Log on Feb 2016, but my actual visit on the island was on Oct 12.
The visit on the island was one of the highlights of my WHV year in New Zealand. We had a good weather (though with a rough see) to enjoy the great scenery and colors the island offers. That's great to have an Earth Cache here, definitely worth it!

Je log un peu en retard, en fevrier 2016 alors que j'ai visité le site en octobre 2012.
Cette journée sur White Island fut un des temps forts de mon année PVT en Nouvelle Zélande. On a eu la chance d'avoir beau temps, même si la mer était bien déchainée. Magnifiques panoramas et couleurs sur l'ile, une vraie merveille!

I had quite a hunt to find this one, my GPS was a good 5m away. Finally got it with the clue. Great location for a cache! TFTC 

Spent a few minutes looking for this one. I was obviously looking in the wrong bush ^^ TFTC

Visited on Oct 7th 2012, and logging on Feb 10th 2016. Quite late!
This day of Oct 2012 will be one of the best of my life for years. What a hike! What a scenery! We had to wait 2 days in Whakapapa, while it rained, snowed and hayed. 2 days hoping on Sunday 7th, the sun would be there, as expect by weather forecast.
On sunday morning, we woke up with 5cm of fresh snow in the village, but a big sun shining. Yay! Let's hike this !
The scenery with rocks and snow was really awesome. Due to recent eruption of the Tongariro, the traverse could not be done, so we hiked to the Red Crater and had to come back to the start. On our way back, we hike Ngauruhoe, covered in snow.

J'étais sur le Tongariro Crossing le 7 Octobre 2012, mais je log seulement maintenant, le 10 Fevrier 2016... Un peu en retard!
Quelle journée nous avons eu! Une des meilleurs rando de ma vie, et un des plus beaux endroits de Nouvelle Zélande. Et ce n'est pas peu dire!!
Après 2 jours d'attente à Whakapapa, pour cause de mauvais temps, nous nous réveillons le dimanche 7 Octobre avec 5 cm de neige fraiche dans la vallée. Mais le soleil est là, et la journée s'annonce splendide! Pas de chichi, on s'équipe, et c'est parti!
Le Tongariro ayant eu une éruption quelques semaines auparavant, nous ne pourrons finir la traversée. Arrivés Au Red Crater, nous faisons demi-tour. Sur le chemin du retour, on se fait quand même l'ascension du Ngauruhoe, dans la neige. Un si beau sommet, ça ne se manque pas!!
Une magnifique journée de rando, qui restera dans les annales!

Great spot! We climbed the hill on this beautifull day before taking the ferry.
Took a bit of crawling to find the cache, wouldn't want to do it on a rainy day!

Logging a few years later (Feb 2016) for a visit in Jan 2011. Yeah, I'm late...
Rainy day in the Catlins for my visit, but this was worth the trip though. I enjoyed the petrified forest and spotted a couple of yellow eyed penguins. Great adventure!

Un log très en retard (février 2016) pour une visite il y a fort longtemps (Janvier 2011). Ce fut une journée pluvieuse dans les Catlins (comme souvent), mais la visite en valait la chandelle. Une impressionnante forêt pétrifiée à Curio Bay, et même quelques manchots cachés dans les fourrés.
