I am planning on being there ... not sure what travel plans I have around that time (there is a Block Party in Sydney, not long before this, and a lot of other things likely to happen in a lot of different places) - but if I am in Canberra, I will come along
19-Nov-24
I intend to attend Wow - what an adventure, what an achievement ... not sure I will ever get to all those places, but I want to!

Another one on the long list of caches that the huge group of us paddled to, on a nice warm and Sunny Saturday 9th November. I am one of the many who drove here from Canberra, and I am glad I did I, too, did not find this cache - and I had quite a good, long, look (as did quite a few others).Oh well - we had to have one dnf, I guess ... else the day would have been too perfect?Photo not at GZ ... probably within a few kilometres though - lol ... someone who was also enjoying a nice sunny day along the river
17-Nov-24
I looked on, under and around everything, but found nothing ... either it is missing, or I am in the wrong state of mind for looking for this one today ... pity, because it is a great spot to hide a cache in ...
14-Nov-24
I will have my parents visiting, but I should be able to sneak out to this event Also, I should be able to bring something in the way of food/snacks, and possibly some tinsel to hang up, if I can remember where I put it - lol

08-Nov-24
According to my phone app, I am parked 3m from GZ ... so even if I sleep in, I will be here - lolIf I am not awake/up and about when the event starts, or earlier if you are here, feel free to knock on the window and wake me up - lol
07-Nov-24
I intend to attend - sounds fun ... and I don't mind if my onions are under or over the sausage - lol
06-Nov-24
I came out this way for a muggle event, that involved a Nature Therapy walk a few km away, then a Felting Workshop at Wildbark ... had to walk close by a few caches on the walk, but wasn't any spare time to wander off and find any of them (good excuse to go back there later )... so - I decided to come and find one around here, after the workshop finished ... so here I am TFTC - good to see that the tree wasn't cut down, but it (the whole tree, and the trunk/scars) seems to have deteriorated somewhat, not sure if that has been recent, or was a bit longer ago ... but happily it is still alive, and appears to be doing OK considering its age, history, and whatever else it has been through to lose most of its branches ... to me, it kind of has a message ... so much of it has been taken away/lost, but it still lives and grows ... and is still a tree, has usefulness (for birds nests/perching, insect food/homes, shade, aesthetic value/photo subject, education, etc, etc), and the top of it even looks like an entire small tree perched upon the branch it is growing from - a testament to the resilience of Nature ... as long as we actually give it a chance ... pity some ignorant, lazy, a***hole has dumped a pile of old fridges on the Nature strip in front of it ... one wonders what so.e people actually have between their ears - definitely not brains ... sigh
Sorry - I wasn't able to make it to this one in time - Due to a last minute cancellation, I managed to snag a spot on a free nature walk and felting workshop, this morning, and there wasn't time, after the workshop finished, to drive in to Civic, and park (or drive to somewhere I could park and catch a bus), and walk to the event ... If I had tried, I would probably have arrived well after 1pm ... sigh ...Photo: It felt good at the time?- I ended up making a nice felted picture that I can hang on my wall, or whatever

If I can make it up here for the kayaking, then I will definitely enjoy a beer and some food, and the other sort of yacking that I also like to do
I am a definite maybe ... have kayak, planning on paddling, but I will have to juggle/cancel a couple of other things in my diary, and organise myself enough to make it there, from here in Canberra
I am planning on heading up here for the paddling the next morning, and hopefully I can make it this far in time for this event as well ... as long as I can juggle things so I am somewhere with phone reception for a phone meeting in the early afternoon, and organise myself enough to be able to go away for a weekend when I have too many things making me too busy
31-Oct-24
I had a purrfectly good time at this event ... yes, I was the crazy person who came dressed up as a black cat ... I got a few interesting looks from some of the muggles - lolTFTC - I enjoyed the usual CATching up, lapped up a beer, and my chunk of cow, and some prawns, then ducked in to use the litter tray as I left - to slink off with the group of us who headed out on a wonderful adventure into the bush, a fun hunt that took us along a gully, then for a good explore in a drain (where some feline agility came in handy) topped off nicely with a tree to climb ... after all that excitement, it might be time for a nice cat nap now

I am here a few minutes early ... not late, for once ... lol... and what a lovely day!
20-Oct-24
On way home from CQ retreat #2Seems I wasn't first person here today [signed right below Sacada - lol]
17-Oct-24
I intend to attend ... even though I live in Canberra, I would be mad not to come up for this - my parents live in Caloundra Just the @1@ of me coming to the event.
15-Oct-24
12-Oct-24
I forgot to make a speech and pass on an important bit of information - everyone who attended this event is welcome to claim First To Find ... so then you all get a hattrick (3 first to finds in a row/on the same day/at the same place)... except I don't get any ... unless I can be cheeky and claim First To Find on my own event (I was the first to arrive - lol)
11-Oct-24
I might even bring my kayak - so I can do the 2 ALs and go get the bonus caches for them (Not sure if I will be able to get there a bit early and do the ALs before the event, or if I will do them after the rubbish collecting is done)
10-Oct-24
Just figured I would mention the reason this area had so little rubbish - after I collected a few bits of rubbish around GZ, I got talking to a friendly local who came wandering nearby and pulled up some weeds across the road - he told me he had walked around the area and collected several bags of rubbish earlier in the week (the usual fast food wrappers and drink containers, and tin cans, etc, left by some of the people fishing around the lake) - and that he and his wife had been cleaning up rubbish and weeding the area for the few years they had lived there, with very little help from any of the other residents. Apparently the garden beds were waist high in weeds when he started, and he took several trailer loads of weeds to the green waste tip.
Well, the listed date for this event still says 9/10/24 - I checked that before I came down here - and I was here on time (a few minutes early, actually) and I am still the only one here. I must have missed the email announcement, but, knowing that it is possible to change the date on an event listing, and that the CO had come back from the beach early - I figured I was going to be in the right place at the right time ...I have picked up some rubbish, pulled up a few yucky weeds (the perfect time to avoid the ones I pulled up from flowering/going to seed) and am enjoying the warm sunshine and slight breeze.Hmmm ... *has a think* ... I am here at the listed time, on the listed date ... and nobody else is here (apart from a few dog walking muggles passing by) so ... methinks, surely that must qualify as a *FTF* ?(But I am happy to share it with those who come here tomorrow
09-Oct-24
The date still says the 9th, and I am down here ... but now wondering is it today or tomorrow?! ... if it is tomorrow, I possibly won't be here ..

06-Oct-24
Yes, I attended my own event, and I enjoyed having it ... weather was OK, just a bit breezy ... but that is better than an inch or 2 deep hail mixed with pouring rain, or Antarctic Winter cold Thanks to those who came ... a nice small group of us ... not surprising seeing a lot of people were out of town for longer trips, and probably a few more were away, or busy, for the long weekend ...
03-Oct-24
I was planning to come to this ... until the date changed ...(I will be away at a quilting Retreat all weekend - which reminds me that need to do a pre poll vote - so I figured I will remind any of you reading this - don't forget to go have your democracy sausage before or after your Geocaching banana
02-Oct-24
Wandered over from the nearby CITO, with a small group. Watched a cyclist being swooped by a magpie, but we all managed to not attract its attention TFTC - Nice quick find, in an interesting open area

Another great CC event (at a not so great venue - but not complaining, as it is indoors, out of the cold, so worth putting up with the noise).TFTE - good to catch up with people, chat, test solve a couple of block party AL gadgets, and not only a smiley, but can also claim the group *FTF*
