Logs for tom & nikki

After moving overseas and finding out that Beautiful Bulyong Creek went for a swim in the floods, it's time for this beauty to retire. It was good while it lasted.

A very nice spot and a nicely tucked away cache! Unfortunately the damp has crept into its hidey hole and the paper is pretty soggy... we couldn't record our visit for fear of ripping damaging the log.

Our last cemetery excursion was at nighttime with torches (no shovels!)...hopefully this time we were a little less suspicious as we paid our respects to a line of people gradually closer to our destination.
A nice little cache by a lovely old cemetery.

A nice little hike up the hill, past a curious ginger cat living in a drainpipe... now immortalised as 'the curious incident of the cat in the drainpipe'.
Michael was almost slain by the treacherous terrain during wet weather, but we bravely persevered!!

At last! A full year after the first unsuccessful attempt with English cousin Robert, younger brother Michael was ushered into Hewett to right a great wrong.
The brave crusaders were rewarded with bountiful treasure (a green stone), richly traded for some very handy cue chalk.
TFTC... finally!!

It wasn't a great day for caching (grey and drizzling) or showing overseas guests around the normally beautiful hills... alas.

The hiding spot was excellent and provided some excellent photo opportunities for digital hijinx! Great spot and home to a friendly Echidna on that particular day.

The cache's first activity in a while!
A very quick scramble down the hill and a run back to the car were in vain - still missed our train! But it was worth it, we'll be back to get Over and Under soon and to spend some time in this amazing spot.

This cache is certainly one of the most spectacular I've encountered. An absoulte Gem of a spot and an amazing cache in many ways.
What an amazing collection within the cache.
The perfect weather gave us a wonderful chance to spend some time in Parra Wirra, which we haven't visited for far too long.
Thanks so much Zytheran

[One of the toughest caches I've encountered in terms of Muggle activity! Very creatively placed.]
This is one cache where being clumsy helps, I don't know how many times I dropped my coins making a phone call, GOSH!!

I just about wore out my shoelaces completely on this day of city caching! I had looked at the likely spot on my way past a number of times and thought that the cache was gone and someone had shoved rubbish in; WRONG!
Hopefully the take in front of commuters was so brazen as to be unnoticed!

Great to see the animal theme still going strong and what a great day for a stroll in Botanic Park.

Sigh, the first true DNF for Tom & Nikki and SplitScreen.
Searched hard by torchlight, with no muggles in sight; but to no avail. Perhaps we were too focussed on what we thought was the obvious spot, there's always next time.
Tough, open site DISK, nice work.

Haha, we also thought we'd seen the location from afar. But alas, alack and well-a-day we were wrong! Found the real location easily by following the GPS (who would have thought)!
A nice peaceful little cache away from prying eyes and the crackle of the powerlines.

Another wonderful piece of Gawler's history in this cache. I'm truly ashamed how long it took us to connect the cache's title with its history. For some reason I figured that a Run was some an ancient term for a lane. OH DEAR!!!

Oh the pine needles! We too were somewhat daunted by the potential length of the search but luckily the find was quick. Another part of Gawler that I used frequently before caching; I see it in a new light!

Great multicache!
Like some others we were led on a merry chase by the faded dates! We went back in the dark, and of-course couldn't see make any headway in working out where we went wrong! However, we had a bit of a look in a couple of likely spots near the miniature Arabella and lo and behold, it was found!
A fantastic tour of some more of Gawler's history.
TNLN - no timepieces with us (sigh).

After deciding that Indian was on the menu, we had an extra 30mins to wait for our order. A quick call to home got us some extra coordinates, and we were on the move for 'Cracked'.
After aggravating numerous local dogs by stealing into the park at night, we found the well hidden cache and returned in the nick of time to receive our Chicken Tikka straight from the Tandoor Oven. We returned home triumphantly with news of caches, and the much anticipated sub-continental feast!

Dear DISK,
It's wonderful to find that there are so many caches around our lovely town of Gawler. The addition of the history surrounding the train was an excellent touch; it brough back memories of seeing it there as a child. It was a great way to introduce our visiting English cousin to geocaching.
The train theme has gone, and I'm afraid I couldn't do much to save it; We looked for a train at home, but alas, it was to no avail.

Wow!
Our first experience of geocaching!
We learned that muggles aren't just part of a multi-billion dollar fiction, and that DreadedWeasel's GPS was actually a sound purchase after all!!
