Checked on this cache today whilst I was in the area on a GirlGuiding camp, the cache had a little 'cache creep' so it has been moved to its original location and is looking good.

Unfortunately I don't think I can attend this event, hope to see you next month.

Making good time on our Leap Day caching trip from Whangarei so are planning on attending tonight's event before an exciting day caching in and around Auckland tomorrow.
Had popped down from Whangarei for our Leap Day caches on the 29th Feb. I totally didn't expect to find a group of 38 geocachers from a group attending this event and being one of the 3 locals (that weren't actually locals, more like fellow NZers), which was a shame that no other local caches were available to attend. It was great to get to talk to a number of the fellow German caching group and find out about their past travels and travels on this trip. Thanks for organising this event.

Last minute decision to go camping yesterday morning and Otamure DOC campsite was the choosen destination. What a great campsite and beautiful beach. After packing up camp and moving our cars to the public area we set off to find the last two caches in this area. We went to what we thought would be GZ to find we were a little out and then thought we were totally in the wrong place, however found the details we were looking for. This cache requires walking shoes as the path disappears so we had to bush bash the last 50 odd metres to GZ. We managed to find the cache but unfortunately didnt see any Pateke (think we may have heard a couple). Thanks for bringing me here and TFGC. Found with The TravelbugTribe, Nessvab & BeansproutNZ.

Last minute decision to go camping this morning and Otamure DOC campsite was the choosen destination. What a great campsite and beautiful beach. We all set up camp before heading for a swim and then of course needed to get this geocache before heading off to get some dinner at the local store/takeaway shop.A quick walk from where we were swimming to GZ and we soon had the cache in hand. Thanks for bringing me here and TFGC. Found with Nessvab & BeansproutNZ

After packing up camp and moving our cars to the public area we set off to find the last two caches in this area. There were a few steps involved in venturing to GZ however once there is was a reasonable quick find. The cache does need some attention as it doesnt have a lid so therefore the log was saturated and unfortunately we didnt bring a spare with us. What beautiful views on this walk and at GZ. Thanks for bringing me here and TFGC. Found with Nessvab & BeansproutNZ.

What a fantastic way to spend Waitangi Day 2024 caching on Urupukapuka Island, the temperature was a little too hot (26) but the views were magical. Liss Crew and I took the 8.30am boat out to the island with others who were continuing on to the Hole in the Rock. The boat left Paihia for Russell, collected a few passengers before making its way to Waitangi for us to witness the spectacular Waka Parade as they paddled under the bridge and along the shore before heading out to the island. We travelled back on the 5.45pm boat to Paihia giving us time to have a beverage and snack in Otehei Bay.Liss Crew and I walked up and down the hills exploring the island and finding all the caches (except the multi). This was another easy find cache at GZ and a lovely spot to stop for some afternoon tea. We decided not to venture down to the beach close by this time as we went sure how much time it would take to get back. TFGC and thanks for bringing me here.

What a great place for a camping holiday. Thanks for the cache in this fantastic location. We found this cache quickly (or the hint) however we took a minute or two to get the cache in hand (& to pop it back in its rightful place).

Unfortunately the outside containers lid has broken so it was half full of water. The log was in another container however was very wet, as we were at the junction and were coming back this way we discreetly hung the log up and put the container out to dry while we ventured off to get the other caches in the area before coming back and putting the nice and dry log back in the cache and rehiding it. TFGC and bringing us here.

Congratulations Lis on your full calendar for January. It was a great evening with lots of local caches able to attend and chocolate chip cookies.
Attended Lis's Full Calendar Event nearby so it was great that one of the group was armed with a folding ladder (very envious of his fantastic TOTT ) The tree was an oldie in the reserve and glad that one of the group attendees was happy to climb up the ladder to get the cache. A local muggle mentioned to a few of the group members the history of the tree. This puzzle was easy to solve once I had a hint from a local geocacher puzzle whizz. Thanks for this challenging puzzle and cache.

Exciting Lis, yes planning on attending and would prefer to see the views from the ground lol.

We went for a walk along the Redwood Treetops before exploring the tracks underneath. Great hide, spent ages on the wrong side of the track on another tree but once at GZ easy find. Thanks for bringing me here and TFGC.
