Went for a weekend trip to the area with my partner Tina and our good friends Wayne and Chris, Introduced them all to geocaching after a quick search wayne found it! nice place to hide a cache.
We took the yellow man figure and left an Aussie key ring

Cache is in need of some attention, needs a new note pad and a pen.

Had dropped off trackable "horses around the world" back to this cache in september 2009
Seems I need to log it back in. sorry guys have been out of action for some time after being very ill.

Searched the area and couldn't find cache, wasn't in the place descibed in the hint although I found a stack of rocks in the place it would most likley to be hiding under.

After dropping Mum off for chemo at Ballarat Base Nephew Adam and I headed off to find some Ballarat caches, After finding ground zero we knew there was no hope at getting to the cache when it was surounded by about 20 school girls, but then a bus pulled up and we were in luck. young Adam pointed to a possible hide and we were in luck!

No scratchies left in this one just plenty of buisness cards

John batman was the founder of the city now known as Melbourne.
There is plenty of info on this Native born Australian pioneer at this web site http://www.whitehat.com.au/Melbourne/People/Batman.html
there is also info about the area and the landing of batman at http://www.zades.com.au/bellhs/indented.html

I cant believe that no body has posted this one!!
Queenscliff's famous Black Lighthouse is one of only 3 of this colour in the world. It is the only black lighthouse in the Southern Hemisphere. Also know as the High Lighthouse it is located inside the historic Fort Queenscliff guarding the entrance to Port Phillip Bay this made it difficult for me to get a good photo shot,
History:
The lighthouse was built to replace an ealier sandstone 1843 lighthouse that was under powered and the tower had structurally deteriorated.

The new light was built in 1862 in conjunction with the White (Low) Lighthouse and therefore had many similarities in design (see maccamobs entry)
