Wow, we have had a break from caching over a busy few months. Just looked at the map today as L try to keep all of the smileys tidy close to home and found this one only 84m away. So yes we will be watching out for other geocachers in the area, since we are so very close. Don't be confused by the GC on the lamppost near the path - we put this there when working on a night cache we never finished TFTC
Canberra Day and a beautiful morning to go out with my two young cousins who wanted to find one each - Miss I beat her brother to spotting this one first. As a family we enjoyed finding this one on our way home from watching the early morning Balloons take off. TFTC
Canberra Day cache, with two smaller cousins in tow. Thought that with a medium sized boy we could tree climb in daylight. We all looked and couldn't find it but then our lovely lad discovered it on the ground. So we signed the log book and then put it back in reaching distance in a close tree branch as we had no idea where it was meant to be. TFTC.

Late log - we found this while waiting for our friends to drop off cars for our public holiday Centenary trail walk, they were late so a quick cache filled in the time. TFTC

Out walking the centenary trail with a friend. What a great introduction to creative caching! Thanks, we added to the story together. Loved this.
Well worth the tiny trek of trail up hill. Loved finding this one on our centenary trail walk today. Took in the view and some pics. TFTC

Found first thing in the morning on our Centenary trail walk. Would not have stopped and found out so much about the reserve without the cache. TFTC
L says, oh there will be another cache soon. P goes "This one" L slightly frustrated as there was not even a chance to look. Our third cache for the morning on the start of the centenary trail today. TFTC
Second for the day, lovely start to the centenary trail. We liked this one a lot. Sunny but cold. TFTC
09-May-14
Found on our last day of six weeks of puppy sitting - appropriately. We walk past this every day, and sometimes twice with the small hounds. Pen didn't work so logging and will pop back another time we are visiting our puppies. TFTC

Walking the centenary trail we made a slight side diversion to pickup this cache.loved the container tftc
Second find for the day on our centenary trail walk loving combining activities. Interesting area. Tftc
Had a quick look even though there were a few dnfs prior. We only had a few minutes as were a little weary after walking from the AIS on the centenary trail. Thanks for the headsup on the fungi it was like a fairy tale today. Will come back.
Third cache for the day on our centenary trail walk. Had a lovely time showing a friend what clever camo can do to add to the game. Tftc

Walking our second section of the Canberra centenary trail this morning and decided to pick up a cache or two on the way. Pretty quick find the magnet needs to be reglued. Tftc
Picked this up as a slight detour on our Canberra centenary trail walk this morning. Using the ipad so needed to cross the road. Cache quickly in hand.Tftc
26-Oct-13
L & P were out for a Saturday cache. Found the spot with camo disturbed but no sign of the cache container. Widened our search and P found it on the ground about 15m away - in tact but right in the open. Put it back where we thought it should be. TFTC
Love a Saturday early morning cache. Parked at the horse yards and wondered along the trail to make a quick find. A trip down memory lane for L who used to keep her horse at Parkwood and attended pony club here too. TFTC
L had almost cleaned up all of West Belconnen and then this arrived on the map. It had to be found to keep the smileys happy! TFTC

The Jaralah3 team (Lucy & Pete, Rachael, Hugh) had discussed which sort of cache for the 500 - we wanted it to be special and thought of our first caching friends Mr Roo & Jusojara. L &R well remember the night we first met them on a crazy FTF hunt. Mr Roo, you have been the one who has many times left us scratching our heads so close to home, we love it and hate it. Seriously though, thanks for your encouragement!
Also today is H's birthday - for his present L & R decided it was the perfect day to hit our milestone 500th cache. So Happy Birthday H!
L, R and Geckohugger came over from Mongoose, again staring down the magpie and having to jump a big ditch of water and brave long grass on the way. A nano in the bush. Perfect for our 500th! L had a pretty good idea about the cache container and surprisingly it was not long before we had it in hand. Log signed and we took the liberty of adding 500 to our name and date! Sneaky sneaky Mr Roo TFTC

