Logs for Jag50

25-Nov-24
We missed hearing the notification for this new cache, as one of our phones was on silent and the other was at the other end of the house. We checked our phone a little later, and noticed 2 new caches close to home. We quickly jumped in the car and made the short drive to the entrance to this park. After a FTF with FMZ at Pine-ing we continued on along and up the track. We were joined by Rebel along the way. At gz, the light was starting to fade as we searched for this cache. Luckily we all were able to use our phone torches to assist us in our search. We heard a dog barking in the distance, but took no notice as we continued to look for this cache. Just as MrsJAG had this cache in hand, a lady and her dog walked down the track to see what the commotion in the bush was. We explained we were out for a night walk as werent sure if we told her what we were really doing, if this would compromise the cache. MrsJag handed the cache to FMZ to sign and replace, while the JAGs continued up the path with the lady and her dog (Bobby). We had a lovely chat about the area and also met her partner and Agnes the cat. The mosquitoes were starting to bite now, so we made our way back down the track to the car. Another great hide and another FP given. Thanks for the cache and showing us this park has reopened.

We checked our phone a little later, and noticed 2 new caches close to home. We quickly jumped in the car and made the short drive to the entrance to this park, where we didnt see any familiar cars. We made our way along the path to gz, where we see a couple right there on gz. As we got closer we recognised FMZ. He had just found the cache and was just signing the log, so claiming this as a joint {FTF}. Really love the camo here, so FP given. Thanks for the cache and adventure tonight

Thankfully it didnt take too long to hunt this alien down. We remember being here for a previous cache or two!TFTC and smilie

Out caching with Net61 this Sunday morning. After collecting a few caches in the CBD, we detoured to find this cache before heading over the harbour bridge. Being early morning there werent too many muggles around, and the seat was empty. We sat down and enjoyed the views from here, whilst letting our fingers walk to find this cache. Thanks G2 for another san Fran hide

We really needed to visit the pub, after taking the direct and steep climb up to gz, where Net made a quick find of the cache with the helpful hint. Replaced cache as found, and time now for lunch. TFTC

Out caching with Net61 this Sunday morning. We were glad to see some new caches along this nice walkway and were happy to revisit it again. Net went one side while jag went the other and it wasnt long before jag found this well camouflaged cache. We really like these caches that are in plain sight. TFTC

Out caching with Net61 this Sunday morning. Knowing that the annual Farmers Santa parade was on today, we stopped at the CBD to collect a few caches. It was nice and quiet in town today, and we almost had the place to ourselves. Net went one side while JAG went to the other and jag found the cache in the first place she looked. Thanks for bringing us here and showing us this great playground m, which we havent visited before. We will have to bring our family here to check out these cool see saws made from masts. TFTC and smilie

Out caching with Net61 today. We soon found the first dummy cache on the ground, rather than where we were expecting to find the cache as per the hint. We came across a few more dummy caches before finally finding the real cache. (Dont Want to give too much away here). This is an excellent field puzzle and well deserving of a FP.Whilst signing the log we heard something in the tree near where the cache was located, and looked up to see a mother starling feeding her babies

Out caching with Net61 today. Net had already found this one and as she was the driver today, she parked very close to gz. The shops were closed today, so no concerns about being watched. We soon spotted this decent sized cache and after signing the log we replaced it as found. TFTC

Our last cache today whilst caching with Net61, and we made a nice quick find here in this little park as the coordinates were spot on. TFTC

After lunch at a nearby cafe, Net61 and JAG50 made their way down to look for this cache. We searched a number of places, and were being eaten by mosquitoes. After coming up empty handed, we contacted the FTFer, who promptly replied and gave us a little hint. We had another look and still could not locate this cache. We decided to have one last look here, and MrsJAG found it. TFTC

Out caching with Net61 today. There werent many muggles around on this grey overcast day as we zoomed in for a quick find. TFTC

While Mrsjag was on a phone call, Net made her way to gz and soon had this cache in hand, just as Mrsjag was about to join her in the search. TFTC

Out caching with Net61 today. We waited for a trio of muggles to go over bridge with their pet pooch, before making a quick find here. Glad that there were no signs of any grumpy trolls today. TFTC

Out caching with Net61 this Sunday morning. Knowing that the annual Farmers Santa parade was on today, we stopped at the CBD to collect a few caches. It was nice and quiet in town today, and we almost had the place to ourselves. This was our first find for today. As we approached gz, we spied a likely hiding spot. Sure enough, the cleverly camouflaged cache was soon discovered. Replaced as found, before heading to another cache in town. Nicely hidden here Gorby and thanks for the cache.

