort put into the construction!! TNLN, and discovered a few TBs.

15-May-12
Found this one quite quickly despite it being a very clever hide. It was a rather wet day, so there weren't too many muggles around to disturb us.
This our second GJMMelb cache find in two days, and the second fav point!! Well done guys!

6 down, 6 to go. This was the last of 5 of this series we found in 1 hour. This was a lovely little park, but the view is mostly blocked out. Nice quick find and we were soon on our way home! TFTC

After having solved the puzzle at home, found this one in about 30 seconds flat (with the help of the clue), and then proceeded to spend 20 minutes searching for the GPSr which C had dropped while returning to the car. TFTC

5 down, 7 to go. This was a nice easy find on a wet afternoon. Not sure that it is a 3 difficulty?! We were lucky to pick the best direction to approach from. This was one of 5 of this series we found in 1 hour!

4 down, 8 to go. Had to contend with a little muggle trouble as Puffing Billy had just pulled in. Cache was quickly found and we were on our way, but not before S said "Broom Broom Train", and we promised we would take her on it when she is older! This was one of 5 of this series that we found in 1 hour!

3 down, 9 to go. This was a nice quick found, although agree that the works are a danger to the cache. It is lucky it wasn't buried in all the dirt. It may need relocation soon. This was one of 5 of this series we found in 1 hour!

Disappointed to log the first DNF on this one. Returned for a second time, and with no-one around spent a long time searching. Tried the only thing that the clue seemed to refer to, but nothing to be seen. We obviously haven't got our caching eyes tuned today.

2 down, only 10 to go!! This was a very quick and easy find - obviously we approached from the right direction! This was one of 5 of this series we found in 1 hour!

14-May-12
Didn't have the GPSr with us today, but had determined the approximate location previously when there were too many people around. Had a quick look around, and knowing it wasn't a traditional container soon found something a little out of the ordinary.
The cache was a piece of art, and must have taken a while to prepare. It was also very dry, and had plenty of room for swaps. We commend GJMMelb on this one, and we have to award another favourite point.

13-May-12
Nice easy find on Mother's Day. All three of us searched and soon came up with the goods.
Dropped in Missed The Start TB, who's in a race, so come and get him moving again!!
There was no sign of the Olympic Bear TB.

06-May-12
This was the last cache of 4 in Glenfern Valley Reserve. After a bit of a bush bash through long wet grass, the GPSr was out and had us looking in the wrong place. A quick check of the clue got us sorted out and the cache was soon in hand.
Dropped in Sparky TB. TFTC

Thought we had the right location with GPSr reading 0, but no cache to be found.
However, on reading older logs it seems we may have been looking in the wrong place. Will try again another time.

Found this one very quickly as it was out in the open, visible from long way away, and was not closed properly. Contents were soaked from recent rain. Couldn't use the log, so placed a new sheet of paper in plastic bag as temporary log.
Nice little park in the middle of Scoresby!