Today is H's birthday. It is also the day we celebrate our milestone 500th cache and we had carefully planned it to be closer to home and by our first caching friend Mr Roo, in honour of the night we first met him and Jusojara on a crazy FTF hunt. L, R and Geckohugger went for the walk, braving the swooping magpie and it was not long before this critter was in hand making our 499th. TFTC - and the log is full.
Cache 498 just two off our milestone 500 - and Happy Birthday to H. Quickly nabbed by L with R's friend Geckohugger (yep theres a lot of you gecko liking folks) on our way for Pizza at florey. TFTC

L had dropped R and friend off at Amaroo and had an hour to kill. Public Holiday Monday so no one was around at all. Cache quickly in hand and logged. Long time since L was out here - learnt to ride horses this way 30 years ago! TFTC
L had dropped R and friend off at Amaroo and had an hour to kill. Public Holiday Monday so no one was around at all. Cache quickly in hand and logged number 6 for today. Enjoyed the view of the growing new suburbs! TFTC
Ok, so we are close to our 500th cache and also trying to "clean up" the West Belconnen ones close to home on the map. L had put this one off as it involved climbing. But R's friend Geckohugger was visiting and offered to assist. So L drove, spotted and sent the geoteens up the tree. They are so much more agile. Log signed by both of us. TFTC.

L had dropped R and friend off at Amaroo and had an hour to kill. Public Holiday Monday so no one was around at all - there were however a few ducks! Cache 4 for the day quickly in hand and logged. TFTC
Cache 2 for the day. L & R had picked up a friend and this was on the way to Gungahlin. Quick nab and it was logged. TFTC
L had dropped R and friend off at Amaroo and had an hour to kill - got this one in the last 15 minutes before heading back - couldn't resist it. Public Holiday Monday so no one was around at all. Cache quickly in hand and logged. TFTC
Team Jaralah3 (there are actually 4 of us in the family) are close to our 500th - this is 497th cache. We are also trying to "clean up" the West Belconnen ones close to home on the map and this almost does it. R Geckohugger and L found this one quickly. TFTC.
L had dropped R and friend off at Amaroo and had an hour to kill. Public Holiday Monday so super quiet - did wave to a small boy at the start of the street. Cache quickly in hand and logged. Long time since L was out here - gosh the suburbs have reached out a long way. TFTC
L had dropped R and friend off at Amaroo and had an hour to kill - had cleaned up a lot of nearby caches and this was the last one for the morning - you know that "just one more, its so close". Public Holiday Monday so no one was around at all. Cache quickly in hand and logged. TFTC
First cache of the Day, L & R were picking up a friend who lives very close so decided this was a good morning cache. We let the local take point and were very quickly at the right place. Logged and done. TFTC and a fab view back across the boarder.
Team Jaralah3 (there are actually 4 of us in the family) are close to our 500th cache and also trying to "clean up" the West Belconnen ones close to home on the map. Having seen the previous logs, we were wondering if this one would be possible. R took on distraction duty and played the silly teenager on the swing while our friend Geckohugger and L searched the bushes. It was actually a pretty quick find, and we smelt lovely afterwards. TFTC.
30-Sep-13
Public Holiday early morning cache excursion by P & L. This was like one of the first caches our team ever found, we like it when they are interesting. This was P's favourite for the day. TFTC
L was out trying to fill in all the smileys outstanding in West Belconnen. Its an ongoing task and there has been a lot of new ones. This took L longer than it should have as the GPS was bouncing and there were plenty of chicken scratched trees around - stopped that and found sensibly when looking in the obvious place. TFTC
L is trying hard to fill in all the Caches in west Belconnen. This one was a trip down memory lane as L grew up in Latham, had some special friends living not far from here. TFTC and prompting some lovely childhood memories.
Ok, so L had to pop out to the shops and to get a haircut. P had made a comment about the Geocaching map looking messy as there were all of these new green ones in the crowd of found ones close to home. So L decided to start to get rid of all those pesky unfound ones, starting today. So Gecko, we know its going to be hard but we are up for a West Belconnen clean up. You will be hearing more from us.