It was great to see lots of people at the playground, and enjoying the sunny weather this afternoon. They didn't pay attention of us as we zoomed in for a quick find here. TFTC

Out caching with Net61 today. A nice quick find here in a very popular park. We were very impressed with the playground, and it was great to see so many people out enjoying this park today. TFTC

Out caching with Net61 this Sunday morning. Knowing that the annual Farmers Santa parade was on today, we stopped at the CBD to collect a few caches. It was nice and quiet in town today, and we almost had the place to ourselves. There was a crowd of muggles nearby that were having a briefing before boarding the ferry to Rotoroa island. They were facing in the opposite direction to gz, as we zoomed in for a quick find here. TFTC

Saw this cache published this morning, but had appointments with contractors this morning, so couldnt race off to find it. After lunch when JAG finally got home, this cache was still unfound, so JAG left the chores for later and headed out to Piha on a glorious sunny and warm day. The trip out to Piha was one of the longest ever - first the big detour through West Coast Road to get onto Scenic Drive (as the road repairs on Scenic Drive are still taking place and theres no access onto ScenicDrive from Titirangi). Then there was this prius car that travelled at less than half the speed limit all the way out to Piha!!!! And then they travelled down the hills at an extra slow speed - totally oblivious to the ever growing line of cars behind them. Thankfully they pulled over and stopped at the Piha lookout, so JAG could travel the final downhill to gz without wearing out her cars brake pads!Got to gz and there were a few cars parked, but there was still parking available. There was no one around, as I got out of the car and made my way to gz where the cache was soon spotted. So glad to open it up and find a blank log. Thanks Gorby for the cache and the {FTF} here

Like Gorby, JAG had tried to solve this using the cartridge and had problems. After consulting with Gorby, discovered he was having similar issues and had spent a number of hours trying to solve it. The next morning, JAG woke up with an idea on a possible method to solve this. Tried it out, and got some good looking coordinates. So after getting a FTF at Piha, JAG stopped to grab this one on the way home. A nice parking area and safe spot to search for the cache away from the traffic. A couple of sweeps at gz and the cache was soon spotted Thanks Rusty for hiding another Westie cache

We were heading home from a days caching in Matamata, and we stopped to find a few caches as we head home. Although this was on the wrong side of the road for us heading north, the traffic was light and we were able to swing into this reserve. While Net checked out one tree, JAG checked out another and found the cache. TFTC and smilie here

We were heading home from a days caching in Matamata, and we stopped to find a few caches as we head home. No trolls here today but we did find cache in the second place we looked. TFTC

We were heading home from a days caching in Matamata, and we stopped to find a few caches as we head home. MrsJAGs phone was having a meltdown here, so while she shut it down and restarted it, Net found this cache on the bridge. TFTC

We were heading home from a days caching in Matamata, and we stopped to find a few caches as we head home. A nice quick find here with the hint. There was a muggle in his car parked nearby, but he took no notice of us here. TFTC

We had solved this puzzle on the day of publication, but had not been in the area to find it. Today was the day - we made a nice quick find of this small cache. TFTP

We were heading home from a days caching in Matamata, and we stopped to find a few caches as we head home. Once we found our way around and into this prickly tree we soon spotted cache. We stopped to check out the nice mural nearby, before returning to the cache mobile. TFTC

The gardens were closed as we drive to find this cache, but this didnt stop us finding the cache. The log paper is full - we found a small space to add our name. We havent visited these gardens before, so must come and visit them next time we are in the area. TFTC

A plan was made with Net61 to find the caches along the HRT trail. We have ridden the trail before, but today we were doing it with 4 wheels (car) rather than 2 (bike). The sun was out, but the day was not too hot - perfect weather for this series. We parked some distance away from this one and walked along the HRT trail towards gz. We soon spotted this very sneaky hide - which could easily be missed. TFTC

The sun was out, but the day was not too hot - perfect weather for this series. We detoured from the HRT to find this one on our way into Matamata. We soon had our hands on this familiar G2 hide. The log was wet so we dried it out as best we could before replacing as found. TFTC

Before heading to the nearby park for our picnic lunch and takeaway frappes, we stopped to find this cache which was only 60m from where our car was parked. We almost burnt our bums as we sat down to locate this one. A lovely sculpture here which we stopped to admire close up. A great place for a cache and an excuse to checkout this sculpture, as we usually dont stop in Matamata. TFTC

After lunch in Matamata, we were keen to find this cache hidden by G2 and Caleb. Whilst JAG was reading previous logs Net called out the magical words I found it!A well camouflaged and constructed cache here which will hopefully be safe here for a longtime. TFTC and FP given

The sun was out, but the day was not too hot - perfect weather for this series. Another nice looking cafe, but we didnt have time to stop here for refreshments as we were on a mission today to complete this series. We soon spotted this sneaky nano. Getting it out was rather tricky. Nets little fingers were very nimble and she soon extracted the cache from its hiding place. TFTC

The sun was out, but the day was not too hot - perfect weather for this series. There was a group of 10 cyclists from Whanganui that had stopped here whilst riding the HRT. We stopped to chat to them about various NZ cycle trails, before they got back on their bikes and rode off towards Matamata. Once they had moved on and we had gz to ourselves, we zoomed in for a quick find. TFTC

The sun was out, but the day was not too hot - perfect weather for this series. Our hearts sank when we saw how long this long bush was! Thankfully the hint and coordinates were helpful in narrowing down our search area. While Net looked in one place on this long bush, JAG looked in another place and the cache was soon spotted by JAG. The sun was out, but the day was not too hot - perfect weather for this series. There was lots of flowering privet near gz which was making us sneeze. That didnt stop us from finding this cache though. TFTC

The sun was out, but the day was not too hot - perfect weather for this series. We were busy talking and overshot the big bridge (blame the navigator), so we parked on the other side of the bridge and walked back to gz where Net made a quick find of this cache. We stopped to check out the views from the bridge before jumping into the car and driving to the next one. TFTC

We were heading home from a days caching in Matamata, and we stopped to find a few caches as we head home. Seeing that this cache had been replaced to a new location, we stopped to look for it. We extended our search and soon found the cache. Very nice to turn our from upside down here. TFTC
