Logs for Team_Ninja

06-May-17
Found by Team Ninja 06/05/17, find number 1028.
My girlfriend and I caught the steam train to Swan Hill today and had some time to kill after lunch before heading back to the station. We were hoping for a bushwalk along the river, but it seems we picked the wrong side as the river isn't very accessible at this point!
It did provide the opportunity to find a few caches, this being our second find. We spent some time looking before my girlfriend spied something from the other side of the wall. I was hoping to drop one of the small trackables I had with me here, but it was a fraction too big for the container!

It did provide the opportunity to find a few caches, with this being the first. The area was relatively free from muggles (as opposed to the cache further up)! Plenty of hiding places here but after a few minutes of staring at my feet, I re-assessed my search techniques and spotted the cache.

Found by Team Ninja 24/04/2017, find number 1010.
No cactus's here but there was a cache. This one might need some TLC. Cache is fine but there's nothing attached to the screw.

Found by Team Ninja 24/04/2017, find number 995.
This was the third find on my '1000 or bust' caching day. Not that there was any chance of me not reaching 1000, given I only needed 8 finds to reach the milestone!
I spent the first two hours capturing the peak hour commuter trains departing Bacchus Marsh, something I've been wanting to do for a few years. Bacchus Marsh local services are mostly loco hauled which provides plenty of opportunities to get some good footage. Unfortunately this morning several loco hauled services had been replaced with railcars, but I was still able to get some good footage!
After I finished getting photos I moved on to caching. I had a pretty bad coffee craving by this point so I cached my way back to town to get some coffee and breakfast before continuing with The Saying Series.
At GZ I searched for some time without luck. I eventually found a cache, but no fish so I don't think this one is as the owner intended it. Anyway, thanks for the find sorceysal!

Another find whilst hitting the trail today. The weather was starting to cloud over by this point but there wasn't any sign of the forecast showers.

Wowser! Biggest cache of the series, you could nearly fit three bags of wool in here! Wink
Thanks for the effort you've put into the series, I'm really enjoying it!

Found by Team Ninja 24/04/2017, find number 1018.
I made this a very quick find today as the dead kangaroo is only a few metres from the cache. I couldn't smell it (I suspect the breeze was blowing in the other direction) but I would recommend the CO moves this one for a few months as it'll get pretty unpleasant here shortly!
Cache is in good order. TFTC! Very Happy

Found by Team Ninja 24/04/2017, find number 1023.
No trolls or hungry goats here but there was a hungry cacher. Nearly time for lunch!

Found by Team Ninja 24/04/2017, find number 1024.
Most of the rubbish in the area has been cleaned up so it's a bit more pleasant here. A nice sized container hidden a bit higher than normal - good to have these type, they stop all us cachers wandering around staring at our feet!
No one around as I arrived but a tradie rocked up once I got back to my car so I timed my visit right. TFTC.

This one was very well hidden and took a bit of hunting to locate. I love the hats on the cache lid!

Found by Team Ninja 24/04/2017, find number 1025.
The last cache in the series for me and my last find for the day. Thanks for the effort you put into researching, placing and maintaining this series. I thoroughly enjoyed finding them!

Found by Team Ninja 24/04/2017, find number 1013.
I set out this morning to achieve 1000 finds (I had 992 finds when I started today). I began in Bacchus Marsh, completed The Saying Series then finished the morning with this series.
I haven't heard of the Three Little Bops before but I was 'bopping' when I saw the size of this cache. It's HUGE! And as I discovered there were more to come!

Found by Team Ninja 24/04/2017, find number 1019.
I approached from the wrong angle, so I didn't spot the cache, but I did spot a way to extract the cache!
This one is fantastic! You don't see many caches like this. +1 favourite

Found by Team Ninja 24/04/2017, find number 1022.
Wow, what a fantastic cache container.
I was cautious opening the lid in case there were any eight legged cache guardians, the only contents were a cache and a few millipedes so all was well!
TFTC! Time to find the last three.

Another quick find whilst on the trail today. I was glad the thorns on the prickly pear weren't big but I still had to be careful not to loose an eye! TFTC! Very Happy

Found by Team Ninja 24/04/2017, find number 1015.
This one took me ages to locate! I was initially fixated by the big tree before expanding my search. I was cautious hunting in the bushes, as I discovered a large 'orb spider' hiding in there as well! With no luck I walked back to the car, which I had left at the previous cache, and drove back to this one, thinking that a fresh approach might reveal the cache. A few more minutes hunting and I spotted a flash of colour among the undergrowth, bang on the coordinates. Glad to have my name in the log book and leave the eight legged cache guardian to his business! Wink

Whoops, forgot to log this one with the rest of the series. Make that four monkeys with me present Wink

22-Apr-17
Regrettably have to archive this one as I won't be in the area any time soon to replace the cache.

