Logs for agentjet

Easy find with hint. Many muggles around so it took a while but well worth it. Interesting history, cheers.

GPS reception much worse than expected, but easy to find with the hint. TFTC.

Easy find with surprisingly good GPS reception. Nice spot, cheers.

Found at approx 5.30pm, so not sure if we bet babyfox54 or not Smile

Co-ords were spot on but it still took quite a bit of hunting, not realising the exact appearance of the cache. Cleverly hidden.

Note: the log was wet so it wasn't possible to write anything. Will need to be replaced or dried in the sun for a few hours (sorry didn't have time to do this).

A nice spot. TFTC!

Despite living nearby for a year I didn't know about this spot - great view. TFTC.

Thought I solved the puzzle correctly as the co-ordinates led to the sort of place where a cache might be hidden (and the hint made sense at that location too), but after 20 mins of hunting failed to find it.
And yeah, I definitely used Google Earth for this one!

Glad we didn't come when it was busy! Fortunately at around 5pm on ANZAC day the park was pretty quiet. TNLN. Cheers.

Definitely a bit higher than just above ground level, but not too tricky to find. Didn't know this area existed!

Couldn't find it, although had a novice in charge of the GPS which may not have helped. Will come back when I have time to have a better look.

Quick and easy find... definitely easier to avoid muggles in the dark. Nice to see some more caches at this end of town - cheers.
+ LOTR cards

Nice easy find. Parked cars on the street assisted with stealthiness.
Something different! Cheers.

Bit of a hike up the hill from the valley, but the view on the way down was worth it.
Nice and easy to find, cheers.
+ LOTR card
- Spy Toy

Got within 10m at about 7.30pm but it was still light and there were many muggles around, so decided to come back and try when it's dark instead.
Recommend visiting this one at night!

20-Sep-07
Magnificent view after walking up from the Gardens. Was nice watching clouds roll in across the peninsula as it turned dark.

05-Aug-07
Nice easy find - a good walk for the 4yo and 11yo in tow! TFTC!

Took a bit longer than anticipated to find - I think we were put off by some of the pricklier plants Smile

+ Simpsons hologram
- LOTR card

The most confusing cache I've hunted so far! Required a hint from cache owner (thank you), after failing to find the cache without first solving the riddle.

To all future seekers: DEFINITELY solve the riddle before you go to the quarry. The cache is more-or-less impossible to find without solving the clue first.

Thanks for a fun couple of outings - we waved from the cache site, did you see us? Smile

I'm no longer living in Invercargill. So far as I know the cache is still there.

Just checking on cache - is still there and in good condition!

Nice easy find. TFTC pipedream - I've walked this area a few times in the past but hadn't realised the loop track had been completed already. Good to see it being well used.

Found this a while back but forgot to log it (my bad).

Good to have a cache back at this beautiful spot, cheers.

Nice easy find. Great spot on fine day - cheers.

** Coordinates Changed From **
S 46° 26.546 E 168° 13.980
Distance From Old: 71.6 feet
Have updated the coordinates to match those supplied by trutta - thanks for your help. I've tested these coords and they appear to be much more accurate. Happy hunting Smile

Cache is still there.

25-Nov-06
Thanks pipedream - nice easy cache in a neat spot I wouldn't otherwise have known.

04-Nov-06
Cache has been muggled. No sign of it. As this is the second time this has happend I will archive this cache, and replace it with a new multi sometime over summer. Thanks to all who found and enjoyed this one.,

It was daylight but the building block concept still worked! Nice easy cache. Harbour looked beautiful today; props to the Port Authority for constructing such a nice walkway.

TFTC!

A nice find on a good day out with Mrs Jet Senior (aka Mum), who was visiting from Nelson. Unfortunately she slipped down the cliff above the cache after unnecessarily climbing up to find the stash. At least one of us got a good laugh out of it Wink

Anyway great place for a cache. This was the first of three finds today on the peninsula.

