18-Jan-21
Hi everyone, I'm the assistant-owner of this cache.

I will be walking this cache tomorrow, Tuesday the 19th of January, starting at 6pm, at the carpark.

I have all the correct answers. If anyone wants to walk it with me, we can work out together what's wrong with it.

13-Sep-16
Spent a long weekend here in your wonderful town. At 8am there are no muggles

03-Jul-15
I recently got my first motorbike. And now, less than 3 months later, I have decided that I know the basics, which means: TIME FOR A ROAD TRIP!!

Left Auckland on Wednesday night, straight after work, and made my way to Dargaville in the dark. Yesterday, I made my way up the beautiful rural west coast of the far north, enjoying the impressive sight of the Hokianga harbour as I came over the hill, and, well, too much to name.

Stayed at Pukenui, got a big fat belly at the local eatery, and stayed the night.

Got up early this morning, packed up, and came here, to admire the maelstrom, and plant a metaphorical flag at the northernmost point of my journey.

Heading off to Paihia tonight, to sleep listening to the waters of the Bay of Islands lapping on the beach.

Though I don't know it yet, tomorrow will bring torrential rain, and I will find out that my wet weather gear, which is great for keeping rain out, if not kept pulled tight, will also keep the rain in. I will arrive in Whangarei soaking wet; Sunday morning will be sunny again, for the last leg of the journey, back to Auckland.

01-Jun-14
Out for a walk in the park, and geocache, with Liempdma. Fantastic view here, worth the visit. Stopped here to have lunch and wait for the muggles to finish theirs. Easy find.

31-May-14
[A friend took me caching, it's been too long... walked from the wave pool, to this lovely park., funny to see the picture at the top of the cache notes, and compare it to the current version. Like many, we used magnetic north at first. Once we had that sorted out, it still lead us somewhere obvious, but wrong. Went round and round the target, then spotted] a rectangle[, and it was soon in our hands. TFTC!]

21-Apr-14
Having finished Duders park, Liempdma and I refueled at a Maraetai cafe, and found we still had time left. Nice easy one here, right next to the carpark. A little confused about the clue, until we moved sideways, and it all made sense.

Great place for tramping, fantastic views on a glorious sunny day. Got beaten to the find by Liempdma. On to the next one!

[Out walking this fantastic regional park with liempdma. Led astray by my GPS and] the cache name [so got beaten to the punch. Lots of wasps around]

Last cache of the day. I did this short loop track not so long ago, not realizing this cache was here. Easy find, beautiful day.

03-Nov-13
I will check it out.

04-May-13
When nine hundred years you are, rain worried about you will not be, hmmm?

28-Apr-13
Hi everyone.

Sorry, the final for this (including the guardian!) have escaped... I will sort out a new one when I can.

17-Feb-13
FTF, great company, and a good meal

14-Feb-13
See you there, Dame und Herr

01-Jan-13
First cache of the new year (which I nearly forgot to log).

Was out of town (Auckland, but I have redeeming qualities) for New Year, spending it with my daughter and my nearly-son-in-law. I'm an early riser, so I thought I'd wonder off and grab a cache in the morning.

The world was very quiet on this New years morning. Easy find, signed logbook.

25-Nov-12
I have lots of exciting adventures to tell, but unfortunately, most of them would give clues as to where the cache is.

Thanks for an awesome adventure.

19-Nov-12
After-work cache - offramp was completely clogged at Papakura with the roadworks going on. Got to the parking lot, took a wrong turn early on (misjudged distance to cache), and was passed by a nice family going for a stroll in the park. They sat down within a stones throw of the cache, and so I held back... and waited... and waited.... but they weren't budging. Spotted the cache, but was unable to retrieve it with the family thinking it odd....

eventually went back to my car, to search for a pen, as I realised I didn't have one. No pens in my car, but as I was searching the family wondered back to their car, and I was able to go out, and finally claim the cache. Very glad there was a working pen in the cache Smile

20-Oct-12
Gps said it was somewhere in a 50 meter radius. Went around and around, but tended to end up in the same general spot, until finally I had it in hand.

12-Oct-12
Arrived here, based on a point on the map. When I read the notes and realized what was required, I decided to skip this one.

did this in the evening, about when people come home from work - felt very self-conscious about searching here, especially when one of the neighbours arrived home. Didn't stop to ask me what I was doing, and I was well clear of GZ.