19-Apr-17
Found by Team Ninja 19/04/17.
Back in Warrnambool today and I was hoping to find this one whilst on a morning walk. I hoped it would be quiet near GZ and the few muggles in the area were reading the paper in their cars and just out of view. There was a large group of yellow tailed black cockatoos nearby, enjoying the pine cones on the trees.
I soon spotted something a little suspicious at GZ and had the cache in hand. Nice hiding spot!
TFTC, I've given this one a favourite just because it wasn't a dreaded nano on one of the canons (and for the view!) Wink

05-Apr-17
Found by Team Ninja 05/04/17, find number 984.
Third find whilst staying in Apollo Bay on holidays. We were perusing the shops and I snuck across the road to find this one. No muggles around which made things easy. I started on the wrong side, swapped over and discovered something moved that shouldn't. Cache in hand. Nicely thought out and constructed hidey hole. TFTC!

This was my first find whilst on holidays in Apollo Bay. We went for an early morning walk to look at the rockpools and find a cache (or two!). Spotted plenty of starfish and got some great photos. There's a lot of interesting things to see along this stretch of beach!
I approached the cache from the right side and soon spotted the container in it's hidey hole. Thanks for putting this one out Bushfire.

Found by Team Ninja 04/04/17, find number 983.
Second find whilst on holidays in Apollo Bay. We went for an early morning walk along the beach which involved finding a cache or two. Two of us scoured the structure for the cache, so many hiding spots! After nearly 10 minutes of searching I came up with the goods, I'm sure I'd already checked that spot!
Great job with the cache Crok8!

Found by Team Ninja 31/03/17, find number 981.
I've been meaning to find this cache for some time. I was previously planning to drive to this one but I had the day off work, so I decided to get a head start on 'Active April' and cycle here. My GPS was playing up at first and had me looking in the wrong spot but after a different approach I had the issue solved and soon had the cache in hand. There were some very friendly ants on the cache and nearby structure, they were of the non-biting variety so didn't cause me any issues. Some interesting sculptures here and a worthwhile spot for a cache. TFTC Riddell.

Heading to Mount Alexander for a bushwalk and stopped to find this cache. Cache is in good condition. Interesting read on the cache page, thanks for putting the effort into researching and placing this cache. I noticed the school is up for sale as we left. TFTC! Very Happy

Edit: I didn't have a pen with me at the time so I've uploaded a photo of the log book as evidence of my find.

Second find of the day whilst on a 13km bushwalk around Mount Alexander. This is a ripper spot for a cache with some spectacular boulders. There were some muggles rockclimbing nearby but they were out of sight at GZ. Plenty of hiding spots but the coordinates were good and we soon discovered the cache. We liked this spot so much we came back later to have lunch here.

23-Mar-17
Found by Team Ninja 23/03/17, find number 976.
I had some time to kill this afternoon so went for a walk to find this cache. This was my second attempt at this one, the first time I planned to find it there were muggles nearby and I didn't want to risk extracting the cache with them watching. No muggles around today and after a few minutes of searching and getting silver paint on my hands I spotted something a little suspicious. A well hidden cache, great work Team HurriKane!

12-Mar-17
Found by Team Ninja 12/03/17, find number 973.
I had a previous DNF on this cache about a month ago - I could see where the cache was hidden but didn't want to risk extracting it due to a landcare group working nearby. I was driving past today and dropped by under the cover of darkness to make the find. Great spot for a cache.

01-Mar-17
My second DNF on this one in recent times, plenty of hiding spots here but couldn't spot anything. Thanks anyway, good spot for a cache.

18-Feb-17
Found by Team Ninja whilst on church camp in Marysville. Dropped by for an early morning find after breakfast. Cache is in good condition. TFTC! Very Happy

16-Feb-17
Found by Team Ninja 16/02/17. Another day in Warrnambool today which meant another opportinity to find a local cache or two! I enjoyed the walk across town in beautiful late afternoon weather. I've noticed this artwork from the train and it was great to see it up close. Loving all the street art and murals around Warrnambool. A nice easy multi and the cache was found without any issues. TFTC! Very Happy

06-Feb-17
Found by Team Ninja 6/2/16. I made a quick stop in Wallan on a rather gloomy afternoon and managed to find two of the local caches. After parking nearby I went for a short stroll through the lovely parkland and had the cache in hand. Another good spot for a cache. TFTC!

Found by Team Ninja 6/2/16. I made a quick stop in Wallan on a rather gloomy afternoon and managed to find two of the local caches. The weather played to my advantage as there were no muggles in the area. There was a bit of water in the creek but it didn't stop me from making the find. Great spot for a cache. TFTC!

