The Adventure:
Got an early SMS from my neices asking whether I wanted to go Geocaching. The older on had gone Geocaching with me before and enjoyed it, the middle one had seen videos and wanted to go. So they managed to convience the father (my brother) to take them out for the day, and because I promised I would go with them when they wanted to go they, sent the message. I had and idea of doing something else, however I thought Geocaching would be fun. So we decided to give some of the YYCD trail ago as is would be suited for the girls as we could be a little less stealthy and allow them to practice searching. We grabbed some stuff to make lunch and were off. The days was great, the girls enjoyed themselves and collected some little trinkets along the way. They even loved finding the caches when they were to small to contain swaps, although they did look forward to the ones that did as well. Today we decided to stick to the traditionals.
We found the caches of the series very entertaining and enjoyable. The hides were very good, and some were very ingenious. Will be looking forward to coming back and finishing the series, whether by myself or with the younglings.
Thank you for the hides that we attempted this time, and will be looking forward to coming back and completing the series.

Well, I had been watching this one, and thought maybe the Force might guide me to the cache. Unfortunately, the area is steeped in the Dark Side of the Force and was unable to determine the location of the cache. Met Alsume while searching.
Eventually I had to leave. However this cache has got me intrigued, and will have to go back and try and clear the site of the Dark Side

01-Aug-15
Date: 31/07/2015
Time: approx 16:30
Find: #40
The Adventure:
This was a purely opportunistic find. Was travelling back from Sydney for work, decided I needed a break from driving and this stop happened to be the first one available. As I was stretching my legs and before getting back into the car as a passenger, I viewed the app on the phone. My co-pilot/work colleague had never been caching although had heard me talking about, so I thought why not. Used my phone rather than my Dakota to locate the cache. Had it found quickly, signed and returned.
I know there are many caches in the rest stops up and down the Hume, one day will go for just a caching and photography drive I think.
Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing
Thank you for the cache.

Time: 10:30
Find: #38
The Adventure:
The force was guiding me today. I needed to test the work the service droids did to the Jedi Cruiser. So I took it for a spin.
I had known this cache was here for a while, this was a place I had visited many times over the years since I got my licence. It has changed a lot since then.
I parked the Jedi Cruiser and head for the path leading to the cache. Looks like the Stormtroopers has improved their aim as the was scorch marks on the ground, either that or Jawa's were tinkering and a power pack overloaded, or the more like explanation, local theives stole and torched a land vehicle that has since been removed. That is a more likely explanation that Stormtroopers improving their aiming abilities.
Follow the path and the general direction given on my location device. As a closed in to the location my device was pointing in once direction, however there force was guiding me to look else where. Trusting the force I soon had the container in hand.
Took: Nothing
Left: A Shiny new Jedi73 Pathtag
I have had my Pathtags for a little while, and between a combination I things I haven't been out caching for a little while. I thought today was a good day to place one in a cache seeing as it is exactly a year to the release of the new movie.
Thank you for the cache.

The force guided me to this cache after completing another close by. Still wanting to ensure the droids did a good job, I continued to the location. I had travelled this way many times in my youth mainly to come up here for the view. Thinking back to all the times I had come up here in the past and comparing it to what I saw today, there is a lot of change.

The Adventure:
During a break in my mission, I decided explore. I had previously been alerted via the HoloNet that a new cache had been placed here and decided today would be a good day. The weather was pleasant, so I made my run.
I navigated my ground vehicle around and sometimes through the bumps and ditches. A land speeder would have been so much easier. My tracking device alerted me that I was closing in. It was then I felt a disturbance in the force. Sith!!!!
They where milling near Ground Zero, so I navigated beyond and waited.
....and waited
.....and waited.
On the verge of leaving the dark presence, I noticed the Sith preparing to leave.
Once the darkside of the Force had receded, I checked my surroundings, all clear. I moved in. As I stopped and exited my ground vehicle, I heard something, looking around I noticed Mandalorians where making a beach assault. Feeling that the force was not with me today. I made my self look busy until the Mandalorians had retrieved their water craft and left.
Finally I thought....
Until I heard the revving of another ground vehicle. Looking in the direction of the noise I noticed Sandpeople releasing some pets. I moved my ground vehicle to a safe spot and watched.
The Sandpeople continued past my location and were soon out of site.
I made a quick dash for the GZ.
The Force was with me, and guided me to the cache quickly. I retrieved, signed and returned the cache and departed the area.

I though that I had logged this and 3 other nearby caches, but when my manual tally and the GC tally didn't equate, I realised I hadn't.
The Adventure:
Well, I had ran some errands on this day and as I passed by this road I remembered that there were four caches waiting to be found, some I turned and began splashing through puddles. The GPS was spot on. After waiting for a couple more cars, I made the find and signed the log. Nice container.
As I glanced up the road, and headed that way after I signed the cache, I realised why the traffic. The had created a bridge for the RRL and paved all the way to Palmers Road. Bet only half the traffic realise that after the bridge is dirt

The GPS was spot on, however unlike the first one, I had to wait for about 5 cars to pass. I have lived in the area most of my life and have never seen this road this business, well except for the brave souls that use to try to traverse it on a winters night when the Princes Freeway was block. So while I was waiting for the cars I "talked" on my mobile, being the law abiding citizen and pulling over to converse
When it was clear I jumped out and made the find, signed the log and replaced it to get back in the car just before another car passed. Damn traffic.

The Adventure:
Well, was out and about looking for local sites for some photography shoots. I remembered this location from when I was a kid riding around the local area and thought that it might be suitable for what I was looking for. I GPS my photo locations anyway and I knew there was a cache here so I thought I would kill two birds with one stone. After searching for locations for myself, I brought up the cache and the GPS and made a quick find, partially because the cache was half visible. Signed the log and replaced the cache and made sure it was concealed again.
The area is a lot more over grown that I remembered, but it might be suitable for my needs.

