Logs for 4XK Crew

04-Jan-09
finally stopped and found it!

just about the last page in the book.

nice walk although a lot further than you might think from the carpark!

29-Dec-08
we took a long long drive to get back for this one and then with fading day and very average gps signal we had to abrt without the prize. Next time.

28-Dec-08
nice drive to an easy find

found it! we took a civil war geocoin (CWWB5F) and left a geocoin WT7G82 which we collected from Moreton Island earlier in December.

Sadly our clothing was insufficient to prevent the onset of leeches so we had to abort. Great walk though.

yay!!! geo mum's first find!

love 'a break' . need a reason to go back.

26-Dec-08
gps wanted me to be on the oter side of the river for a while but un the end it was an easy find.

who needs a better reason to get the kids out of the car for a while. great spot to relax awhile.

en route to a camping holiday. good place to take a break.

11-Dec-08
too many muggles to even bother. crawling over the dunes like flies. maybe they were all looking for the cache?

nearly didn't proceed due to the no entry signs - went through anyway and then found the open track on the way out.

great fun easy climb. climbed it twice cause we had to replace the pen. also fond a nearby wasp nest (well it found me) guarding the cache location - take care.

10-Dec-08
a shade shelter at the top would have been appreciated. maybe some shoes on a hot day would have helped but what a view.

great views - well worth the climb. took geocoin wt7g82. our first coin find.

09-Dec-08
we parked at the co-ordinates and searched the adjacent hilltops but to no avail. We'll have to go back to Moreton for another look sometime.

easy find. took our photo and moved on.

08-Dec-08
what a sight. this is the first cache our No. 1 geokid has found. 14 more on moreton before we leave.

15-Nov-08
sadly we went the way of the two previous logs. Got the clues found a very likley looking spot but didn't come up with the goods. The light was fading so will go back for another go soon. And yes one of the co-ords does seem to take you to the wrong place but is that a trick for the un suspecting???

14-Nov-08

A nice easy stroll - but we did it at quite a busy time! Lots of people walking and using our beautiful parks.

02-Nov-08
well second time lucky. finally we got back to have another look for this one and it was pretty much exactly where we thought we looked last time. the small rock was not over the cache so we hid it a little better when we left. TNLN.

26-Oct-08
Stage 1 we found ok. the area around the cache though seems to have been recently and substantially disturbed. undergrowth (weeds) has been cleared. i have a suspicion the cache may have been removed.

18-Oct-08
It is indeed a pleasant walk. We undertook it with 4yo on foot and 7yo on bike in tow from Bridge Street approach. Getting there was a lot easier than getting home.

found it ok. the track gets pretty vague in places but follow your nose.

05-Oct-08
We spent a little time looking. Found a log that looked likley but needed to look a bit longer for success.

the hardest part was not being seen - very public location.

the clue was a dead set give away. beautiful place to visit esecially when there aren't crowds around.

a nice easy one to start the day - so long as you are over 6 foot tall.

04-Oct-08
I was pretty sure I was in the right place but no cache. ran out of time to search but we will go back.

this was our first find. very excited, especially the kids.