Found by Team Ninja 6/02/16, find number 964.
Travelling North on the Hume, we ducked past the McDonalds here for some ice cream. This was the perfect opportunity to find this cache, which has been on my radar for some time! Following the cachers trail helped avoid the near impenetrable wall of blackberries near GZ and I soon had the cache in hand. Nice cache container!
Thanks Robmc!

Found by Team Ninja 06/02/17, find number 965.
Travelling back South on the Hume later in the day meant another stop for a cache. This was is a bit more exposed than it's counterpart over the highway but I was able to make a quick find here of the very sneaky cache. Nicely done Robmc! TFTC.

02-Feb-17
A rather belated log for this cache. I had the day off work and took the train to Woodend, then cycled to Gisborne through the forest and along the back roads. Before I set off, I dropped by a few of the local caches.
This was the second find and required a bit of stealth due to the location. Cache was found relatively easily and was a little damp inside.
TFTC! Very Happy

29-Jan-17
Too many muggles around in today's nice weather. I attempted to locate this one but I was getting a lot of suspicious glances from the cafe so I moved on. I'll be back!

Found by Team Ninja 29/01/17, find number 961. This was my final find for the day as the hot weather was really starting to get to me by this point! I made the necessary calculations and no police officers or rioting mobs were seen at GZ making for an easy find. My thanks to The Morris for highlighting this important historical event and for an easy mystery cache!

Found by Team Ninja 25/01/2017, find number 955.
This was the first find on a lovely afternoon walk from the falls to Rushall and back. I hadn't been to this spot before and enjoyed a picnic under the shade of a nearby tree after finding the cache.
This was an interesting cache container but it definitely suits the theme! Thanks for the cache and the history lesson maccamob.

Dropped past this spot this afternoon for a picnic and walk along the Merri Creek to Rushall. A really nice spot and the weather was beautiful! Loved the rock formations across the river and learned a few things from the earthcache. TFTC!

12-Jan-17
Found by Team Ninja 12/01/2017, find number 954.
I had previously planned to attempt this cache before Christmas but the carpark was crazy busy with muggles so I didn't even try. I returned today and found the carpark surprisingly quiet - the few muggles over the far side paid no attention to me. I sat down on the curb and must have looked at the right angle as I spotted the cache almost straight away! A nicely hidden cache which could have easily kept me looking for much longer! TFTC.

09-Jan-17
Dropped by this one recently to perform some owner maintenance. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. Someone has removed the cache contents, put them in an broken tackle box type plastic container and flogged the army drum, leaving the plastic container at the coordinates. Is it really that hard to drop by the local Aussie Disposals and purchase your own container? I thought the geocaching community was above this type of thing.
The cache is still at the coordinates but I've disabled the listing for the time being while I contemplate the future of this cache.
NOT HAPPY!

02-Jan-17
Found by Team Ninja 02/01/17, find number 951.
I was in the area with the family today and we decided to walk from Lyonville to Trentham along the Domino Trail. We had previously walked parts of the trail before it was extended from the Loop to Lyonville, but hadn't done the full trail in one go. We enjoyed the walk and being a railfan I particularly enjoyed the old bridges.
After a previous DNF at this location almost a year ago I was keen to turn this one into a smiley. Our success at the other nearby cache (also a previous DNF) had me in good spirits as we attempted this one. GeoDad was on fire today and spied the cache after a few minutes searching.
The creek here also had a nice flow of water in it. TFTC! Very Happy

13-Dec-16
Got stuck at WP1, no sign of anything there that matched the description or hint.

Found by Team Ninja 13/12/16, find number 947.
I was back in Warrnambool today, this cache was a short walk from the motel. A really nice spot for a cache with a well kept garden and plenty of information boards. No muggles in sight today so I was able to make an easy find. TFTC! Very Happy

07-Dec-16
Found by Team Ninja 07/12/16. This is a belated log for this cache as it seems I forgot to log it at the time! Was in Warrnambool for the day and managed to find a few local caches. This was the second find - my GPS was struggling but the hint was very helpful and I soon had the cache in hand. Love the space invader mosaics on the corner!
TFTC! Very Happy

Found by Team Ninja 07/12/16, find number 946.
I was in Warrnambool for work and had a bit of time this afternoon which provided the opportunity to find a cache or two. Despite the area being quite busy there were a few gaps in the passing muggle traffic which gave me time to extract and replace the cache. There's certainly a fair bit of work that has gone into the mosaic!
TFTC! Very Happy

No luck with this one today. I could see the cache but couldn't get to it due to some muggles having lunch nearby. I'll be back.

06-Dec-16
Found by Team Ninja 5/11/16. This was a quick find whilst out walking around woodlands. I had planned to find the entire series in one day at some point but I couldn't resist one sneaky cache whilst I was here today! TFTC, I'll be back for the other 99! Very Happy

30-Nov-16
This one needs maintenance, the inside of the cache is wet and mouldy.