When I saw this series, I thought that is was another one I had to do because of the names. So because I was nearby, I chose this as the first one I would do.
I park the car and followed the arrow. I bounced a bit and once it settled it was pointing behind me. I turned around and saw the cache on the ground in the open. Went to it and could see where it was meant to be so after signing the log I returned it to its location. Not sure if some angry little local inhabitant moved it, there was nothing inside the cache to attract there attention.
I look forward to completing the series.

This is a very interesting location, without a cache down here, I would never how though of venturing down this road. Drove to a point where I could go no further, and got out. Followed the arrow and took a few minutes to negotiate the obstacles not being the most agile of people.
Searched the location for a few minutes and frowned, then it clicked. I made the find and signed the log and returned the cache.
I spent a few minutes looking around but not wanting to get blown into the nearby water I decided that I should return to the car. I imagine this would be a nice place in summer, although I am not sure about the smell the beach seaweed would give off.

Anyway, today was much better. A couple of the local residents were out and about, but I told them if they left me alone, I would leave them alone
Headed to where the arrow was pointing. I didn't see anything on a quick look, then something caught my I. Soon I had the cache in hand, signed and returned. Loved the cache.

Well, I had partially driven to this one a couple of months ago, however there were too many muggles parked nearby so I didn't even attempt the search, this time no one was about, although the weather was more pleasant last time. The wind was cold, but I don't mind that.
I had seen the previous DNF's but thought I would give it a try anyway as I was down this way.
The Dark Side however was clouding everything and my searching did not reveal the location of the cache.
So unfortunately I too must log this as a DNF
On the plus side I saw 4 eagles flying over the wet lands, and again it prompted me that I must remember my camera I will return this way again soon, just to see if these birds are about and maybe snap a photo or too.

I love coming to areas that have local historic references. Looking at the fencing that remains you could almost imagine the houses and the families that use to occupy them.
Its a shame that people have to use some of these areas to dump things
For some reason my GPS was bouncing between two locations, the first I couldn't see how a cache the size of the one described could be hidden, so I looked at the other and come up with the cache. I signed the log and returned it, gazing about once more before returning to my car.

On an adventure with my niece (*Geo-J*), I decided to introduce her to geocaching.
So I pick some out of the way caches that were most likely to contain swappables.
We followed our GPSrs to the most likely point, I saw a place I suspected where the cache was and while coaxing her to look in the location, she actually saw it in its hiding place.
It was a windy day, but other than that was a pleasant day for caching. A great introduction for my niece.

I thought the scenery was fantastic and was made even better when we noticed an eagle launch into the air to glide above the nearby valley.
The cache also showed *Geo-J* that not all caches were the same.
This turned out to be our last cache for the day, and was a nice one to end on.

I was asked to give a little talk the Venturer unit about Geocaching, so while I was waiting, I opened my app to see which was the closest cache so as to give them an idea of just how close a cache could be. And low and behold this cache showed up. It was perfectly placed.
I hope that some of the young adult in that were there take up geocaching as I have enjoyed it and hope they do to.

The Adventure:
This was one I definitely wanted to grab, and I knew that there wouldn't be much muggle activity if any. Parked near the rock and looked at, I had seen it a couple of times travelling past and always wondered what it was for.
Time to find the cache. I looked at the GPS and it was bouncing wildly. Anyway, headed in the general direction and came across a friendly little spider as a walked through its web. Anyway continue following the GPS and it was taking me this way and the other. So I stood and looked around, I saw a couple of place where I would have put it, then I saw something.
Soon I had the cache in hand and the log signed.
Thank you for bring me to this spot, I don't think without the cache I would have stopped. It is a shame that in this day and age we aren't more curious about these sort of things. In the future I am certainly going to try and be.

Well, I was heading up the Hume for a family function across the border, and had planned out a series of geocaches to grab a long the way, this was the first. When I pulled in there was a couple of other cars back a bit further and I stretched and walked around the car pretending to check it out while looking at the GPS. After making sure it was clear I quickly made my way to GZ. After a minute I found the cache container and signed the long book.
Out of all the ones that I had planned, I ended up with 2 and a dnf all the other sites were teeming with muggles. Note to self for future Hume trips, don't cache on Long Weekends *l*. I probably could have gotten others, but because of my time restrictions when I realised how busy other stops where, there was only two left along my trip.

I looked up and saw another car swing behind me, thought maybe other cachers, but no, a guy got out and decided to walk his dog, while his wife waited in the car in view of GZ. After 10 minutes they left and I replaced the cache.
The stolen car mentioned by TrailRunning has been removed, but the tyre drag marks are still there.

The Adventure:
Well, this is my 13th cache, an unlucky number for some, but not for me. I like 13 as a number.
The area of the cache was quiet. My gps bounced a little between two possible locations, choosen one I happened to guess right.
I sat down at the chair and table and signed the log and just sat a listened to nature, until I heard the revving of some wanna be race car.
A very nice spot and an interesting bridge.

The Adventure:
It is sad to see what people do to out of the way areas like this, I would imagine that this area would be nice without all the rubbish in the area. Having and overflowing bins wasn't helping matters, but I suspect that a lot the rubbish that was around never made it as far as the bin anyway.
My Gps lead me straight to the coords and I quickly had the cache in hand. Returned to the car to sign and then quickly returned the cache.
There were a few cars about, no one was in them I assumed that they were all out fishing since a number had trailers, and the ones without were out with the ones that did.