Was a little disappointed that noone was gliding, it would have been cool to have a look. Found the cache without too much trouble.

Felt very self-conscious hunting around here, nowhere to hide if one of the owners turned up. Especially at coming-home time. Found it without too much problems.

30-Jun-12
Second cache, first find for the day. After finding the cache, enjoyed watching [the stream] a while.

Easy find, dispite the large amount of traffic passing by.

Made a few passes trying to figure out where the best place to park, then found it quickly.

Thanks for bringing me here.

This is half-way between "Found" and "Didn't Find".

I'm almost certain that I spotted it, but when I turned around, the local muggles were peering through their curtains... I nonchelantly kept walking, in case they went away, but they didn't. I had to abandon my mission. Hopefully an easy one next time.

29-Jun-12
I have just confirmed that the cache is AWOL. I have decided that rather than replace it, I will place a new cache, some time soon.

26-Jun-12
Quick cache run after work, failing light, but very nice. It seemed to be about half tide. Thanks for bringing me here.

24-Jun-12
Wonderfull park, when I saw there were a couple of caches here for me, I knew it would be worth the trip. Some ducks were guarding the cache.

Got caught by a rainstorm and sheltered in a shed on the way to this one - a minute later, one of the rangers turned up to shelter too. We had a nice chat, waiting for the rain to stop, and she knew about caching. I explained some of the ins and outs, then the weather cleared - well, the sky anyway. This is when I found out my shoes were no longer waterproof.

Went down the path I thought to be the cache, took an even longer detour (I wont say which way I went; I won't deny you the same privilige Smile ). The garden was so-so, but the views were spectacular!

On my way back, was almost at the car when the rain started again.

Thanks for bringing me to this spectacular place!

23-Jun-12
As I approached this cache, I realised I'd tried this one before many years ago (though I appear not to have logged a DNF [:|]) - or was it another cache at this location?

In any cache, soon had this one in hand. Was on the way to the open day of Tangleball, the makerspace. Lovely park, well worth the visit!

By the way, the proper noun mentioned in the clue is no longer visible. I know where it used to be, so it helped me anyway, but future cachers may be baffled by this clue.

22-Jun-12
Great caching up with everyone again.

20-Jun-12
Was a little worried, as the educational facility was in use, but found it quickly enough. Thanks for the cache.

19-Jun-12
Was here yesterday, but the trucks were going in and out, so I had to leave it in the end. Back today, big fat Smile found it easy enough.

18-Jun-12
Found GL telegraphed from a mile away, by a tag left by Zork, regarding a non-groundspeak product. Took all of the fun away. Very disappointed.

Perhaps people playing other games might find other locations?

01-Jun-12
Wonderful walk at lunchtime. Searched within a meter of the hiding place, then had to use the clue.

Stopped by, but a couple was having a picnic right at GZ

30-May-12
Confirmed - at high tide, the difficulty should be 2-3.

Found easily at low tide.

28-May-12
Did not find - I wonder if this is because it's full tide? I searched from 10 minutes before high tide, to 10 minutes after, without luck.

By the way, directions like "left" and "right" aren't very usefull, unless you know which way to face - "east" or "west" is much more usefull.

Very nice area, will be back to claim the cache when the tide is lower!

27-May-12
A year and a half after me last attempt, and I can finally tick this one off. It's moved quite a distance Smile

26-May-12
That is one awesome tree.

25-May-12
Had a hunt round, but couldn't find it.

Started on the wrong side of the river.

Really enjoyed winding my way through this park, learning about it's history.

23-May-12
Took a detour here after work. Lots of birds on & above the mudflats. Easy find.

22-May-12
Very serene, late afternoon. Lovely spot. Thanks for bringing me here.

21-May-12
Grabbed at lunchtime.

A couple of muggles thought this was a nice area as well, and I had to wait until they were gone. The horses were grazing nearby.

20-May-12
If there are two ways to get to a cache on a wet day, I allways seem to pick the long muddy one Smile

Thanks for bringing me here, and getting me off my couch.

Early morning cache. Had just arrived, and was reading the memorial, when a large group of men walked down the drive.. decided that today was not the right day for this cache.

Had some trouble with some dog-owning muggles, who met and decided to stop and have a chat nearby. Had to walk past, and all the way out the other side of the park before they'd move on... easy enough find (with the hint)

19-May-12
Very restful place. Spent some time after wandering up and down (respectfully) looking at the muggles.