I last visited this spot in 2002, at the time not knowing much about the tragic events of 1990. Visiting again soon after watching 'Out of the Blue' meant the experience was much more poignant.

Gave some water to the tree.

TFTC.

Interesting historical spot - wouldn't have known to stop here if it wasn't for the cache. Weather was cold and wet yet there were still lots of muggles about to hamper the search.

Significantly the cache was NOT hidden at ground level (in fact was about 1.8m above ground level). Not being sure of its correct location I returned it to the above-ground spot where I found it. Will email the owner with further details.

Beautiful, beautiful beach! A couple of surfers and people having coffee in their caravan looked at me curiously as I set off down the beach in such bad weather. Nice and easy find though; someone had already logged a visit earlier in the day.

Nice stopover on day trip to Dunedin. Thanks!

Excellent spot to stopover; well worth the walk to the falls despite wet & windy weather. Had a bit of trouble finding the cache as multiple locations matched the hint.

From reading the comments in the logbook I see others have had trouble too. To future cachers: from the right angle this cache is visible without moving any of the vegetation (this hint might save you some cuts and scratches).

TFTC!

Reasonably easy find in the rain. Because of weather and time constraints didn't try the walk to the falls.

There was some construction in progress in the middle of the grass clearing; at first my GPSr suggested the cache was buried somewhere amongst it. Thankfully that wasn't the case.

A second visit to this cache but the first to its new hiding location. Brought Daffy the TB from Christchurch.

11-Oct-06
Tried finding it last night but didn't have the starting waypoint or a torch. Much easier to find with the waypoint, in daylight!

Interesting spot. Picked up Daffy Duck "El Segundo" TB to take to Invercargill tomorrow.

Cheers

Nice easy find after a morning walk from Spreydon. Got a few cuts from the vegetation!

+ Stickers
- Hologram

GPS co-ords spot on (I think), but at the time I arrived there were a lot of parents and kids at the playground so I didn't have a chance to go hunting for the cache without being seen.

Filled in time though with a nice walk through the cemetery, so it wasn't a wasted trip. Will try again when I'm next in Christchurch. I've stayed with family in this neighbourhood dozens of times and never knew this park or cemetery existed before now.

Great spot for an early evening walk - plenty of muggles about enjoying the fine weather.

+ owl
- baby stickers

Cheers

Thanks for the cache - have driven through Timaru many times and never known about the lighthouse until now.

Took a couple of goes to reach the site - intially travelled down the port loop road before realising there was no access road to the far side of the bay.

TNLN

Nice easy find. Plenty of muggles in cars so had to walk past the cache a few times before I had a chance to access it.

+ nothing

Cheers!

Cache still there in fine condition.

Have driven this road once before but hadn't noticed the bridge. Second virtual cache of the day after 'Monkey Island'. Very cool bridge.

Great virtual cache. Took friends' dog (see photo), who loved his first experience at a beach. Dog had a bit of a fall on the rocks then got scared of the water, but dried out after a long walk up the coast.

Saw flounderers today for the first time, and also saw my first toaroa. All round a quality Southland experience Smile

Didn't have GPSr but was able to find cache with some local knowledge and the hints. Great view today; magnificent weather.

25-Sep-06
Found Cache Creek no trouble, was to be cache #3 of 4 on today's drive from Nelson to Invercargill. However by the time I got there (8pm) it was pitch black and raining heavily. Didn't have a torch, so being the wussy solo geocacher I am I decided not to risk climbing through the dark to find it. Great spot though; will return in better weather!

Great stopover on today's drive from Nelson to Invercargill. Met a local whitebaiter setting up as I walked back from the cave, was interesting to learn about the area from him.

Took photo of the old railway bridge being dismantled. Photo was taken looking out from entrance to cave.

10.30pm
Find #3 of 3 on today's drive from Nelson to Invercargill. Was raining heavily so I didn't risk wetting the notepad by writing in it (but I really did find it, honest!)...
This cache location also helped me find a gas station (visible from there). I was running low after driving from Hokitika.
