Logs for Efa^

18-Nov-14
Thanks everybody for coming! Archiving this event now.

31-Oct-14
We spotted englandshire logging the cache, so it was an easy job for us to find and log the cache. We thought we'd introduce ourselves if we'd bump into each other at some of the other caches of the island, but sadly this ended up being the only find of the day for us, because I decided to do a bit of stumbling and sprained my ankle about five minutes after we had logged this cache... Luckily this was our last day in New Zealand, so we only missed the climb up. This only means we have to come back to NZ one day! Very Happy

30-Oct-14
We decided to celebrate ZeroOne's birthday by going on an island cruise. Tiritiri was cancelled for the day so we opted for Rotoroa. The island was very nice and it was cool to log the one and only cache of the island. TFTC!

28-Oct-14
The weather forecast promised rain for the entire day, so we decided to make it a museum day. This one we looked for before going in. TFTC!

Very cool place! Reminded me though more of Davy Jones than Capt'n Morgan with all the "tentacles". Razz TFTC!

This was a quick find as the container was partly visible. TFTC!

We happened to spot this cache on the map as we were planning our walk to the museum. We remembered that there had been some talk of this cache at our event, so naturally we wanted to take a look at the puzzle. With seamless teamwork it didn't take longer than 15 minutes to extract the coordinates after we got the right idea. At GZ we looked around for a bit, but soon enough we found the good-sized container. Thanks for the puzzle, kiwicouple, it was a lot of fun!

We had spent most of the day in the Auckland museum and wandered back to city via Parnell Road. This was a nice finish to our night. And yes, I can see the resemblance. Very Happy
TFTC!

Thanks for the appropriately themed quiz, it was very informative. Very Happy We had just visited the museum and of course we then had to go look for this cache. I believe this was the first mystery cache on our three-week trip! TFTC!

27-Oct-14
What a nice view! This was a super quick find, but we stayed at GZ for a little while to take a couple of photos and just to enjoy the view. TFTC!

Labour Day's last find. This looked like it could take some time, but somehow ZeroOne had the cache in his hands in just minutes! TFTC!

Labour Day's find #1. We intended to go on one of those whale watching cruises, but the winds were too strong. So we ended up going shopping and then walking along the harbour and of course finding a bunch of caches. So not a bad day after all! Smile TFTC!

This was a nice little cache and as tourists from the other side of the world we were excited to see cricket players in the nearby field. TFTC!

26-Oct-14
Found this on our first whole day in Auckland. ZeroOne and I arranged a little event nearby and after the event we came to look for this one and then continued our way to Mt. Eden. TFTF!

This was our second find of the SSTS series. Since we were here only for a week, we knew we would not have time for all of these, so we didn't take note of the hints either. However, we ended up finding all together three SSTS caches. Smile TFTC!

Found this after our event at Albert Park. TFTC!

This was a nice and pretty easy find on our way to Mt. Eden. Our 6th find of the day!
TFTC!

Being a tourist makes it at times easier to look for caches. Silly foreigners want to take photos of silly things and in silly places... Wink TFTC!

Thank you all so much for coming to our little event and sharing your stories and suggestions! We had a blast in New Zealand, even though the weather was quite rainy and chilly. We found quite a few caches and we're still in the slooow process of logging them online... Smile But there's still so much more to discover in NZ, that we most definitely are coming back some day!

ZeroOne and I walked here from Albert Park (via nine caches and a nice lunch at cafe 23). The views were spectacular, but the wind was pretty chilly. Thanks for the straight-forward earthcache!

There was a band practice of some sort going on... Jingle Bells was one of the songs being rehearsed. Very Happy Anyway, I played once again the part of the photo taking tourist while ZeroOne logged the cache behind me. TFTC!

This was our eleventh and last find of the day. Thanks for sharing the interesting story and making our way back from Mt. Eden more interesting. Smile TFTC!

I have a thing for cemeteries, so naturally when I spotted this one on our way to Mt. Eden, I made sure our route went through this place. A very interesting place, so thanks for taking us here!

We were on our way to Mt. Eden and this seemed simple enough so we gave it a go. This was actually a very quick find, but it took some time for us to return the container to its hide, as there was a very persistent muggle nearby. TFTC!

25-Oct-14
Our very first find in New Zealand! We had only arrived that evening and we decided to go on short stroll to look around and naturally look for the cache of the day. Smile It was already dark outside and hardly any muggles in sight, so we were able to look for the container in peace. Thanks for the cache!

24-Oct-14
We had a great day walking along the Prince Henry Cliff Walk from the Three Sisters to this cache, and one of us had to overcome her fear of heights quite a few times along the way. Very Happy ZeroOne spotted the container, but we had to wait a while for the muggles, who had just arrived on the Skyway car. TFTC!

