Logs for Mix76

11-Jun-04
With some edited mathematics this cache is now right (I hope), the plaque that has been vandalized is not the one you need to use look carefully at the lookout guide.

Nice spot for a walk. I will be back agian, many times, soon.

04-Jun-04
I will look in this weekend.

I will get to it this weekend and have a look I think its still o.k. myself but will make sure. Smile

Droping TB

One day I will learn to trust my instincts, I knew where this cache was from the first moment but did the whole thing. Thanks Pesky cool cache, took bubble thingy and left F.R.E.D. it was so nice of you to hide a cache so close to my in-laws’ house just before Easter.

Not too hard, more spiders than you can poke a stick at, and that what I was doing, I still walked into 3, the only thing that bit me was mosquitos though, took nothing left Berdy who need to get to the Odlids in Sydney before Sept so they can get him to the big rock.
Thanks Bronze.

14-Mar-04
After the Microwave I was not sure if I should wait before doing this one, in the end a tree made the cache unreachable by road.

It is still there I looked in today on way to Maitland Event, The Bronze looked for it but the Dib, Dib, Dib, Dob, Dob, Dob Muggles asked what he was looking for and it put him off looking. I had a quick squiz and she is there, Bronze had a GZ right next to it too.
Keep looking, as a result of NCC's grass cutting the flash of green that was showing as founding is now more obscured.

Wow…. Wow…. Wow!

What else can be said, it was an amazing cache event Steelrat did an absolute great job. I had a fantastic time. This was so good because it was an achievable but very challenging at the same time. Each waypoint was as entertaining as it was hard. You set a new benchmark Steelrat, bring on the next ratsplat cache.

13-Mar-04
Parked the car in the carwash gave it a rinse and then went to get the cache, got it in 10 sec. Took it to car to log before finishing car wash. Took dog whistle left TB.

Found this one with bronze today on our way to the Maitland Event Cache, the co-ord are a little out, about 212 meters out, my co-ords are 32 24.318 150 39.572.
My investigations are that hider must have used AGD 84 instead of WGS 84 which accounts for their co-ord.
Took nothing left whistle.

Henry Lawson lived in the historic town of Gulgong for a time and his family home stands as a monument to this. To add to this the Henry Lawson Centre covers his whole life an is a good visit.

And the winner of ‘The Sneakiest Cacher Award’ is Pesky GeoMonkey

And the winner of ‘The Most Dedicated Cacher Award’ is SteelRat

How he convinced his wife to come with him with only 4 days till her baby was due I will never know, but his attendance (and hers) was appreciated, now that’s dedication.

And “The Grand High I Got The Cache First Award†goes to:

Geo-Nads (and daughter) for finding both Enigma and Ephemera first between them.

And finally “The Close But No Banana Award†goes to The Bronze for being right behind the leaders all day no mater who took the lead and for being so close to Geo-Nads when he found the cache it was just unlucky that you did not find it.

The following prizes are now available

Pesky – your prize is that the next time you are in Dubbo we will take you out to dinner, just give us some notice.
SteelRat – your prize is an invitation to bring the family out to Dubbo for some caches and we will take you all to lunch, likewise just give us some notice.

Mrs Mix78, Mini-Mix03, My mate Capt. Hornblower, His wife Kiva and Baby Bean all jumped in the car to help me find this one, the girls and Mini-Mix desided to stay in the car and Baby Bean didn’t get a choice so the Captain and I skronged arowend for a while till he found it, we took it to the car (so the girls could see it) to make swaps then put it back. Thanks C8

Weird... don't know why it posted it as Jan 2 when you did a post today (Jan 3). Probably on the silly states time, lol.. Just confirming that dinner is tonight the third [-)]

Hi 2Dogs, this is MrsMix78. I don't know whether you are online still or not (5pm here) or whether you have spoken to Mix before you posted this post, but dinner is at Finn McCools at 6.30pm. Finn McCools is at the Northern Star Hotel? on Beaumont Street in Hamilton. If you could make it, we look forward to meeting you. Smile Cheers MrsMix78

31-Dec-03
35 caches in 2003, this was technically 34 but it was the one I was most happy about getting as I knew I was going to get to 35 as I saw the site of 35 on the way in and it was a given (locationless). This was my last chance to cache for the year so I was glad to get it. Plus a FTF as well. Thanks SteelRat. Swapped a set of pliers for ockie strap (the gadget of a thousand uses) and some banging thingummies lots of uses for these.

This nice little Jetty at Wangi Wangi on Lake Macquarie is great for use with all water sports like fishing, skiing or just boating in general, the park near by is good for a Barbie too.

31 ships today, I was standing there looking around at impassable shrubs for the cache for a while when I just happened to look down and “oh there it is†at my feet. Thanks Crimson8 “Happy New Yearâ€Â. Took Ockie Strap and Ball - left Pegs, Golf Ball and Shower Cap.

28-Dec-03
Mrs-mix76 was hoping to find this one but I just saw it first. The cache only had a logbook in it and it was soaked so I phoned The Bronze and after some discussion he said that he would archive it as soon as he was online next to I remove it, I left a note in a film canister in case any one came after me before he archived it. This was my first find for today, number 1 of 5.

After dropping by on Boxing Day I came back today with more time to look and found it in seconds. Thanks SteelRat this was my 3rd find today so it was a good one on many accounts.

This was my fourth find today, almost turned back when the grass got tall and the ground very wet but instead walked around till I found a way in. interesting cache, swapped F1 car for cards. Thanks for an interesting cache.

Cache find 2 of 5 for Today Mrs-Mix found it very easily, but the walk was a bit much with a pram and bags and what have you. We had some take away and went to look at the animals on the way.

23-Dec-03
'Dropping' Stegosaurus Travel Bug into Newcastle Event Cache so he will be on his way to a new cache on the 3rd of January.

It was a long day for me but I still got two caches on the way home from picking up my sis (she broke her ankle and couldn’t get home for xmas) this was the second and the light was failing as I found it. Thanks SteelRat. Co-ord a little out for me but not so much to slow me down.

Found this one together with Bronze as part of our warrambungle weekend wander. (watch this space)
Man what a climb, I had to stop so many times for a rest I lost count, when we go to the top we just sat and enjoyed the view, had an orange talked for a bit and took some photos. Then we turned on the GPS and found ground 0 I looked left and bronze looked right, three minuets later we had the cache. Got some photos of the cache and us, which we will post when we develop the film tomorrow. Thanks for another great cache Team Geomonkeys.

27-Sep-03
Found it at about 10:30

My dad stayed in the car with mini-mixima while my brother and I went for a walk.

The batteries in the GPS died 10 meters from the cache so trusting to the last known direction I plunged on into the thicket of thistles walked ten meters and looked for a likely spot. It was in the first place I looked.

Nice spot will have to go back with Mrs Mixima some time.
Put in 500 card deck
Took the ‘bum bag’

19-Sep-03
Found it at 10:30 but it had my coin so I went to a petrol station and got others

I put in a commemorative coin from 2001 but I won't say which
I took out (two duplicates).