Yay, our first find in Katoomba! We had some great lunch at Cafe Fresh and were starting our walk towards the Three Sisters, but naturally we had to grab this on our way. TFTC!

We had heard so many recommendations that we decided to visit the Blue Mountains on our last day in Sydney before flying to New Zealand to continue our honeymoon. Man was it worth it! This place is truly special! We had such a great time walking the Prince Henry Cliff Walk. We had to wait for some muggles before we were able to retrieve the cache, but other than that, this was a nice and easy find. Thanks!

This was our last find in Katoomba and also in Australia... for now! ZeroOne spotted this one as well and we were hoping to buy some ice creams from the Kiosk, but sadly it had already closed. So we just headed back to the town centre and then back to Sydney. TFTC!

We found this on our way from the train station to the Three Sisters. ZeroOne grabbed the container while I made sure no muggles were in sight. What a gorgeous place this was! Greetings from Finland and TFTC!

23-Oct-14
What an interesting place! Thanks for sharing the history of the place. We had a nice walk from Bondi to Tamarama and back, and this was surprisingly the only find of the day. TFTC!

22-Oct-14
This was very cool, could even be my favourite of our Sydney finds. Definatelly worth a FP. TFTC!

21-Oct-14
This was a very easy find, as Mr MR headed straight to GZ and came back with the logbook ready to be signed. TFTC!

This was easy enough, when there were two of us. A little bit of shufflling around, pretending to take soe photos and other touristy stuff and the container was retrieved, logbook signed and container returned to its hide. From here we headed to our event in Hyde Park. TFTC!

Thanks on my behalf as well! It was nice to meet you all and hear about the local caching culture and about the best caches around. We actually went to look for one of them the same evening (Safe City). Smile Also, Blue Mountains turned out to be a wonderful experience, and we also found a bunch of caches there!

These kind of caches are a lot of fun. It was nice to escape the chilly weather for a while as well. Smile TFTC!

We had just found WP1 and were about to insert the new coordinates to our GPS, when we saw Mr MR and YGAT and they tipped us off about the final point. So no need for the coordinates this time, as the hide was very obvious. Quite a few muggles around, but with me blocking the view, ZeroOne was able to retrieve the container quite easily. TFTC!

20-Oct-14
ZeroOne and I were heading towards Mrs. Macquerie's Chair and this was very conveniently on our way there. The weather was a bit chilly and even rainy and not too many swimmers were in the pool. TFTC!

We weren't quite sure, which would be the right direction to approach the cache. Naturally we chose the wrong one - though the easier way wasn't too easy either. ZeroOne was lucky enough to spot the cache quickly when we got to the right level, and we were able to continue our walk. TFTC!

I'll be there too, naturally!

This was our first day in Sydney and straight a way we decided to go look at the views from Mrs Macquerie's Chair. The day was a bit cloudy and even rainy, but the famous views were still spectacular. Thanks for the earthcache!

We had to wait for a while for cars to go by, so that we could get to GZ, but the actual find was very nice and easy. TFTC!

Last find of our first day in Sydney. We were walking back to our hotel from Spice Temple. It was already totally dark outside and we had just witnessed our first encounter with a possum and we could hear the bats screeching in the trees. All this made it a very exciting night for us. It was very cool to end the night on a clever little cache like this. TFTC!

The rainy afternoon provided us an empty street and we were able to look at the art works and look for the cache in peace. Our first find in Sydney, but certainly not the last. TFTC!

Thanks for showing us this place. As a MA in comp. lit. this was awesome! However I was quite boring with my choice and went with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. But I did once write quite a long essay about Sherlock Holmes and I have read pretty much all the Holmes stories.

18-Oct-14
We took a nice little stroll to this cache, that had luckily escaped the disabled-disease going around town. Our feet were so sore from three days' walking that after this we walked back to the hotel to rest and apply some more cold gel. Very Happy TFTC!

17-Oct-14
After a morning stroll in the Botanical gardens we decided to head to the other side of the river for lunch and of course to gather the needed information for this cache. Thanks for showing us this interesting piece of Brisbane's history!

16-Oct-14
Whoa, what a climb! The view was spectacular and the cemetary was truly worth the visit. TFTC!

ZeroOne and I hiked up to the summit from the Auchenflower train station (naturally looking for a few caches on the way) and there first rested and enjoyed the view before collecting the information for this nice little virtual. TFTC!

I sent ZeroOne down to look for the cache and gave professional advice from afar. It seems the team work paid off and soon we had our names on the logbook. TFTC!
